Él que ama la instrucción¹ ama el conocimiento,pero el que odia la reprensión es torpe.2 El bueno alcanzará el favor del SEÑOR^a,mas Él condenará al hombre de malos designios.3 El hombre no se afianzará por medio de la impiedad^a,y la raíz de los justos no será removida^b.4 La mujer virtuosa es corona de su marido^a,mas la que lo avergüenza es como podredumbre en sus huesos^b.5 Los pensamientos de los justos son rectos,los consejos de los impíos, engañosos.6 Las palabras de los impíos son asechanzas sangrientas^a,pero a los rectos su boca los librará^b.7 Los impíos son derribados y ya no existen^a,pero la casa de los justos permanecerá^b.8 El hombre será alabado conforme a su discernimiento,pero el perverso de corazón será despreciado.9 Más vale el poco estimado que tiene siervo,que el que se alaba y carece de pan.10 El justo se preocupa de la vida de su ganado^a,pero las entrañas de los impíos son crueles.11 Él que labra su tierra se saciará de pan^a,pero el que persigue lo vano carece de entendimiento¹.12 El impío codicia el botín¹ de los malos^a,pero la raíz de los justos da fruto^b.13 En la transgresión de sus labios se enreda el malvado¹,pero el justo escapará del apuro^a.14 Por el fruto de su boca cada cual se saciará de bien^a,y las obras de las manos del hombre volverán a él^b.15 El camino del necio es recto a sus propios ojos^a,mas el que escucha consejos es sabio.16 El enojo del necio^a se conoce al instante,mas el prudente oculta la deshonra.17 Él que habla¹ verdad declara lo que es justo,pero el testigo falso, falsedad.18 Hay quien habla sin tino como golpes de espada^a,pero la lengua de los sabios sana^b.19 Los labios veraces permanecerán para siempre,pero la lengua mentirosa,solo por un momento^a.20 Hay engaño en el corazón de los que traman el mal,y gozo en los consejeros de paz.21 Ningún daño sobreviene al justo^a,mas los impíos están llenos de pesares.22 Los labios mentirosos son abominación al SEÑOR^a,pero los que obran fielmente son su deleite.23 El hombre prudente oculta su conocimiento,pero el corazón de los necios proclama su necedad^a.24 La mano de los diligentes gobernará,pero la indolencia será sujeta a trabajos forzados^a.25 La ansiedad en el corazón del hombre lo deprime^a,mas la buena palabra^b lo alegra.26 El justo es guía para su prójimo,pero el camino de los impíos los extravía.27 El indolente¹ no asa² su presa,pero la posesión más preciosa del hombre es la diligencia^a.28 En la senda de la justicia está la vida^a,y en su camino no hay muerte.

Contrast of the Upright and the Wicked

One who loves ¹discipline loves knowledge,But one who hates rebuke is stupid.2 A ^agood person will obtain favor from the LORD,But He will condemn a person ¹who devises evil.3 A person will ^anot be established by wickedness,But the root of the ^brighteous will not be moved.4 An ¹^aexcellent wife is the crown of her husband,But she who shames him is like ^brottenness in his bones.5 The thoughts of the righteous are just,But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.6 The ^awords of the wicked wait in ambush for blood,But the ^bmouth of the upright will rescue them.7 The ^awicked are overthrown and are no more,But the ^bhouse of the righteous will stand.8 A person will be praised according to his insight,But one of perverse ¹mind will be despised.9 Better is one who is lightly esteemed and has a servant,Than one who honors himself and lacks bread.10 A ^arighteous person has regard for the life of his animal,But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.11 One ^awho works his land will have plenty of bread,But one who pursues worthless things lacks ¹sense.12 The ^awicked person desires the ¹plunder of evil people,But the root of the righteous ^byields fruit.13 ¹An evil person is ensnared by the offense of his lips,But the ^arighteous will escape from trouble.14 A person will be ^asatisfied with good by the fruit of his ¹words,And the ^bdeeds of a person’s hands will return to him.15 The ^away of a fool is right in his own eyes,But a person who listens to advice is wise.16 A ^afool’s anger is known at once,But a prudent person conceals dishonor.17 One who declares truth tells what is right,But a false witness, deceit.18 There is one who ^aspeaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword,But the ^btongue of the wise brings healing.19 Truthful lips will endure forever,But a ^alying tongue is only for a moment.20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,But counselors of peace have joy.21 ^aNo harm happens to the righteous,But the wicked are filled with trouble.22 ^aLying lips are an abomination to the LORD,But those who deal faithfully are His delight.23 A ^aprudent person conceals knowledge,But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.24 The hand of the diligent will rule,But the ¹lazy hand will be ^aput to forced labor.25 ^aAnxiety in a person’s heart weighs it down,But a ^bgood word makes it glad.26 The righteous person is a guide to his neighbor,But the way of the wicked leads them astray.27 ¹A lazy person does not ²roast his prey,But the ^aprecious possession of a person is diligence.28 ^aIn the way of righteousness there is life,And in its pathway there is no death.
