»No os haréis ídolos^a, ni os levantaréis imagen tallada^b ni pilares sagrados^c, ni pondréis en vuestra tierra piedra grabada^d para inclinaros ante¹ ella; porque yo soy el SEÑOR vuestro Dios. 2 Guardaréis mis días de reposo^a, y tendréis en reverencia mi santuario; yo soy el SEÑOR. 3 ^aSi andáis en mis estatutos y guardáis mis mandamientos para ponerlos por obra, 4 yo os daré lluvias en su tiempo^a, de manera que la tierra dará sus productos, y los árboles del campo darán su fruto. 5 Ciertamente, vuestra trilla os durará hasta la vendimia, y la vendimia hasta el tiempo de la siembra. Comeréis, pues, vuestro pan hasta que os saciéis^1a y habitaréis seguros en vuestra tierra^b. 6 Daré también paz en la tierra^a, para que durmáis sin que nadie os atemorice^b. Asimismo eliminaré bestias dañinas de vuestra¹ tierra^c, y no pasará espada por vuestra tierra^d. 7 Y vosotros perseguiréis a vuestros enemigos y caerán a espada delante de vosotros; 8 cinco de vosotros perseguirán a cien^a, y cien de vosotros perseguirán a diez mil, y vuestros enemigos caerán a espada delante de vosotros. 9 Me volveré hacia vosotros y os haré fecundos y os multiplicaré^a y confirmaré mi pacto con vosotros^b. 10 Y comeréis de las provisiones almacenadas y tendréis que sacar lo almacenado para guardar lo nuevo^a. 11 Además, haré mi morada¹ en medio de vosotros^a, y mi alma no os aborrecerá. 12 Andaré entre vosotros y seré vuestro Dios^a, y vosotros seréis mi pueblo. 13 Yo soy el SEÑOR vuestro Dios, que os saqué de la tierra de Egipto para que no fuerais esclavos^a de ellos; rompí las varas de vuestro yugo^b y os hice andar erguidos.

14 »^aPero si no me obedecéis y no ponéis por obra todos estos mandamientos, 15 si despreciáis^a mis estatutos y si aborrece vuestra alma mis ordenanzas para no poner por obra todos mis mandamientos, quebrantando así mi pacto^b, 16 yo, por mi parte, os haré esto: Pondré sobre vosotros terror súbito^a, tisis y fiebre que consuman los ojos y hagan languidecer el alma^b. En vano sembraréis vuestra semilla, pues vuestros enemigos la comerán^c. 17 Fijaré mi rostro contra vosotros, para que seáis derrotados delante de vuestros enemigos; los que os aborrecen os dominarán^a y huiréis sin que nadie os persiga^b. 18 Y si aun con todas estas cosas no me obedecéis, entonces os castigaré siete veces más por vuestros pecados^a. 19 También quebrantaré el orgullo de vuestro poderío^a, y haré vuestros cielos como hierro y vuestra tierra como bronce. 20 Y vuestras fuerzas se consumirán en vano, porque vuestra tierra no dará su producto y los árboles de la tierra no darán su fruto^a.

21 »Y si procedéis¹ con hostilidad contra mí^a y no queréis obedecerme, aumentaré la plaga sobre vosotros siete veces conforme a vuestros pecados^b. 22 Soltaré entre vosotros las fieras del campo que os privarán de vuestros hijos^a, destruirán vuestro ganado y os reducirán en número de manera que vuestros caminos queden desiertos^b.

23 »Y si con estas cosas no os enmendáis ante mí, sino que procedéis con hostilidad contra mí^a, 24 entonces yo procederé¹ con hostilidad contra vosotros^a; y yo mismo os heriré siete veces por vuestros pecados^b. 25 Y traeré sobre vosotros una espada que ejecutará venganza^a a causa del pacto; y cuando os reunáis en vuestras ciudades, enviaré pestilencia entre vosotros^b, para que seáis entregados en manos del enemigo. 26 Cuando yo os quite el sustento¹ del pan^a, diez mujeres cocerán vuestro pan en un horno, y os darán vuestro pan en cantidades medidas², de modo que comeréis y no os saciaréis^b.

