Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and speak to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “^aLet My people go, that they may serve Me. 2 For ^aif you refuse to let them go and ¹continue to hold them, 3 behold, ^athe hand of the LORD ¹will come with a very severe pestilence on your livestock which are in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the herds, and on the flocks. 4 ^aBut the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that ^bnothing will die of all that belongs to the sons of Israel.”’” 5 The LORD set a definite time, saying, “Tomorrow the LORD will do this thing in the land.” 6 So the LORD did this thing on the next day, and ^aall the livestock of Egypt died; ^bbut of the livestock of the sons of Israel, not one died. 7 Pharaoh sent, and behold, there was not even one of the livestock of Israel dead. But ^athe heart of Pharaoh was ¹hardened, and he did not let the people go.

8 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take for yourselves handfuls of soot from a kiln, and let Moses throw it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh. 9 It will become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and will become ^aboils breaking out with sores on man and beast through all the land of Egypt.” 10 So they took soot from a kiln, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses threw it toward the sky, and it became boils breaking out with sores on man and beast. 11 ^aThe ¹magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were on the magicians ²as well as on all the Egyptians. 12 And ^athe LORD ¹hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not listen to them, just as the LORD had spoken to Moses.

13 Then the LORD said to Moses, “^aRise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “^bLet My people go, that they may serve Me. 14 For this time I will send all My plagues ¹on you and your servants and your people, so that ^ayou may know that there is no one like Me in all the earth. 15 For if by now I had put forth My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, you would then have been cut off from the earth. 16 But, indeed, ^afor this reason I have allowed you to ¹remain, in order to show you My power and in order to proclaim My name through all the earth. 17 Still you exalt yourself against My people ¹by not letting them go.

18 Behold, about this time tomorrow, ^aI will ¹send a very heavy hail, such as has not been seen in Egypt from the day it was founded ²until now. 19 Now therefore send, bring ^ayour livestock and whatever you have in the field to safety. ^bEvery man and beast that is found in the field and is not brought home, when the hail comes down on them, will die.”’” 20 ^aThe one among the servants of Pharaoh who ¹feared the word of the LORD made his servants and his livestock flee into the houses; 21 but he who ¹paid no regard to the word of the LORD ²left his servants and his livestock in the field.

22 Now the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that ^1ahail may fall on all the land of Egypt, on man and on beast and on every plant of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.” 23 Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, and the LORD ¹sent ²thunder and ^ahail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt. 24 So there was hail, and fire ¹flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very severe, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 ^aThe hail struck all that was in the field through all the land of Egypt, both man and beast; the hail also struck every plant of the field and shattered every tree of the field. 26 ^aOnly in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel were, there was no hail.

27 Then Pharaoh ^1asent for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “^bI have sinned this time; the LORD is the righteous one, and I and my people are the wicked ones. 28 ^aMake supplication to the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s ¹thunder and hail; and ^bI will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.” 29 Moses said to him, “As soon as I go out of the city, I will ^aspread out my ¹hands to the LORD; the ²thunder will cease and there will be hail no longer, that you may know that ^bthe earth is the LORD’S. 30 ^aBut as for you and your servants, I know that ^byou do not yet ¹fear ²the LORD God.” 31 (Now the flax and the ^abarley were ¹ruined, for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud. 32 But the wheat and the spelt were not ¹ruined, for they ripen late.) 33 ^aSo Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread out his ¹hands to the LORD; and the ²thunder and the hail ceased, and rain ³no longer poured on the earth. 34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the ¹thunder had ceased, he sinned again and ²hardened his heart, he and his servants. 35 Pharaoh’s heart was ¹hardened, and he did not let the sons of Israel go, just as the ^aLORD had spoken through Moses.

13 Then the LORD said to Moses, “^aRise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews says: “^bLet My people go, so that they may serve Me. 14 For this time I am going to send all My plagues ¹on you and your servants and your people, so that ^ayou may know that there is no one like Me in all the earth. 15 For had I now put out My hand and struck you and your people with plague, you would then have been eliminated from the earth. 16 But indeed, ^afor this reason I have allowed you to ¹remain, in order to show you My power and in order to proclaim My name throughout the earth. 17 Still you exalt yourself against My people ¹by not letting them go.

18 Behold, about this time tomorrow, ^aI will ¹send a very heavy hail, such as has not been seen in Egypt from the day it was founded ²until now. 19 So now, send word, bring ^ayour livestock and whatever you have in the field to safety. ^bEvery person and animal that is found in the field and is not brought home, when the hail comes down on them, will die.”’” 20 ^aEveryone among the servants of Pharaoh who ¹feared the word of the LORD hurried to bring his servants and his livestock into the houses; 21 but everyone who ¹did not pay regard to the word of the LORD ²left his servants and his livestock in the field.

