121 | I'm not sure what your saying? | 1 Tim 3:2 | EdB | 7015
I don't follow you on that. If we would take this verse literally we have to say God was talking about a husband married to one wife nothing more nothing less. Explain to me what you saying? |

122 | Hank where did I say all of this? | 1 Tim 3:2 | EdB | 7054
Hank you’re an interesting person. You have a way of backing off a point making the other person the villain. Case in point you said you did not tell the story of your divorced friend who continued in the ministry to show that what had transpired was okay, that you were just reporting the facts. Isn’t interesting you decided to report the facts in a discussion on divorced ministers? You in fact were using the story in an attempt to validate your point! There is nothing wrong with that! The problem I have is how you then took what I said and turned it on me. I never said you were sanctioning divorce so why mention it? I never attempted to adjudicate the fore mentioned divorce case so why mention it? I never pointed a finger in fact I went out of my way not to impugn anyone so why imply I did? I certainly did not cast any self righteous glare as I would have been the first to leave the day Jesus said “he who is without sin let him cast the first stone”. Without the work of the cross and the precious cleansing blood my fate would be sealed. So why even mention a “self righteous” “glare”. I never pointed a finger, I merely asked if we knew God’s will in this situation. I further ask you to show me where I impugn or even attempted to impugn God’s wisdom. I stand in awe of God, I never questioned what he said I questioned what man said God said. I could take offense (but I won’t :-) ) at your attempt to imply I was questioning God on this or any other subject. All these words you used in your response to my comment, all inflammatory, all without just cause. Yes Hank you’re an interesting guy. |

123 | Contradictions in Bible Study | 2 Tim 3:16 | EdB | 232519
In a discussion on another subject we explored contradictions that are created within scripture depending on our interpretation of scripture. I think we all agree scripture does not contradict itself. My question is when we come across these situations where apparent contradictions seem to exist how should be handle them? |

124 | Will you tell us more? | Titus | EdB | 8417
Donnag, You will get a lot of people giving you opinions and I'm amazed how many do so without knowing the complete situation. When you first asked the question you implied you were worried about the size. In this response you mention the pastor curses the people she is trying to minister to and a dream you had. What do you mean she curses the people she is trying to minister to? Does she call them bad names? Does she speak disaster into their lives? Is she not doing what you think should be done? What exactly brought you to the church in the first place? And what is keeping you there? |

125 | Mark what is driving you? | Titus | EdB | 8435

126 | Is God advising you on Donnag? | Titus | EdB | 8436
Mark you say don’t be ridiculous, I didn’t think I was. I thought I was trying to get to the bottom of the story so I could give Godly, Biblically sound advice. Mark are you telling me God gave you the interpretation of Donnag’s dream? To answer your question have “I” ever cast out demons? No “I” never did, however I have used the authority of Jesus’ name to have them leave. I don’t spend a lot of time with demons since they are the defeated foes. I’m really not too afraid of them because I don’t believe they can cross the blood line. I can not say I have ever been in Donag’s place because I’m still trying to figure out where that is at. I haven’t told Donnag to stay, to leave, to fight, to run, I haven’t done anything yet but ask questions. I just want to know what we are dealing with. |

127 | Please explain to me? | Titus | EdB | 8658
Mark your evidently still monitoring this thread. Would you put my heart to ease, please. Explain why you kept overriding my pleas to you, to wait until we got the whole story? What made you feel you had to respond instead of waiting? Why did you feel you had to counter every thing I said? What made you feel you had to attack me?
128 | We may be missing something here | 1 Pet 3:20 | EdB | 6331
Excuse me for butting in but I think we may be missing something. First let’s look at God’s definition of Noah … Noah, a preacher of righteousness… 2 Peter 2:5. Now lets see there was the time of the Arks construction. Then there was seven days after Noah and his family entered into the Ark before the flood. Then we see see this reference in 1 Peter 3:20 … when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. Knowing what a preacher is like does anyone think Noah didn’t preach during this time. And isn’t the patience of God the construction plus the seven days He waited after Noah entered the Ark. Why would God do that unless Noah was preaching during this time calling people to repentance and God givng them one last chance to have a change of heart? 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. |

129 | Is sinless perfection possible on earth? | 1 John 1:8 | EdB | 228586
I light of 1 John 1:8 and Romans 7 and the fact that Jesus is our eternal high priest and intercessor should we consider living in sinless perfection a possibility or as goal at which to aim. Can we in fact live sinless lives? I realize we can be forgiven of our sins and when that occurs we are sinless. But can we go through life and never ever commit another sin? If not what verse other than Paul's decision in Roman 7 and this verse in 1 John 1:8 confirms that? Again I realize we should strive and make every effort to reach sinless perfection but my question is can we actually do it in this imperfect body in this imperfect world or will we only reach sinless perfection when were are given our perfect bodies? |

130 | Please I'm looking for your opinion! | Rev 22:18 | EdB | 101989
I was sent this yesterday and I found it interesting. I thought I would post it to the forum for comments. Plese read this and tell me what us what you think on this subject. "I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH." MATTHEW 16:18 The church's all-time biggest blunders is never too late to learn from our blunders. Here are 7: (1) We've made unbelief a doctrine. While third-world nations believe God for New Testament results, we teach our seminary students that God doesn't do miracles anymore. (2) We've tolerated division. Who needs the devil when we're so adept at hating one another in the name of denominational loyalty? (3) We've cultivated a religious spirit. We've taught that Christianity is about avoiding things like smoking and drinking. As a result we've lost our joy, because intimacy with God cannot be achieved through performance. (4) We've encouraged "super stars. " Consequently, some of our preachers have stopped modeling servanthood, and forgotten that Jesus washed feet and rode on a donkey. (5) We've equated money with success. We've found a way to "theologize" greed, instead of using our God-given prosperity to feed the poor and reach the world with the Gospel. (6) We've stayed in the pews and become irrelevant. We freak out when somebody uses rap or rock music to reach the younger generation. Instead of engaging the culture we're hiding from it. (7) We've taught people to be escape-artists. Instead of "occupying till He comes," we'd rather be astronauts and fly away. We read rapture novels when we should be praying for those living on the verge of martyrdom. Why can't we have their kind of faith? We can - if we're willing to pay the price and commit ourselves fully to God! |
