48 Their ¹relatives the Levites were given over unto all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

49 But Aaron and his sons ^aoffered offerings up in smoke on the altar of burnt offering and ^bon the altar of incense, for all the work of the Holy of Holies, and ^cto make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded. 50 ^aThese are the sons of Aaron:

54 Now these are their settlements according to their camps within their borders. To the sons of Aaron of the families of the Kohathites (for the ^alot was theirs first), 55 to them they gave ^aHebron in the land of Judah, with its pasture lands all around it; 56 ^abut the fields of the city and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh. 57 ^aTo the sons of Aaron they gave the following cities of refuge:

64 ^aSo the sons of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their pasture lands. 65 They also gave by lot from the tribe of the sons of Judah, the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, ^athese cities which are mentioned here by name.

66 ^aNow some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their territory from the tribe of Ephraim. 67 And they gave to them the following cities of refuge:

Josh 21:5 62 To the sons of Gershom, according to their families, were given thirteen cities from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the other half of Manasseh in Bashan. 63 ^aTo the sons of Merari were given twelve cities by lot, according to their families, from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun. 64 ^aSo the sons of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their pasture lands. 65 They gave by lot from the tribes of the sons of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin ^athese cities which are mentioned by name.

66 ^aSome of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their allotted territory from the tribe of Ephraim. 67 They gave to the Levites the following cities of refuge: Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim with its pasture lands, Gezer with its pasture lands; 68 Jokmeam and Beth-horon with their pasture lands, 69 Aijalon and Gath-rimmon, with their pasture lands; 70 and from the half-tribe of Manasseh these cities, with their pasture lands: Aner and Bileam, for the rest of the families of the sons of Kohath.
