And the word of Yahweh came to me saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face toward the ^amountains of Israel, and prophesy against them 3 and say, ‘Mountains of Israel, hear the word of Lord Yahweh! Thus says Lord Yahweh to the mountains, the hills, the ravines, and the valleys: “Behold, I Myself am going to bring a sword on you, and ^aI will destroy your high places. 4 So your ^aaltars will become desolate, and your incense altars will be broken; and I will make your slain fall in front of your idols. 5 I will also put the dead bodies of the sons of Israel in front of their idols; and I will scatter your ^abones all around your altars. 6 In all your places of habitation, ^acities will become waste, and the high places will be desolate, that your altars may become waste and ¹desolate, your ^bidols may be broken and cease, your incense altars may be cut in pieces, and your works may be blotted out. 7 The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am Yahweh.

8 “However, I will leave a ^aremnant, for you will have those who ^bescaped the sword among the nations when you are scattered among the lands. 9 Then those of you who escape will ^aremember Me among the nations to which they will be carried captive, how I have ^bbeen broken over their adulterous hearts which turned away from Me, and by their eyes which played the harlot after their idols; and they will ^cloathe themselves to their own faces for the evils which they have done, for all their abominations. 10 Then they will know that I am Yahweh; I have not said in vain that I would do this calamitous evil against them.”’

11 “Thus says Lord Yahweh, ‘Strike your hands together, ^astamp your foot and say, “^bAlas, because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, which will fall by the ^csword, by the famine, and by the plague! 12 He who is ^afar off will die by the plague, and he who is near will fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged will die by the famine. Thus will I ^bspend My wrath on them. 13 Then you will know that I am Yahweh when their ^aslain are among their idols all around their altars, on ^bevery high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every green tree, and under every leafy oak—the places where they ¹offered a soothing aroma to all their idols. 14 So throughout all their habitations I will ^astretch out My hand against them and make the land more desolate and desecrated than the wilderness toward Diblah; thus they will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

And the word of the LORD came to me saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face toward the ^amountains of Israel, and prophesy against them 3 and say, ‘Mountains of Israel, listen to the word of the Lord ¹GOD! Thus says the Lord ²GOD to the mountains, the hills, the ravines and the valleys: “Behold, I Myself am going to bring a sword on you, and ^aI will destroy your high places. 4 So your ^aaltars will become desolate and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will make your slain fall in front of your idols. 5 I will also lay the dead bodies of the sons of Israel in front of their idols; and I will scatter your ^abones around your altars. 6 In all your dwellings, ^acities will become waste and the high places will be desolate, that your altars may become waste and ¹desolate, your ^bidols may be broken and brought to an end, your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be blotted out. 7 The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am the LORD.

8 “However, I will leave a ^aremnant, for you will have those who ^bescaped the sword among the nations when you are scattered among the countries. 9 Then those of you who escape will ^aremember Me among the nations to which they will be carried captive, how I have ^1bbeen hurt by their adulterous hearts which turned away from Me, and by their eyes which played the harlot after their idols; and they will ^cloathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed, for all their abominations. 10 Then they will know that I am the LORD; I have not said in vain ¹that I would inflict this disaster on them.”’

11 “Thus says the Lord ¹GOD, ‘Clap your hand, ^astamp your foot and say, “^bAlas, because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, which will fall by ^csword, famine and plague! 12 He who is ^afar off will die by the plague, and he who is near will fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged will die by the famine. Thus will I ^bspend My wrath on them. 13 Then you will know that I am the LORD, when their ^aslain are among their idols around their altars, on ^bevery high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every green tree and under every leafy oak—the places where they offered soothing aroma to all their idols. 14 So throughout all their habitations I will ^astretch out My hand against them and make the land more desolate and waste than the wilderness toward Diblah; thus they will know that I am the LORD.”’”

And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face against the ^amountains of Israel and prophesy against them, 3 and say, ‘You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD! Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and the hills, to the ravines and the valleys: “Behold, I Myself am going to bring a sword on you, and ^aI will destroy your high places of idolatrous worship, 4 and your ^aaltars will become deserted and your pillars for sun-worship will be smashed in pieces; and I will throw down your slain in front of your idols that cannot bring them back to life. Lev 26:30 5 I will also lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel in front of their Canaanite idols; and I will scatter your ^abones all around your altars. 6 Everywhere you live, the ^acities will become waste and the high places will become deserted, so that your altars may bear their guilt and become deserted, your ^bidols may be broken and destroyed, your incense altars for sun-worship may be cut down, and your works may be blotted out. 7 The slain will fall among you, then you shall know without any doubt that I am the LORD.

8 “Yet I will leave ^asome of you alive a remnant, for you will have some who ^bescaped the sword among the nations when you are scattered throughout the countries. 9 Then those of you who escape will ^aremember Me among the nations to which they will be exiled, how I have ^bbeen broken by their lewdness and their adulterous hearts which have turned away from Me, and by their eyes which lust after their idols; and they will ^cloathe themselves for the evils which they have committed, for all their repulsive acts. 10 Then they will know without any doubt that I am the LORD; I have not said in vain that I would bring this disaster as punishment on them.”’

11 “Thus says the Lord GOD, ‘Strike with your fist, ^astamp with your foot and say, “^bAlas, because of all the evil atrocities of the house of Israel, which will fall by ^csword, by famine, and by virulent disease! 12 He who is ^afar away will die of the virulent disease, and he who is near will fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged will die by the famine. Thus I will ^bspend My wrath on them. 13 Then you will know without any doubt that I am the LORD, when their ^aslain are among their idols around their altars, on ^bevery high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every leafy tree and under every oak with thick branches, the places where they offered sweet incense and a soothing aroma to all their idols. 14 And I will ^astretch out My hand against them and make the land a more desolate waste than the wilderness toward Diblah the Moabite city, throughout all the places where they live; and they will know without any doubt that I am the LORD.”’”
