1 | Prayer request, | Bible general Archive 2 | Emmaus | 125076
Reposting Justme's post which he aksed no be responded to so it would stay up. PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THIS, I AM POSTING IT AS A PRAYER REQUEST. I would like it to stay for a awhile please.:-) I have many large blood clots in my right leg, that have gone to both lungs. This is a critical and dangerous condition. The prognosis is grim from a medical stand point. The doctors are amazed I am not in great pain and I can breath with good oxygen saturation. Everyone is stumped as to how I have made it thus far. The next 90 days either will take me home to be with the Lord or I will begin to improve. I request specifically that you to pray for me to be in the Father's direct will for my life, and for my family. Blessings to all the Forum for you have been a rich blessing in my life! I am at peace, and rest in Jesus Christ. I have known Jesus Christ as Lord from the age of 9. My favorite Scripture is Psalm 139. justme (Mike) |

Frankly I am stunned, and awe struck at the Lord's great love. I am framing the two Cat Scan reports side by side for everyone to see that this is a genuine MIRACLE from God! We were told to make funeral plans on June 18, and now there are no clots whatsoever. Dear Friends I am so blessed and thankful! 3 | "am I wrong in thinking that you pray to | Bible general Archive 1 | Emmaus | 26328
You ask: "am I wrong in thinking that you pray to Mary and if you do, what confidence do you have, or faith or whatever it is that you want to call it, that she hears you and where in the Bible do you get this assurance? Catholics pray "to" Mary and the saints only in the same sense that we would ask a friend or family member to pray for us or with us about any matter. Catholics believe in the "communion of saints." That is we believe that God is the God of the living (Matt 22:32), and that all those who are in Christ are alive in him even after physical death. In a sense after they die they are with Him in an even deeper and intimate sense than we are here on earth. But still Jesus, is the vine and we are all the branches on earth heaven that trust in Him and obey (John 15:1-10). St. Paul in his epistles often asks for the prayers of his congregations and assures them of his prayers for them. He also speaks of being physically absent from them but with them in the spirit (1 Cor. 5:3, Col. 2:5). Although he was alive on the earth at the time he wrote, the same principle applies after death if God is the God of the living, not of the dead. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are dead in the physical sense, but counted among the living by Jesus in Matt 22:32. And so to live in Christ is to transcend the separation of death by faith, hope and charity (1 Cor. 13:13). In the Book of Revelation we see the Church in heaven praising God (Rev 4) and praying before God for the Church on earth (Rev 6:9-11 and 7:9-8:5). See also Hebrews 11 especially 11:40 through 12-4 that speaks of how those who have gone before us are bound together with us in salvation and are a great cloud of witnesses as we continue in our struggle against sin. So we ask them to pray with us and for us before the throne of God, starting with Mary, God's own chosen vessel, and all the saints throughout the ages as well as those struggling here with us. |

4 | Holy Spirit, an impersonal force? | Bible general Archive 1 | Emmaus | 82025
Bern, "Holy Spirit is constantly shown to be a power or force that the Father controls." If that is so, why is the Holy Spirit referred to as "he" and "him" in John 16:7-8 and 16:13-14? How could he, if merely an impersonal active force, bear witness John 15:26; feel hurt Isaiah 63:10; be blasphemed against Mark 3:29; say things Ezek 3:24, Acts 8:29, 10:19, 11:12, 21:11, Heb 10:15-17, Rev 2:7; desire Gal 5;17; be outraged Heb 10:29; search 1Cor 2:10; comfort Acts 9:31; love Rom 15:30; refer to himself as "me" Acts 13:2; be lied to and be God Acts 5:3-4? By the way, the Trinity is not a "triad" of three gods, but a Tri-unity of one God. Emmaus |

9 | Freefall from grace, then and now? | Gen 2:16 | Emmaus | 31345
Lionstrong, If the state of grace and fellowship with God which Adam and Eve lost through sin has been restored to us by Christ's sacrifice, have we also thereby lost the free will that Adam and Eve had in Eden before the fall while they were still in that original state of grace? Emmaus |

10 | Adam and Eve, no fall from grace? | Gen 2:16 | Emmaus | 31513
Lionstong, No fall from grace? You said: "So the Protestant understanding of Scripture is that our first parents were not in a state of grace before the fall. And they did not lose grace in the Fall, because they never had it or needed it before the Fall! " Are there others on this forum that believe this? Did the reformers believe this? Please quote them if they did. Adam and Eve did not fall from grace!? What then did they fall from and what did did Jesus's sacrifice restore? If the creation of Adam and Eve from nothing in immortal bodies and daily face to face fellowship with God as his children is not unmerited favor what is? What did they do before their creation to earn this favor? Did not Jesus restore what was lost? Are we not "new creations" with the promise even of immortal bodies at the resurection? And if fellowship with God as his children was not an unmerited favor and that which was lost and restored, what was lost and what was restored? Were not Adam and Eve and all us us disgraced as a result of what they did? No pun intended. All of which takes us away from the original questions you did not answer. Do you believe Adam and Eve thought they could not loose Eden and once we are restored to justification bt Christ do we still have free will as Adam and Eve did? Emmaus |
