Reprensión por la apostasía del pueblo

Oíd esto, sacerdotes,y estad atentos, casa de Israel,y casa del rey, escuchad,porque para vosotros es el juicio;pues lazo habéis sido en Mizpa^a,y red tendida sobre el Tabor.2 Y los rebeldes se han ahondado en la perversión¹^a;pero yo los castigaré a todos ellos.3 Yo conozco a Efraín, e Israel no se me oculta^a;porque ahora te has prostituido, Efraín,se ha contaminado Israel.4 No les permiten sus obrasvolver a su Dios,porque hay un espíritu de prostitución dentro de ellos^a,y no conocen al SEÑOR^b.5 Además, el orgullo de Israel testifica contra él^a,e Israel y Efraín tropiezan en su iniquidad;también Judá ha tropezado con ellos^b.6 Irán con sus rebaños y sus ganados^aen busca del SEÑOR, pero no le encontrarán^b;se ha retirado de ellos^c.7 Han obrado perversamente contra el SEÑOR^a,porque han engendrado hijos ilegítimos¹^b.Ahora los devorará la luna nueva junto con sus heredades²^c.

8 Tocad la bocina en Guibeá^a,la trompeta^b en Ramá.Sonad alarma en Bet-avén:¡Alerta¹, Benjamín^c!9 Efraín será una desolación^a en el día de la reprensión^b;en las tribus de Israel yo hago saber lo que es cierto^c.10 Los príncipes de Judá son como los que mueven los linderos^a;sobre ellos derramaré como agua^b mi furor^c.11 Efraín está oprimido, quebrantado en juicio^a,porque insistía en seguir mandato¹ de hombre^b.12 Yo, pues, soy como polilla^a para Efraín,y como carcoma para la casa de Judá.13 Cuando Efraín vio su enfermedady Judá su herida¹,Efraín fue a Asiria^ay envió mensaje al rey Jareb²^b;pero él no os podrá sanar,ni curar vuestra herida³^c.14 Porque yo seré como león para Efraín,y como leoncillo para la casa de Judá.Yo, yo mismo, desgarraré y me iré,arrebataré y no habrá quien libre^a.15 Me iré y volveré a mi lugarhasta que reconozcan su culpa¹ y busquen mi rostro^a;en su angustia me buscarán con diligencia^b.

The People’s Apostasy Rebuked

Hear this, you priests!Pay attention, house of Israel!Listen, you of the house of the king!For the judgment applies to you,Because you have been a ^atrap at Mizpah,And a net spread out on Tabor.2 And the ^arebels have ^bgone deep in ¹depravity,But I will discipline all of them.3 I ^aknow Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me;Because now, Ephraim, you have been unfaithful,Israel has defiled itself.4 Their deeds will not allow themTo return to their God.For a ^aspirit of ¹infidelity is within them,And they ^bdo not know the LORD.5 Moreover, the ^apride of Israel testifies against him,And Israel and Ephraim stumble in their wrongdoing;^bJudah also has stumbled with them.6 They will ^ago with their flocks and herdsTo seek the LORD, but they will ^bnot find Him;He has ^cwithdrawn from them.7 They have ^adealt treacherously with the LORD,For they have given birth to ¹^billegitimate children.Now the ^cnew moon will devour them with their ²land.

8 ^aBlow the horn in ^bGibeah,And the trumpet in Ramah.Sound an alarm at Beth-aven:“^cBehind you, Benjamin!”9 Ephraim will become a ^adesolation in the ^bday of rebuke;Among the tribes of Israel I ^cmake known what is trustworthy.10 The leaders of Judah have become like those who ^adisplace a boundary marker;On them I will ^bpour out My anger ^clike water.11 Ephraim is ^aoppressed, broken by judgment,^bBecause he was determined to follow ¹man’s command.12 Therefore I am like a ^amoth to Ephraim,And like rottenness to the house of Judah.13 When Ephraim saw his sickness,And Judah his ¹sore,Ephraim then went to ^aAssyriaAnd sent word to ²^bKing Jareb.But he is ^cunable to heal you,Or to cure you of your ³sore.14 For I will be ^alike a lion to EphraimAnd like a young lion to the house of Judah.^bI, yes I, will tear to pieces and go away,I will carry away, and there will be ^cno one to rescue.15 I will go away and return to My placeUntil they ¹^aacknowledge their guilt and seek My face;In their distress they will ^bsearch for Me.
