3 | Take it Literal | Mark 16:18 | zoetrope | 190242 | ||
(4.5) Yeah, I have been doing some catching up (via the search module) I just read the cpiening77 post and your response was appropriate, but I wanted a little elaboration on the issue of time and place, breadth and width of the word as it has been and will continue to be interpreted. 1-What do you mean when you say "take the Bible literall unless it says otherwise" in regards to the act of being bitten by a poisonous viper and not being harmed? 1-"Even linking Act 28:3-6 is incorrect. Paul didn't pick up the snake, but, fireword. 2-Remember not all promises are continual and for all people. Some are for ... - a specific group, for a specific time - a specific group, with a break between - a specific group, continual - a general group for a specific time - a general group, with a break between ... so read the entire context. Searcher" I know nothing, am nothing, and have no opinion of my own... The word is my delight, Jesus is Lord, and the Spirit is my guide. Searcher, please explain: 1-How do we take the bible literally in one instance and not others? 2-If promises are not continual and for all people could that also apply to reprimands written for specific conditions which are not in relation to sin? zoe |
