AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 4:1 So I, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to you to live a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called [that is, to live a life that exhibits godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature behavior--a life that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation], |
Bible Question: What does paul mean by walk worthy of the calling. Why does he start with this topic. |
Bible Answer: Hi shael: I think the answer is found in the word THEREFORE. This indicates a continuation from the previous verses. In Ephesians 3:14-21, Paul prays one of the most awesome and profound prayers for "every family in heaven and on earth", that means us, you and me. Once we get the truths of that prayer (who we are and what we are in Christ) deep into our hearts, we can walk in the manner worthy of our calling; we can become a prisoner of our LORD. I hope this is helpful, shael. Humble Pi |
