182 | Whose are you? | John 1:12 | Ray | 69361
Hi Jeff, I have a question before you put an end to the discussion. I know that you, like Paul, wonder which would be best; to be in heaven or to stay here and witness for your Lord. Whichever is God's will, we are not our own. We are God's possession for Him to do with as He wants; it is not up to us. I was looking at "God's own possesion" today. Whose are you? In who's image are you? Ephesians 1:14, "who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God/'s own possession, to the praise of His glory. For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord (Jesus) which exists among you, and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers;..." 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God/'s own posssession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were a people, but now you are a people of (God); you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." Titus 2:11-14, "For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God/ and Savior, Christ (Jesus); who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds." Genesis 1:27, "And God created man in His own image, in the image of God/ He created him; male and female He created them. And (God) blessed them;..." Jeff, I don't accept your (.). 184 | Must Christ have had a human nature? | John 1:14 | Ray | 71878
Did Adam and Eve have a human nature when they were created?
185 | Who is the Prophet? | John 1:21 | Ray | 9882
Jesus is known as our Prophet, our crucified King, and our High Priest. I capitalize these words because I believe that Jesus was God in the flesh and is now our High Priest. What do you think? How do you perceive Him? See John 4:19,29; 6:14, Luke 24:19
186 | Me or me? | John 2:17 | Ray | 53300
Psalm 69 has a verse that speaks of "my folly and my wrongs". Because of that I do not think of that Psalm as being Messianic and would not capitalize pronouns as the Amplified does for Psalm 69:9. My question for John 2:17 is "Which version is most accurate in it's treatment of the word "me"? This is another question of capitalization. |

187 | Born from above: spirit or Spirit? | John 3:5 | Ray | 134554
I have penciled in my personal copy of the Scriptures a lower case "spirit" for this verse, John 3:5. Consider these words of truth and spirit with me. Luke 2:51, "And He went down with them, and came to Nazareth; and He continued in subjection to them; and (His) mother treasured all these things in her heart." John 3:10, "(Jesus) answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?" Jesus said that He had to be involved "in the things of My Father". Luke 2:49 Do you think that these passages are talking about the affairs of "spiritual" things, heavenly things? Do you think that we are born from above by words of spiritual witness? From the heart, Ray |
||||||
188 | Five words of power? | John 3:6 | Ray | 56425
Paul said that "I desire to speak five words with my mind, that I may instruct others also, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue." 1 Corinthians 14:19. I wonder if Jesus is speaking five words of power in the third chapter of John? |
||||||
189 | Born of the Pneuma or pneuma? | John 3:8 | Ray | 142268
In regard to thinking about how God speaks to us, were we born from above by the Spirit or the spirit? We were born again by His Spirit or His spirit? Or both? From the heart, Ray |
||||||
190 | Teacher or teacher? | John 3:12 | Ray | 56354
I believe that it is the God/Man speaking here in John 3:12. The NKJ has the pronouns of verse 11 in capitals denoting that Deity is speaking. John 3:10-12, NKJ, "(Jesus) answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know of these things? Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak that which We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. If I/ have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?" I'd like you to consider whether you agree with NKJ or whether you would go with the NASB. Besides verse 11, the capitalization of pneuma or wind is one to be considered also. Does the Spirit blow where He wishes? Or is that an earthly thing that we can see and believe? Do We speak what We know? Or is this just a man speaking? From the heart, Ray |

191 | Who or what is the (s)Spirit? | John 3:34 | Ray | 147600
Reference #124161. John 3:34, KJ, "For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him." John 3:34, NKJ, "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure." What total do you interpret by capitalization for the nouns and pronouns of Deity for this verse? 4,5, or 6? From the heart, Ray |
||||||
192 | John 4:10. Is God an it? Who is this? | John 4:10 | Ray | 120965
John 4:10. Is God an it? | ||||||
193 | Should I "count" this one? | John 4:27 | Ray | 69960
John 4:27, NKJ, "And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, "What do You seek?" or, "Why are You talking with her?" All of these versions, NASB, Amplified, and NKJ capitalize "You" in this verse. As one who is interested in capitalization and as a person who "counts" pronouns of Deity, I choose to put in lower case, "What do you seek?" Can I get your opinions? From the heart, Ray |

194 | Why leave the waterpot? | John 4:28 | Ray | 63693
I was comparing/contrasting Isaiah 12:3 and John 4:28,29 today. See also John 6:68 and John 5:34 Consider with me, "Why did the woman leave her waterpot?" |
||||||
195 | The ways of life and truth? Acts 2:28 | John 5:32 | Ray | 142923

||||||
196 | Is there another helper? | John 5:43 | Ray | 4778
John 5:32 says,"There is another who testifies of Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about Me is true. John 5:43 says, "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him." What would be your objection to capitalizing the word "another"? Would you agree with ..."if Another comes in His own name, you will receive Him."
197 | Are you being put to the test? | John 6:6 | Ray | 73737
Jesus saw the multitudes were coming to Him and asked Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?" Why did Jesus test Philip? From the heart, Ray |
||||||
198 | Have you chosen this king? 1Sam 12:13 | John 6:15 | Ray | 80551
What are your thoughts after meditating on John 6:15, John 18:37, and 1 Samuel 12:12? Do they have anything of relationship to Luke 19:10? Do other Scriptures come to mind? From the heart, Ray |
||||||
199 | This is the Bread? | John 6:27 | Ray | 90636
Hi Emmaus, I haven't spoken to a person from the Roman Catholic church about the Bread of life. I wonder if you are more open than others to the interpretation of capitalizing the seven breads found in John 6:41-58? Is this manna which came down from heaven the son of Joseph or the Son of Joseph? Our bread perishes; do you think the one eating this Bread will? From the heart, Ray |
||||||
