Castigo de los enemigos de Judá

Congregaos, congregaos^a,oh nación sin pudor¹^b,2 antes que entre en vigencia¹ el decreto(como tamo pasa el día^a),antes que venga sobre vosotrosel ardor de la ira del SEÑOR^b,antes que venga sobre vosotrosel día de la ira del SEÑOR^c.3 Buscad al SEÑOR^a,vosotros todos, humildes de la tierra^bque habéis cumplido sus preceptos¹;buscad la justicia, buscad la humildad^c.Quizá seréis protegidos²el día de la ira del SEÑOR^d.

4 Porque Gaza^a será abandonada,y Ascalón^b desolada;Asdod^c será expulsada al mediodía,y Ecrón^d será desarraigada.5 ¡Ay de los habitantes de la costa del mar,la nación de los cereteos¹^a!La palabra del SEÑOR está contra vosotros^b:Canaán, tierra de los filisteos^c,yo te destruiré hasta que no quede habitante alguno^d.6 Y la costa del mar se convertirá en pastizales,en praderas¹ para pastores y apriscos para ovejas^a.7 La costa serápara el remanente^a de la casa de Judá;allí apacentarán^by en las casas de Ascalón reposarán al atardecer;porque el SEÑOR su Dios los cuidará^cy los hará volver de su cautiverio¹^d.

8 He oído las afrentas de Moab^ay los ultrajes de los hijos de Amón^b,con los cuales afrentaron a mi puebloy se engrandecieron sobre su territorio^c.9 Por tanto, vivo yo—declara el SEÑOR de los ejércitos,Dios de Israel—que Moab^a será como Sodoma^b,y los hijos de Amón^c como Gomorra^d:campo de ortigas y mina de sal,una desolación perpetua.El remanente de mi pueblo los saqueará^e,y el resto de mi nación los heredará.

10 Esto tendrán ellos como pago por su orgullo^a, porque han afrentado^b y se han engrandecido sobre el pueblo del SEÑOR de los ejércitos. 11 Terrible será el SEÑOR contra ellos^a, porque debilitará¹ a todos los dioses de la tierra^b; y se inclinarán a Él^c todas las costas de las naciones cada una desde su lugar.

12 También vosotros, etíopes, seréis muertos por mi espada^a.

13 El extenderá su mano contra el norte^ay destruirá a Asiria^b,y hará de Nínive una desolación^c,árida como el desierto;14 y se echarán en medio de ella los rebaños,toda clase de animales¹,tanto el pelícano² como el erizo^apasarán la noche en los capiteles;el ave³ cantará en la ventana,habrá desolación en el umbral,porque Él ha dejado al descubierto el entablado de cedro.15 Esta es la ciudad divertida^aque vivía confiada^b,que decía en su corazón:Yo soy, y no hay otra más que yo^c.¡Cómo ha sido hecha una desolación^d,una guarida de fieras!Todo el que pase por ella silbaráy agitará su mano^e.

Judgments on Judah’s Enemies

Gather yourselves together, yes, ^ajoin together,You nation ^bwithout ¹shame,2 Before the decree ¹takes effect—The day passes ^alike chaff—Before the ^bburning anger of the LORD comes upon you,Before the ^cday of the LORD’S anger comes upon you.3 ^aSeek the LORD,All you ^bhumble of the ¹earthWho have practiced His ²ordinances;^cSeek righteousness, seek humility.Perhaps you will ^dremain hiddenOn the day of the LORD’S anger.

4 For ^aGaza will be abandoned,And Ashkelon will become a desolation;The inhabitants of ^bAshdod will be driven out at noon,And ^cEkron will be uprooted.5 Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast,The nation of the ¹^aCherethites!The word of the LORD is ^bagainst you,^cCanaan, land of the Philistines;And I will ^deliminate youSo that there will be ^eno inhabitant.6 So the seacoast will become ^agrazing places,With pastures for shepherds and folds for flocks.7 And the coast will beFor the ^aremnant of the house of Judah,They will ^bdrive sheep to pasture on it.In the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down at evening;For the LORD their God will ^ccare for themAnd ^drestore their fortunes.

8 “I have heard the ^ataunting of MoabAnd the ^babusive speech of the sons of Ammon,With which they have taunted My peopleAnd ^cboasted against their territory.9 “Therefore, as I live,” declares the LORD of armies,The God of Israel,“^aMoab will assuredly be like ^bSodom,And the sons of ^cAmmon like ^dGomorrah—Ground overgrown with weeds and full of salt mines,And a permanent desolation.The remnant of My people will ^eplunder them,And the remainder of My nation will inherit them.”

10 This they will have in return for their ^aarrogance, because they have ^btaunted and boasted against the people of the LORD of armies. 11 The LORD will be ^aterrifying to them, for He will ¹starve ^ball the gods of the earth; and all the ^ccoastlands of the nations will ^dbow down to Him, everyone from his own place.

12 “You also, ^aEthiopians, will be slain by My sword.”13 And He will ^astretch out His hand against the northAnd eliminate ^bAssyria,And He will make ^cNineveh a desolation,Parched like the wilderness.14 Flocks will lie down in her midst,¹All animals that range in herds;Both the ²^apelican and the hedgehogWill spend their nights in ³the tops of her pillars;⁴Birds will sing in the window,Devastation will be on the threshold;For He has uncovered the cedar work.15 This is the ^apresumptuous cityThat ^bdwells securely,Who says in her heart,“^cI am, and there is no one besides me.”How she has become a ^ddesolation,A resting place for animals!^eEveryone who passes by her will ¹hissAnd wave his hand in contempt.
