^aAnswer me when ^bI call, O God ¹of my righteousness!You have ²^crelieved me in my distress;Be ^dgracious to me and ^ehear my prayer.

2 O sons of men, how long will ^amy ¹honor become ^ba reproach?How long will you love ^cwhat is worthless and aim at ^ddeception?²Selah.3 But know that the LORD has ¹^aset apart the ^bgodly man for Himself;The LORD ^chears when I call to Him.

4 ¹^aTremble, ²^band do not sin;³^cMeditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still.Selah.5 Offer ¹the ^asacrifices of righteousness,And ^btrust in the LORD.

6 Many are saying, “^aWho will show us any good?”^bLift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O LORD!7 You have put ^agladness in my heart,More than when their grain and new wine abound.8 In peace I will ¹both ^alie down and sleep,For You alone, O LORD, make me to ^bdwell in safety.

^aAnswer me when ^bI call, O God of my righteousness!You have ^cfreed me when I was hemmed in and relieved me when I was in distress;Be ^dgracious to me and ^ehear and respond to my prayer.

2 O sons of men, how long will ^amy honor and glory be turned into ^bshame?How long will you my enemies love ^cworthless (vain, futile) things and seek ^ddeception and lies?Selah.3 But know that the LORD has ^aset apart for Himself and dealt wonderfully with the ^bgodly man the one of honorable character and moral courage—the one who does right.The LORD ^chears and responds when I call to Him.

4 ^aTremble with anger or fear, ^band do not sin;^cMeditate in your heart upon your bed and be still reflect on your sin and repent of your rebellion. Eph 4:26Selah.5 Offer righteous ^asacrifices;^bTrust confidently in the LORD.

6 Many are saying, “Oh, ^athat we might see some good!”^bLift up the light of Your face upon us, O LORD.7 You have put ^ajoy in my heart,More than others know when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly.8 In peace and with a tranquil heart I will both ^alie down and sleep,For You alone, O LORD, make me ^bdwell in safety and confident trust.
