El dragón se paró¹ sobre la arena del mar².

Y vi que subía del mar una bestia^a que tenía diez cuernos^b y siete cabezas^c; en sus cuernos había diez diademas^3d, y en sus cabezas había nombres blasfemos^e. 2 La bestia que vi era semejante a un leopardo^a, sus pies eran como los de un oso^b y su boca como la boca de un león^c. Y el dragón^d le dio su poder, su trono^e y gran autoridad. 3 Y vi una de sus cabezas como herida de muerte, pero su herida mortal^a fue sanada. Y la tierra entera se maravilló^b y seguía tras la bestia; 4 y adoraron al dragón, porque había dado autoridad^a a la bestia; y adoraron a la bestia, diciendo: ¿Quién es semejante a la bestia^b, y quién puede luchar contra ella? 5 Se le dio una boca que hablaba palabras arrogantes^1a y blasfemias, y se le dio autoridad para actuar² durante cuarenta y dos meses^b. 6 Y abrió su boca en blasfemias contra Dios, para blasfemar su nombre y su tabernáculo, es decir, contra los que moran en el cielo^a. 7 Se le concedió hacer guerra contra los santos^a y vencerlos; y se le dio autoridad sobre toda tribu, pueblo, lengua y nación^b. 8 Y la adorarán todos los que moran en la tierra^a, cuyos nombres no han sido escritos^b, desde la fundación del mundo^c, en el libro de la vida del Cordero que fue inmolado^1d. 9 Si alguno tiene oído, que oiga^a. 10 Si alguno es destinado a la cautividad, a la cautividad va^a; si alguno ha de morir a espada^b, a espada ha de morir. Aquí está la perseverancia^c y la fe de los santos.

11 Y vi otra bestia^a que subía de la tierra; tenía dos cuernos semejantes a los de un cordero^b y hablaba como un dragón^c. 12 Ejerce toda la autoridad de la primera bestia^a en su presencia^1b, y hace que la tierra y los que moran en ella^c adoren a la primera bestia^d, cuya herida mortal fue sanada^e. 13 También hace grandes señales^a, de tal manera que aun hace descender fuego del cielo^b a la tierra en presencia de los hombres. 14 Además engaña^a a los que moran en la tierra^b a causa de las señales que se le concedió hacer^c en presencia de¹ la bestia^d, diciendo a los moradores de la tierra que hagan una imagen de la bestia que tenía* la herida de la espada^e y que ha vuelto a vivir. 15 Se le concedió dar aliento a la imagen de la bestia, para que la imagen de la bestia también hablara e hiciera¹ dar muerte a todos^a los que no adoran la imagen^b de la bestia. 16 Y hace que a todos, pequeños y grandes, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos^a, se les dé¹ una marca^b en la mano derecha o en la frente, 17 y que nadie pueda comprar ni vender, sino el que tenga la marca^a: el nombre de la bestia^b o el número de su nombre^c. 18 Aquí hay sabiduría^a. El que tiene entendimiento, que calcule el número de la bestia, porque el número es el de un hombre^b, y su número es seiscientos sesenta y seis¹.

And the dragon stood on the sand of the ¹seashore.

Then I saw a ^abeast coming up out of the sea, having ^bten horns and ^cseven heads, and on his horns were ^dten crowns, and on his heads were ^eblasphemous names. 2 And the beast that I saw was ^alike a leopard, and his feet were like those of ^ba bear, and his mouth like the mouth of ^ca lion. And the ^ddragon gave him his power and his ^ethrone, and great authority. 3 I saw one of his heads as if it had been ¹fatally wounded, and his ^afatal wound was healed. And the whole earth ^bwas amazed and followed after the beast; 4 they worshiped the ^adragon because he ^bgave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “^cWho is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?” 5 A mouth was given to him ^aspeaking ¹arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for ^bforty-two months was given to him. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, ^athose who dwell in heaven.

7 It was also given to him to ^amake war with the ¹saints and to overcome them, and authority was given to him over ^bevery tribe, people, language, and nation. 8 All who ^alive on the earth will worship him, everyone ^bwhose name has not been ¹written ^csince the foundation of the world in the ^dbook of life of ^ethe Lamb who has been slaughtered. 9 ^aIf anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 ^aIf anyone ¹is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; ^bif anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is ^cthe ²perseverance and the faith of the ³saints.

11 Then ^aI saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had ^btwo horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a ^cdragon. 12 He ^aexercises all the authority of the first beast ^1bin his presence. And he makes ^cthe earth and those who live on it ^dworship the first beast, whose ^efatal wound was healed. 13 He ^aperforms great signs, so that he even makes ^bfire come down out of the sky to the earth in the presence of people. 14 And he ^adeceives ^bthose who live on the earth because of ^cthe signs which it was given him to perform ^1din the presence of the beast, telling those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who *had the ^ewound of the sword and has come to life. 15 And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even ¹speak and cause ^aall who do not ^bworship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 And he causes all, ^athe small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, ¹to be given a ^bmark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 and he decrees that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the ^amark, either ^bthe name of the beast or ^cthe number of his name. 18 ^aHere is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that ^bof a ¹man; and his number is ²six hundred and sixty-six.