27 »Si a pesar de todo esto no me obedecéis, sino que procedéis con hostilidad contra mí, 28 entonces yo procederé con hostilidad airada contra vosotros^a, y yo mismo os castigaré siete veces por vuestros pecados. 29 Comeréis la carne de vuestros hijos^a, y la carne de vuestras hijas comeréis. 30 Y destruiré vuestros lugares altos^a, derribaré vuestros altares de incienso^1b y amontonaré vuestros cadáveres sobre los cadáveres de vuestros ídolos, pues mi alma os aborrecerá. 31 También dejaré en ruinas vuestras ciudades^a, desolaré vuestros santuarios^b y no oleré vuestros suaves aromas^c. 32 Asolaré la tierra^a de tal modo que vuestros enemigos que se establezcan¹ en ella queden pasmados^b. 33 A vosotros, sin embargo, os esparciré entre las naciones^a y desenvainaré la espada en pos de vosotros, y vuestra tierra será asolada y vuestras ciudades quedarán en ruinas.

34 »Entonces la tierra gozará¹ de sus días de reposo^a durante todos los días de su desolación, mientras que habitéis en la tierra de vuestros enemigos; entonces descansará la tierra y gozará² de sus días de reposo. 35 Durante todos los días de su desolación la tierra guardará el descanso que no guardó en vuestros días de reposo mientras habitabais en ella. 36 En cuanto a los que queden de vosotros, infundiré cobardía¹ en sus corazones en la tierra de sus enemigos; y el sonido de una hoja que se mueva los ahuyentará, y aun cuando nadie los persiga, huirán como quien huye de la espada^a, y caerán. 37 Tropezarán unos con otros como si huyeran de la espada^a aunque nadie los persiga; no tendréis fuerza para hacer frente a vuestros enemigos. 38 Y pereceréis entre las naciones^a y os devorará la tierra de vuestros enemigos. 39 Así que los que sobrevivan de vosotros se pudrirán a causa de su iniquidad^a en la tierra de vuestros enemigos; también a causa de las iniquidades de sus antepasados se pudrirán juntamente con ellos.

40 »Si confiesan su iniquidad y la iniquidad de sus antepasados^a, por las¹ infidelidades que cometieron contra mí, y también porque procedieron² con hostilidad contra mí 41 (yo también procedía¹ con hostilidad contra ellos para llevarlos a la tierra de sus enemigos), o si su corazón incircunciso^a se humilla, y reconocen sus iniquidades^b, 42 entonces yo me acordaré de mi pacto con Jacob^a, me acordaré también de mi pacto con Isaac^b y de mi pacto con Abraham^c, y me acordaré de la tierra. 43 Porque la tierra será abandonada por ellos, y gozará¹ de sus días de reposo mientras quede desolada con su ausencia^a. Entretanto, ellos pagarán² su iniquidad, porque³ despreciaron mis ordenanzas y su alma aborreció^b mis estatutos. 44 Sin embargo, a pesar de esto, cuando estén en la tierra de sus enemigos no los desecharé ni los aborreceré^a tanto como para destruirlos^b, quebrantando mi pacto con ellos^c, porque yo soy el SEÑOR su Dios, 45 sino que por ellos me acordaré del pacto con sus antepasados, que yo saqué de la tierra de Egipto^a a la vista de las naciones, para ser su Dios^b. Yo soy el SEÑOR».

46 Estos son los estatutos, ordenanzas y leyes que el SEÑOR estableció entre Él y los hijos de Israel por medio de¹ Moisés en el monte Sinaí^a.

‘You shall not make for yourselves ^aidols, nor shall you set up for yourselves ^ba carved image or ^ca memorial stone, nor shall you place a ^dfigured stone in your land to bow down ¹to it; for I am the LORD your God. 2 ^aYou shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the LORD. 3 ^aIf you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments so as to carry them out, 4 then ^aI shall give you rains in their season, so that the land will yield its produce and the trees of the field will bear their fruit. 5 ^aIndeed, your threshing season will last for you until grape gathering, and grape gathering will last until sowing time. So you will eat your ¹food to the full and ^blive securely in your land. 6 ^aI shall also grant peace in the land, so that ^byou may lie down, with no one to make you afraid. ^cI shall also eliminate harmful animals from the land, and ^dno sword will pass through your land. 7 Instead, you will chase your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword; 8 ^afive of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand; and your enemies will fall before you by the sword. 9 So I will turn toward you and ^amake you fruitful and multiply you, and I will ^bconfirm My covenant with you. 10 And ^ayou will eat the old supply, and clear out the old because of the new. 11 ^aMoreover, I will make My ¹dwelling among you, and My soul will not ²reject you. 12 ^aI will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. 13 ^aI am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would not be their slaves, and ^bI broke your yoke and made you walk erect.

