1 | God's Blessing ... for us? | Bible general Archive 3 | mbaska | 173028
Doc and prayon, I apologize for the straight forwardness of my question. The intent was to zero in to only that verse in Genesis. I am none of the names provided by Doc, at present I view man's religion ... the varied organized and separated churches... as having missed the mark of which Paul was warning and preaching against. Just think about it. So many people that disagree with each other that even in the same denomination there are many divisions. We just do not have it right! I'm just not seeing Christ in man's religion as our Father's will is for our lives. Remember He is to see Christ in us. I guess I'm trying to look at the Bible with new eyes and new heart. I celebrate "each day" He has created. The apostles broke bread with each other every day to share, encourage and glorify God in each of their ministries. Back to the question .. didn't something special happen here ? God "blessed" and "sanctified" the seventh day. Read: Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. I read and then stop here in wonderment and ponder. This is the first blessing. Remember, this is in the beginning, no Laws or Commandments. What does it really mean. Does the original language say more. Did God bless the day for himself or us. What is this blessing? I wish Moses was able to expound on the statement he was provided. Maybe this question is not answerable or we try to answer with our own biases. Can we "truely" let go of this human-worldly nature and place our lives in our Creator's hands for His hand to mold? Can we really be as dependent on Him as the sparrows are. Much to pray and think on ... |

2 | ...the LORD blessed the sabbath ..holy" | Bible general Archive 3 | mbaska | 172937
"...therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy." - in Genesis If God "Blessed" and "made it Holy", is it for ever, for Him or us? How does this sabbath day relate to us? Not by what the commandment in Exodus says but by what God has done to this day in Genesis. Do not provide anything related to the "day was changed to Sunday" ... that is just a pure lie!! .. no Biblical proof .. don't go there .. the importance is what did God mean by providing the inspired statement to Moses when he wrote Genesis? |
