This is the book of the generations of Adam. On the day when God created man, He made him ^ain the likeness of God. 2 He created them ^amale and female, and He ^bblessed them and named them “mankind” on the day when they were created.

3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth. 4 Then the days of Adam after he fathered Seth were eight hundred years, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 5 So all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died.

6 Now Seth lived 105 years, and fathered Enosh. 7 Then Seth lived 807 years after he fathered Enosh, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 8 So all the days of Seth were 912 years, and he died.

9 Now Enosh lived ninety years, and fathered Kenan. 10 Then Enosh lived 815 years after he fathered Kenan, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 11 So all the days of Enosh were 905 years, and he died.

12 Now Kenan lived seventy years, and fathered Mahalalel. 13 Then Kenan lived 840 years after he fathered Mahalalel, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 14 So all the days of Kenan were 910 years, and he died.

15 Now Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and fathered Jared. 16 Then Mahalalel lived 830 years after he fathered Jared, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 17 So all the days of Mahalalel were 895 years, and he died.

18 Now Jared lived 162 years, and fathered Enoch. 19 Then Jared lived eight hundred years after he fathered Enoch, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 20 So all the days of Jared were 962 years, and he died.

21 Now Enoch lived sixty-five years, and fathered Methuselah. 22 Then Enoch ^awalked with God three hundred years after he fathered Methuselah, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 23 So all the days of Enoch were 365 years. 24 ^aEnoch walked with God; and he was ¹not, for God ^btook him.

25 Now Methuselah lived 187 years, and fathered Lamech. 26 Then Methuselah lived 782 years after he fathered Lamech, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 27 So all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died.

28 Now Lamech lived 182 years, and fathered a son. 29 And he named him Noah, saying, “This one will give us comfort from our work and from the hard labor of our hands caused by ^athe ground which the LORD has cursed.” 30 Then Lamech lived 595 years after he fathered Noah, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 31 So all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died.

32 Now after Noah was ^afive hundred years old, Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

12 And Kenan lived 70 years and became the father of Mahalalel. 13 Then Kenan lived 840 years after he became the father of Mahalalel, and he became the father of other sons and daughters. 14 So all the days of Kenan were 910 years, and he died.

15 And Mahalalel lived 65 years and became the father of Jared. 16 Then Mahalalel lived 830 years after he became the father of Jared, and he became the father of other sons and daughters. 17 So all the days of Mahalalel were 895 years, and he died.

18 And Jared lived 162 years and became the father of Enoch. 19 Then Jared lived 800 years after he became the father of Enoch, and he became the father of other sons and daughters. 20 So all the days of Jared were 962 years, and he died.

21 And Enoch lived 65 years and became the father of Methuselah. 22 Then Enoch ^awalked with God 300 years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he became the father of other sons and daughters. 23 So all the days of Enoch were 365 years. 24 ^aEnoch walked with God; and he was not, for God ^btook him.

25 And Methuselah lived 187 years and became the father of Lamech. 26 Then Methuselah lived 782 years after he became the father of Lamech, and he became the father of other sons and daughters. 27 So all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died.

28 And Lamech lived 182 years and became the father of a son. 29 Now he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will ¹give us rest from our work and from the pain of our hands arising from ^athe ground which Yahweh has cursed.” 30 Then Lamech lived 595 years after he became the father of Noah, and he became the father of other sons and daughters. 31 So all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died.

32 And Noah was ^a500 years old, and Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

3 When Adam had lived a hundred and thirty years, he ¹became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth. 4 After he became the father of Seth, Adam lived eight hundred years and had other sons and daughters. 5 So Adam lived nine hundred and thirty years in all, and he died.

6 When Seth was a hundred and five years old, he became the father of Enosh. 7 Seth lived eight hundred and seven years after the birth of Enosh, and he had other sons and daughters. 8 So Seth lived nine hundred and twelve years, and he died.

9 When Enosh was ninety years old, he became the father of Kenan. 10 Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years after the birth of Kenan and had other sons and daughters. 11 So Enosh lived nine hundred and five years, and he died.

12 When Kenan was seventy years old, he became the father of Mahalalel. 13 Kenan lived eight hundred and forty years after the birth of Mahalalel and had other sons and daughters. 14 So Kenan lived nine hundred and ten years, and he died.

15 When Mahalalel was sixty-five years old, he became the father of Jared. 16 Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years after the birth of Jared and had other sons and daughters. 17 So Mahalalel lived eight hundred and ninety-five years, and he died.

18 When Jared was a hundred and sixty-two years old, he became the father of Enoch. 19 Jared lived eight hundred years after the birth of Enoch and had other sons and daughters. 20 So Jared lived nine hundred and sixty-two years, and he died.

21 When Enoch was sixty-five years old, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 Enoch ^awalked in habitual fellowship with God three hundred years after the birth of Methuselah and had other sons and daughters. 23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24 And in reverent fear and obedience ^aEnoch walked with God; and he was not found among men, because God ^btook him away to be home with Him. 25 When Methuselah was a hundred and eighty-seven years old, he became the father of Lamech. 26 Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years after the birth of Lamech and had other sons and daughters. 27 So Methuselah lived nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.

28 When Lamech was a hundred and eighty-two years old, he became the father of a son. 29 He named him Noah, saying, “This one shall bring us rest and comfort from our work and from the dreadful toil of our hands because of ^athe ground which the LORD cursed.” 30 Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years after the birth of Noah and had other sons and daughters. 31 So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died.

32 After Noah was ^afive hundred years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