14 ‘^aBut if you do not obey Me and do not carry out all these commandments, 15 if, instead, you ^areject My statutes, and if your soul loathes My ordinances so as not to carry out all My commandments, but rather to ^bbreak My covenant, 16 I, in turn, will do this to you: I will ¹summon a ^asudden terror against you, consumption and fever that will make the eyes fail and the ^bsoul languish; also, ^cyou will sow your seed uselessly, for your enemies will eat it. 17 And I will set My face against you so that you will be defeated before your enemies; and ^athose who hate you will rule over you, and ^byou will flee when no one is pursuing you. 18 If also after these things you do not obey Me, then I will punish you ^aseven times more for your sins. 19 I will also ^abreak down your pride of power; and I will make your sky like iron and your earth like bronze. 20 ^aYour strength will be consumed uselessly, for your land will not yield its produce and the trees of the land will not yield their fruit.

21 ‘Yet if you ^1ashow hostility toward Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will increase the plague on you ^bseven times according to your sins. 22 ^aI will also let loose among you the animals of the field, which will deprive you of your children and eliminate your cattle, and reduce your number so that ^byour roads become deserted.

23 ‘^aAnd if by these things you do not learn your lesson regarding Me, but you show hostility toward Me, 24 then I in turn will ^ashow hostility toward you; and I, even I, will strike you ^bseven times for your sins. 25 I will also bring upon you a sword which will execute ^avengeance for the covenant; and when you gather together into your cities, I will send a ^bplague among you, so that you will be handed over to the enemy. 26 ^aWhen I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and they will bring back your bread ¹in rationed amounts, so that you will ^beat and not be satisfied.

27 ‘Yet if in spite of this you do not obey Me, but act with hostility against Me, 28 then ^aI will act with wrathful hostility against you, and I for My part will punish you seven times for your sins. 29 Further, ^ayou will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters. 30 I then ^awill destroy your high places, and cut down your ^bincense altars, and ¹pile your ²remains on the ³remains of your idols, for My soul will loathe you. 31 I will turn your cities into ^aruins as well and make your ^bsanctuaries desolate, and I will not ^csmell your soothing aromas. 32 And I will make ^athe land desolate ^bso that your enemies who settle in it will be appalled at it. 33 You, however, I ^awill scatter among the nations, and I will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become ruins.

34 ‘^aThen the land will restore its Sabbaths all the days of the desolation, while you are in your enemies’ land; then the land will rest and restore its Sabbaths. 35 All the days of its desolation it will have the rest which it did not have on your Sabbaths, while you were living on it. 36 As for those among you who are left, I will also bring ^adespair into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a scattered leaf will chase them, and even when no one is pursuing they will flee ¹as though from the sword, and they will fall. 37 ^aThey will then stumble over each other as if running from the sword, although no one is pursuing; and you will have no strength to stand before your enemies. 38 Instead, ^ayou will perish among the nations, and your enemies’ land will consume you. 39 ^aSo those of you who may be left will rot away because of their wrongdoing in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the wrongdoing of their forefathers they will rot away with them.

40 ‘But ^aif they confess their wrongdoing and the wrongdoing of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me— 41 I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies—^aor if their uncircumcised heart is humbled so that ^bthey then make amends for their wrongdoing, 42 then I will remember ^aMy covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also ^bMy covenant with Isaac, and ^cMy covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land. 43 ^aFor the land will be abandoned by them, and will restore its Sabbaths while it is made desolate without them. They, meanwhile, will be making amends for their wrongdoing, ¹because they rejected My ordinances and their ^bsoul loathed My statutes. 44 Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so ^aloathe them as ^bto destroy them, ^cbreaking My covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God. 45 But I will remember for them the ^acovenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, so that ^bI might be their God. I am the LORD.’”

46 ^aThese are the statutes and ordinances and laws which the LORD established between Himself and the sons of Israel ¹through Moses on Mount Sinai.