22 Now the LORD said to Moses, “Reach out with your hand toward the sky, so that ^1ahail may fall on all the land of Egypt, on every person and animal, and on every plant of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.” 23 So Moses reached out with his staff toward the sky, and the LORD ¹sent ²thunder and ^ahail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt. 24 So there was hail, and fire flashing intermittently in the midst of the hail, which was very heavy, such as had not occurred in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 ^aThe hail struck everything that was in the field through all the land of Egypt, from people to animals; the hail also struck every plant of the field, and shattered every tree of the field. 26 ^aOnly in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel were, was there no hail.

27 Then Pharaoh ^1asent for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “^bI have sinned this time; the LORD is the righteous one, and I and my people are the wicked ones. 28 ^aPlead with the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s ¹thunder and hail; and ^bI will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.” 29 Moses said to him, “As soon as I go out of the city, I will ^aspread out my ¹hands to the LORD; the ²thunder will cease and there will no longer be hail, so that you may know that ^bthe earth is the LORD’S. 30 ^aBut as for you and your servants, I know that ^byou do not yet ¹fear ²the LORD God.” 31 (Now the flax and the ^abarley were ¹ruined, for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud. 32 But the wheat and the spelt were not ¹ruined, for they ripen late.) 33 ^aSo Moses left the city from his meeting with Pharaoh, and spread out his ¹hands to the LORD; and the ²thunder and the hail stopped, and rain ³no longer poured on the earth. 34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the ¹thunder had stopped, he sinned again and ²hardened his heart, he and his servants. 35 So Pharaoh’s heart was ¹hardened, and he did not let the sons of Israel go, just as the ^aLORD had spoken through Moses.

Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Come to Pharaoh and speak to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, “^aLet My people go, that they may serve Me. 2 For ^aif you refuse to let them go and ¹continue to hold them, 3 behold, ^athe hand of Yahweh ¹will come with a very heavy pestilence on your livestock which are in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the herds, and on the flocks. 4 ^aBut Yahweh will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that ^bnothing will die of all that belongs to the sons of Israel.”’” 5 Yahweh also set a definite time, saying, “Tomorrow Yahweh will do this thing in the land.” 6 So Yahweh did this thing on the next day, and ^aall the livestock of Egypt died; ^bbut of the livestock of the sons of Israel, not one died. 7 And Pharaoh sent, and behold, there was not even one of the livestock of Israel dead. But ^athe heart of Pharaoh was ¹hardened with firmness, and he did not let the people go.

8 Then Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, “Take for yourselves handfuls of soot from a kiln, and let Moses toss it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh. 9 And it will become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and it will become ^aboils breaking out with sores on man and beast through all the land of Egypt.” 10 So they took the soot from the kiln and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses tossed it toward the sky, and it became boils breaking out with sores on man and beast. 11 ^aAnd the ¹magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were on the magicians ²as well as on all the Egyptians. 12 And ^aYahweh ¹hardened Pharaoh’s heart with strength, and he did not listen to them, just as Yahweh had spoken to Moses.

13 And Yahweh said to Moses, “^aRise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh, and you shall say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, “^bLet My people go, that they may serve Me. 14 For this time I will send all My plagues against your heart and amongst your servants and your people, so that ^ayou may know that there is no one like Me in all the earth. 15 For if by now I had sent forth My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, you would then have been wiped out from the earth. 16 But, indeed, ^afor this reason I have caused you to stand, in order to show you My power and in order to recount My name through all the earth. 17 Still you ¹exalt yourself against My people ²by not letting them go. 18 Behold, about this time tomorrow, ^aI will rain down very heavy hail, such as has not been seen in Egypt from the day it was founded ¹until now. 19 So now, send, bring ^ayour livestock and whatever you have in the field to safety. ^bEvery man and beast that is found in the field and is not brought home, the hail will come down on them, and they will die.”’” 20 ^aThe one among the servants of Pharaoh who ¹feared the word of Yahweh made his servants and his livestock flee into the houses; 21 but he who did not ¹consider in his heart the word of Yahweh ²left his servants and his livestock in the field.

22 Now Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that ^athere may be hail on all the land of Egypt, on man and on beast and on every plant of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.” 23 So Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, and Yahweh gave forth ¹thunder and ^ahail, and fire went down to the earth. And Yahweh rained down hail on the land of Egypt. 24 So there was hail, and fire ¹flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 ^aAnd the hail struck all that was in the field through all the land of Egypt, from man to beast; the hail also struck every plant of the field and shattered every tree of the field. 26 ^aOnly in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel were, there was no hail.

