2 ^aWe always give thanks to God for all of you, ^bmaking mention of you in our prayers; 3 constantly keeping in mind your ^awork of faith and labor of ^blove and ^1cperseverance of hope ²in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of ^dour God and Father, 4 knowing, ^abrothers and sisters, beloved by God, ^bHis choice of you; 5 for our ^agospel did not come to you in word only, but also ^bin power and in the Holy Spirit and with ^cfull conviction; just as you know ^dwhat kind of men we proved to be among you for your sakes. 6 You also became ^aimitators of us and of the Lord, ^bhaving received ^cthe word during great affliction with the ^djoy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in ^aMacedonia and ^bAchaia. 8 For ^athe word of the Lord has ^bsounded forth from you, not only in ^cMacedonia and ^dAchaia, but ^ein every place the news of your faith toward God has gone out, so that we have no need to say anything. 9 For they themselves report about us ¹as to the kind of ^areception we had with you, and how you ^bturned to God ^cfrom ²idols to serve ^3da living and true God, 10 and to ^await for His Son from ¹heaven, whom He ^braised from the dead, that is, Jesus who ^crescues us from ^dthe wrath to come.

2 ^aWe give thanks to God always for all of you, continually ^bmentioning you in our prayers; 3 recalling unceasingly before ^aour God and Father your ^bwork energized by faith, and your service motivated by ^clove and ^dunwavering hope in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1+@Thess 1:10 4 ^a1Brothers and sisters beloved by God, we know that ^bHe has chosen you; 5 for our ^agood news regarding salvation came to you not only in word, but also ^bin its inherent power and in the Holy Spirit and with ^cgreat conviction on our part. You know ^dwhat kind of men we proved to be among you for your benefit. 6 You became ^aimitators of us and through us of the Lord, ^bafter you welcomed our ^cmessage in a time of great trouble with the ^djoy supplied by the Holy Spirit; 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in ^1aMacedonia and in ^bAchaia. 8 For ^athe word of the Lord has ^bresounded from you and has echoed like thunder, not only in ^cMacedonia and ^dAchaia, but ^ein every place the news of your great faith in God has spread, so that we never need to say anything about it. 9 For they themselves report about us, telling what kind of ^areception we had among you, and how you ^bturned to God ^cfrom idols to serve ^dthe living and true God, 10 and to look forward and confidently ^await for the coming of His Son from heaven, whom He ^braised from the dead—Jesus, who personally ^crescues us from ^dthe coming wrath and draws us to Himself, granting us all the privileges and rewards of a new life with Him.
