Entonces habló el SEÑOR a Moisés, diciendo: 2 Habla a Aarón y a sus hijos, y a todos los hijos de Israel, y diles: «Esto es lo que el SEÑOR ha ordenado, diciendo: 3 Cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel que degüelle un buey, un cordero o una cabra en el campamento, o el que lo degüelle fuera del campamento, 4 sin llevarlo a la puerta de la tienda de reunión para presentarlo como una ofrenda al SEÑOR^a, delante del tabernáculo¹ del SEÑOR, ese hombre será culpable de la sangre². Ha derramado sangre y ese hombre será cortado de entre su pueblo³. 5 Esto es para que los hijos de Israel traigan los sacrificios que sacrificaban en campo abierto, los traigan al SEÑOR a la puerta de la tienda de reunión, al sacerdote, y los sacrifiquen como sacrificios de las ofrendas de paz al SEÑOR. 6 Y el sacerdote rociará la sangre sobre el altar del SEÑOR a la puerta de la tienda de reunión, y quemará la grasa como aroma agradable al SEÑOR^a. 7 Y ya no sacrificarán sus sacrificios a los demonios^1a con los cuales se prostituyen. Esto les será estatuto perpetuo por todas sus generaciones».

8 Entonces les dirás: «Cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel, o de los forasteros que residen entre ellos, que ofrezca holocausto o sacrificio, 9 y no lo traiga a la entrada de la tienda de reunión para ofrecerlo¹ al SEÑOR, ese hombre también será cortado de su pueblo^a.

10 »Si cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel, o de los forasteros que residen entre ellos, come sangre, yo pondré mi rostro contra esa persona que coma sangre^a, y la cortaré de entre su pueblo^b. 11 Porque la vida¹ de la carne está en la sangre^a, y yo os la he dado sobre el altar para hacer expiación por vuestras almas; porque es la sangre, por razón de la vida², la que hace expiación^b». 12 Por tanto dije a los hijos de Israel: «Ninguna persona entre vosotros comerá sangre; tampoco comerá sangre ningún forastero que reside entre vosotros». 13 Y cuando algún hombre de los hijos de Israel o de los forasteros que residen entre ellos, que al cazar capture un animal o un ave que sea permitido comer, derramará su sangre y la cubrirá con tierra^a.

14 Porque en cuanto a la vida¹ de toda carne, su sangre es su vida^2a. Por tanto, dije a los hijos de Israel: No comeréis la sangre de ninguna carne, porque la vida³ de toda carne es su sangre; cualquiera que la coma será exterminado⁴. 15 Y cuando alguna persona, sea nativo o forastero, coma de un animal muerto, o que haya sido despedazado por fieras^a, lavará sus vestidos y se bañará en agua, y quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer; entonces será limpio. 16 Pero si no los lava o no baña su cuerpo, llevará su culpa^1a.

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the sons of Israel, and say to them, ‘This is what the LORD has commanded, saying, 3 “Anyone from the house of Israel who slaughters an ox, a lamb, or a goat in the camp, or slaughters it outside the camp, 4 and ^ahas not brought it to the doorway of the tent of meeting to present it as an offering to the LORD in front of the ¹tabernacle of the LORD, bloodshed is to be counted against that person. He has shed blood, and that person shall be cut off from among his people. 5 This shall be done so that the sons of Israel will bring their sacrifices which they were sacrificing ¹in the open field—so that they will bring them to the LORD at the doorway of the tent of meeting to the priest, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to the LORD. 6 The priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar of the LORD at the doorway of the tent of meeting, and ^aoffer up the fat in smoke as a soothing aroma to the LORD. 7 And ^athey shall no longer offer their sacrifices to the ¹goat demons with which they play the prostitute. This shall be a permanent statute to them throughout their generations.”’

8 “Then you shall say to them, ‘Anyone from the house of Israel, or from the strangers who reside among them, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice, 9 and ^adoes not bring it to the doorway of the tent of meeting to ¹offer it to the LORD, that person also shall be cut off from his people.

10 ‘^aAnd anyone from the house of Israel, or from the strangers who reside among them, who eats any blood, ^bI will set My face against that person who eats the blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11 For ^athe ¹life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for ^bit is the blood by reason of the ²life that makes atonement.’ 12 Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, ‘No person among you may eat blood, nor may any stranger who resides among you eat blood.’ 13 So when anyone from the sons of Israel, or from the strangers who reside among them, ¹while hunting catches an animal or a bird which may be eaten, ^ahe shall pour out its blood and cover it with dirt.

14 “^aFor as for the ¹life of all flesh, its blood is identified with its ²life. Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, ‘You are not to eat the blood of any flesh, for the ³life of all flesh is its blood; whoever eats it shall be cut off.’ 15 And ^aany person who eats an animal which dies or is torn by animals, whether he is a native or a stranger, shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening; then he will become clean. 16 But if he does not wash his clothes and bathe his body, then ^ahe shall bear the responsibility for his ¹guilt.”
