Blessed be the LORD, ^amy rock,Who ^btrains my hands for war,And my fingers for battle;2 My faithfulness and ^amy fortress,My ^bstronghold and my savior,My ^cshield and He in whom I take refuge,Who ^dsubdues ¹my people under me.3 LORD, ^awhat is man, that You look after him?Or a son of man, that You think of him?4 ^aMan is like the breath;His ^bdays are like a passing shadow.

5 ^aBend down Your heavens, LORD, and ^bcome down;^cTouch the mountains, that they may smoke.6 Flash forth ^alightning and scatter them;Send out Your ^barrows and confuse them.7 Reach out with Your hand ^afrom on high;Rescue me and ^bsave me from great waters,From the hand of ^cforeigners8 Whose mouth ^aspeaks deceit,And whose ^bright hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9 God, I will sing a ^anew song to You;On a ^bharp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,10 Who ^agives salvation to kings,Who ^brescues His servant David from the evil sword.11 Rescue me and save me from the hand of ^aforeigners,Whose mouth ^bspeaks deceitAnd whose ^cright hand is a right hand of falsehood.

12 When our sons in their youth are like ^agrowing plants,And our daughters like ^bcorner pillars ¹fashioned for a palace,13 Our ^agranaries are full, providing every kind of produce,And our flocks deliver thousands and ten thousands in our ¹fields;14 May our ^acattle ¹be bredWithout ²^bmishap and without ³^closs,May there be no ^doutcry in our streets!15 Blessed are the people who are so situated;^aBlessed are the people whose God is the LORD!