27 Then Pharaoh ^asent and called for Moses and Aaron and said to them, “^bI have sinned this time; Yahweh is the righteous one, and I and my people are the wicked ones. 28 ^aEntreat Yahweh, for God’s ¹thunder and hail are too much; and ^bI will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.” 29 And Moses said to him, “As soon as I go out of the city, I will ^aspread out my ¹hands to Yahweh; the ²thunder will cease, and there will be hail no longer, that you may know that ^bthe earth is Yahweh’s. 30 ^aBut as for you and your servants, I know that ^byou do not yet ¹fear ²Yahweh God.” 31 (Now the flax and the ^abarley were struck down, for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud. 32 But the wheat and the spelt were not struck down, for they are late-ripening.) 33 ^aAnd Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and spread out his ¹hands to Yahweh; and the ²thunder and the hail ceased, and rain ³no longer poured on the earth. 34 But Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the ¹thunder had ceased. So he sinned again and ²hardened his heart with firmness, he and his servants. 35 And Pharaoh’s heart was ¹hardened with strength, and he did not let the sons of Israel go, just as ^aYahweh had spoken by the hand of Moses.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews: “^aLet My people go, so that they may serve Me. 2 ^aBut if you refuse to let them go and continue to hold them, 3 now hear this: ^athe hand of the LORD will fall on your livestock which are out in the field, on the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds, and the flocks—a horrible plague shall come. 4 ^aBut the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that ^bnothing that belongs to the Israelites will die.”’” 5 The LORD set a definite time, saying, “Tomorrow the LORD will do this thing in the land.” 6 And the LORD did this thing the next day, and ^aall kinds of the livestock of Egypt died; but ^bof the livestock of the Israelites, not one died. 7 Then Pharaoh sent men to investigate, and not even one of the livestock of the Israelites had died. But ^athe heart of Pharaoh was hardened and his mind was firmly set, and he did not let the people go.

8 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from the brick kiln, and let Moses throw it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh. 9 It will become fine dust over the entire land of Egypt, and it will become ^aboils breaking out in sores on man and animal in all the land occupied by the Egyptians.” 10 So they took soot from the kiln, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses threw it toward the sky, and it became boils erupting in sores on man and animal. 11 ^aThe magicians (soothsayer-priests) could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were on the magicians as well as on all the Egyptians. 12 But ^athe LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen or pay attention to them, just as the LORD had told Moses.

13 Then the LORD said to Moses, “^aGet up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “^bLet My people go, so that they may serve Me. 14 For this time I will send all My plagues ¹on you in full force, and on your servants and on your people, so that ^ayou may know without any doubt and acknowledge that there is no one like Me in all the earth. 15 For by now I could have put out My hand and struck you and your people with a pestilence, and you would then have been cut off (obliterated) from the earth. 16 But indeed ^afor this very reason I have allowed you to live, in order to show you My power and in order that My name may be proclaimed throughout all the earth. Rom 9:17-24

17 Since you are still arrogantly exalting yourself in defiance against My people by not letting them go, 18 hear this: tomorrow about this time ^aI will send a very heavy and dreadful hail, such as has not been seen in Egypt from the day it was founded until now. 19 Now therefore send a message, bring ^ayour livestock and whatever you have in the field to safety. ^bEvery man and animal that is in the field and is not brought home shall be struck by the hail and shall die.”’” 20 Then ^aeveryone among the servants of Pharaoh who feared the word of the LORD made his servants and his livestock flee into the houses and shelters; 21 but everyone who ¹ignored and did not take seriously the word of the LORD left his servants and his livestock in the field.

22 Now the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand with your staff toward the sky, so that there may be ^ahail in all the land of Egypt, on man and on animal and on all the vegetation of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.” 23 Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, and the LORD sent thunder and ^ahail, and lightning (fireballs) ran down to the earth and along the ground. And the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt. 24 So there was hail, and lightning (fireballs) flashing intermittently in the midst of the extremely heavy hail, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 ^aThe hail struck down everything that was in the field throughout all the land of Egypt, both man and animal; the hail struck and beat down all the plants in the field and shattered every tree in the field. 26 ^aOnly in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel lived, was there no hail.

27 Then Pharaoh ^asent for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “^bI have sinned this time; the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. 28 ^aPray and entreat the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s ¹thunder and hail; ^bI will let you go, and you shall stay here no longer.” 29 Moses said to him, “As soon as I leave the city, I will ^astretch out my hands to the LORD; the thunder will cease and there will be no more hail, so that you may know without any doubt and acknowledge that ^bthe earth is the LORD’S. 30 ^aBut as for you and your servants, I know that ^byou do not yet fear the LORD God.” 31 (Now the flax and the ^abarley were battered and ruined by the hail, because the barley was in the ear (ripe, but soft) and the flax was in bud, 32 but the wheat and spelt (coarse wheat) were not battered and ruined, because they ripen late in the season.) 33 ^aSo Moses left the city and Pharaoh, and stretched out his hands to the LORD; then the ¹thunder and hail ceased, and rain no longer poured on the earth. 34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned again and hardened his heart, both he and his servants. 35 Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not let the Israelites go, just as the ^aLORD had said through Moses.
