Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:1 So they brought the ark of God and set it inside the tent which David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:2 When David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:3 He distributed to everyone in Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a raisin cake.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:4 ¶ He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD and to profess [God's name] and to thank and praise the LORD, the God of Israel:
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:5 Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel (Jaaziel), Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel with musical instruments, harps and lyres; also Asaph played loud-sounding cymbals;
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:6 and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests blew trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:7 ¶ Then on that day David first entrusted to Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the LORD [as their chief task].
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:8 O give thanks to the LORD, call on His name;
Make His deeds known among the peoples.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:9 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders.

Let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

Seek His face continually [longing to be in His presence].

His miracles and the judgments from His mouth,

His judgments are in all the earth.

The promise which He commanded and established to a thousand generations,

And His oath (sworn promise) to Isaac.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:17 He confirmed it as a statute to Jacob,
And to Israel as an everlasting covenant, [Gen 35:11, 12]
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:18 Saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan,
As the portion of your possession and inheritance."

Even a very few, and strangers in it,

And from one kingdom to another people,

And, He reproved and punished kings for their sakes, saying, [Gen 12:17; 20:3; Ex 7:15-18]
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:22 "Do not touch My anointed ones,
And do My prophets no harm." [Gen 20:7]
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:24 Declare His glory among the nations,
His marvelous works among all peoples.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
He is also to be feared [with awe-filled reverence] above all gods.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:26 For all the gods of the peoples are [lifeless] idols,
But the LORD made the heavens.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:27 Splendor and majesty are [found] in His presence;
Strength and joy are [found] in His place (sanctuary).
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:28 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and honor and strength.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:29 Ascribe to the LORD the glory and honor due His name;
Bring an offering [of thanksgiving], and come before Him;
Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:30 Tremble [reverently] before Him, all the earth;
The world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
And let them say among the nations, "The LORD reigns."
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:32 Let the sea roar, and all the things that fill it;
Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:33 Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD;
For He comes to judge and govern the earth.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:34 O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness endures forever.

Gather us together and rescue us from the nations,

And glory in Your praise."
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:36 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel,
Forever and ever.
And all the people said, "Amen," and praised the LORD.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:37 ¶ So David left Asaph and his relatives there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister before the ark continually, as each day's work required;
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:38 and Obed-edom with his sixty-eight relatives; also Obed-edom the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, were to be gatekeepers.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:39 David left Zadok the priest and his relatives the priests before the dwelling place (tabernacle) of the LORD in the high place which was at Gibeon, [1 Chr 21:29]
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:40 to offer burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering continually, morning and evening, in accordance with all that is written in the Law of the LORD, which He commanded Israel.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen and designated by name, to give thanks to the LORD, for His lovingkindness endures forever.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:42 With them were Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those who were to sound aloud, and instruments for [accompanying] the songs of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were to be at the gate.
Verse Info. Notes 1 Chr 16:43 ¶ Then all the people departed, each to his house, and David returned [home] to bless his household.
