NASB | Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?" |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty (subtle, skilled in deceit) than any living creature of the field which the LORD God had made. And the serpent (Satan) said to the woman, "Can it really be that God has said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?" [Rev 12:9-11] |
Subject: Does serpent mean literal snake? |
Bible Note: Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord. During the Millennium, when Satan is bound, the literal serpent is still eating dust (for all eternity). That makes me think you are correct in saying the serpent was complicit. Gen. 4:13 God said the serpent DID something "Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed...". Isaiah 28:14-19 (If this is Satan)Satan is a cherub. What is a Cherub? |
