¹Then I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man with a ^ameasuring line in his hand. 2 So I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To ^ameasure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is.” 3 And behold, the ^aangel who had been speaking with me was going out, and another angel was going out to meet him. 4 And he said to him, “Run, speak to that ^ayoung man there, saying, ‘^bJerusalem will be inhabited ^cas open country because of the ^dmultitude of people and cattle within it. 5 But I,’ declares the LORD, ‘will be a ^awall of fire to her on all sides, and I will be the ^bglory in her midst.’”

6 “¹You there! ^aFlee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “because I have ^bspread you out like the four winds of the heavens,” declares the LORD. 7 “¹You, Zion! ^aEscape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.” 8 For the LORD of armies says this: “After ^aglory He has sent Me against the nations that plunder you, for the one who touches you, touches the ^1bapple of His eye. 9 For behold, I am going to ^awave My hand over them so that they will be ^bplunder for their slaves. Then you will know that the LORD of armies has sent Me. 10 ^aShout for joy and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will ^bdwell in your midst,” declares the LORD. 11 “And ^amany nations will join themselves to the LORD on that day and will become My people. Then I will ^bdwell in your midst, and you will ^cknow that the LORD of armies has sent Me to you. 12 And the LORD will ^1apossess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again ^bchoose Jerusalem.

13 “^1aBe silent, all ²mankind, before the LORD; for He has ^broused Himself from His holy dwelling.”

And I looked up, and saw a man with a ^ameasuring line in his hand. 2 So I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To ^ameasure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is.” 3 And behold, the ^aangel who was speaking with me was going out, and another angel was coming out to meet him, 4 and he said to the second angel, “Run, speak to that ^ayoung man, saying, ‘^bJerusalem will be inhabited like villages ^cwithout walls spreading out into the open country because of the ^dgreat number of people and livestock in it. 5 For I,’ declares the LORD, ‘will be a ^awall of fire around her protecting her from enemies, and I will be the ^bglory in her midst.’”

6 “¹Hear this! ^aFlee from Babylon the land of the north which shall come under judgment,” declares the LORD, “for I have ^bscattered you like the four winds of the heavens,” declares the LORD. 7 “Hear, Zion (Jerusalem) ! ^aEscape, ¹you who are living with the daughter of Babylon!” 8 For thus says the LORD of hosts, “After ^1aglory He has sent Me against the nations which plunder you—for he who touches you, touches the ^bapple of His eye. 9 Behold, I will ^awave my hand over them and they shall become ^bplunder for their own slaves. Then you shall know (recognize, understand fully) that the LORD of hosts has sent Me. 10 ^aSing for joy and rejoice, O Daughter of Zion; for behold, I am coming, and I will ^bdwell in your midst,” declares the LORD. 11 “^aMany nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day and shall be My people. And I will ^bdwell in your midst, and you shall ^cknow (recognize, understand fully) that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you. Is 2:3; Mic 4:2 12 The LORD will ^atake possession of Judah as His portion in the holy land and will again ^bchoose Jerusalem.

13 “^aBe still before the LORD, all mankind; for He is ^broused (raised up) from His holy habitation in response to His persecuted people.” Hab 2:20; Zeph 1:7

Then you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent Me. 10 ^aSing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold, I am coming and I will ^bdwell in your midst,” declares Yahweh. 11 “^aAnd many nations will join themselves to Yahweh in that day and will become My people. Then I will ^bdwell in your midst, and you will ^cknow that Yahweh of hosts has sent Me to you. 12 Then Yahweh will ^ainherit Judah as His portion in the holy land and will again ^bchoose Jerusalem.
