Now concerning ^athe collection for ^1bthe saints, as ^cI directed the churches of ^dGalatia, so you are to do as well. 2 On ^athe first day of every week, each of you is to ¹put aside and save as he may prosper, so that ^bno collections need to be made when I come. 3 When I arrive, ^awhomever you approve, I will send them with letters to take your gift to Jerusalem; 4 and if it is appropriate for me to go also, they will go with me.

5 But I ^awill come to you after I go through ^bMacedonia; for I ^cam going through Macedonia, 6 and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may ^asend me on my way wherever I go. 7 For I do not want to see you now ^ajust in passing; for I hope to remain with you for some time, ^bif the Lord permits. 8 But I will remain in ^aEphesus until ^bPentecost; 9 for a ^awide door ¹for effective service has opened to me, and ^bthere are many adversaries.

10 Now if ^aTimothy comes, see that he ¹has no reason to be afraid while among you, for he is doing ^bthe Lord’s work, as I also am. 11 ^aSo do not look down on him, anyone. But ^bsend him on his way ^cin peace, so that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brothers.

12 Now concerning our brother ^aApollos, I strongly encouraged him to come to you with the brothers; and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has the opportunity.

13 ^aBe on the alert, ^bstand firm in the faith, ^cact like men, ^dbe strong. 14 All that you do must be done ^ain love.

15 Now I urge you, brothers and sisters: you know the ^ahousehold of Stephanas, that ¹they are the ^bfirst fruits of ^cAchaia, and that they have devoted themselves to ^dministry to ^ethe ²saints; 16 I urge that ^ayou also be subject to such as these and to everyone who helps in the work and labors. 17 I rejoice over the ^1acoming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, because they have ²supplied ^bwhat was lacking on your part. 18 For they ^ahave refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore ^backnowledge such men.

19 The churches of ^1aAsia greet you. ^bAquila and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with ^cthe church that is in their house. 20 All the brothers and sisters greet you. ^aGreet one another with a holy kiss.

5 I ^awill visit you after I go through ^bMacedonia, for I am only ^cpassing through Macedonia; 6 but it may be that I will stay with you for a while, or even spend the winter, so that you may ^asend me on my way to wherever I may go afterward. 7 For I do not wish to see you right now ^ajust in passing, but I hope to remain with you for some time later on, ^bif the Lord permits. 8 But I will stay in ^aEphesus until ^1bPentecost, 9 because a ^awide door for effective service has opened to me in Ephesus, a very promising opportunity, and ^bthere are many adversaries. Acts 19:23-41

10 If ^aTimothy comes, see to it that you put him at ease, so that he has nothing to fear in regard to you, for he is devotedly doing ^bthe Lord’s work, just as I am. 11 ^aSo allow no one to treat him with disdain as if he were inconsequential. But ^bsend him off cordially, and speed him on his way ^cin peace, so that he may come to me, for I am expecting him to come along with the other brothers.

13 ^aBe on guard; ^bstand firm in your faith in God, respecting His precepts and keeping your doctrine sound. ^cAct like mature men and be courageous; ^dbe strong. Ps 31:24 14 Let everything you do be done ^ain love motivated and inspired by God’s love for us.

15 Brothers and sisters, you know that those of the ^ahousehold of Stephanas were the ^bfirst converts in ^cAchaia, and that they have devoted themselves for ^dministry to ^1eGod’s people—now I urge you 16 ^ato be subject to such leaders treating them with courtesy and respect, and to everyone who helps in the work and labors for the benefit of yourselves and the church. 17 I rejoice because Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus ^ahave arrived, for they have made up for ^byour absence. 18 They ^ahave refreshed my spirit as well as yours. So ^bfully acknowledge such men and deeply appreciate them.

19 The churches of ^aAsia send you their greetings. ^bAquila and Prisca, together with ^cthe church that meets in their house, send you their warm greetings in the Lord. 20 All the believers greet you. ^aGreet one another with a holy kiss.
