Efraín reprendido

¹Efraín se alimenta de viento^a,y persigue sin cesar al solano^b.Multiplica la mentira y la violencia;hacen además pacto con Asiria,y el aceite es llevado a Egipto.2 El SEÑOR tiene también contienda con Judá^a,y castigará a Jacob conforme a sus caminos;conforme a sus obras le pagará^b.3 En el vientre tomó a su hermano por el calcañar^a,y en su madurez luchó con Dios^b.4 Sí, luchó con el ángel y prevaleció,lloró y le pidió su ayuda^a;en Betel^b le encontró,y allí Él habló con nosotros,5 sí, el SEÑOR, Dios de los ejércitos,el SEÑOR es su nombre¹^a.6 Y tú, vuelve a tu Dios^a,practica la misericordia¹ y la justicia²^b,y espera siempre en³ tu Dios^c.7 A un mercader¹, en cuyas manos hay balanzas falsas^a,le gusta oprimir.8 Y Efraín ha dicho: Ciertamente me he enriquecido^a,he adquirido¹ riquezas para mí;en todos mis trabajos no hallarán en míiniquidad alguna que sea pecado^b.9 Pero yo he sido el SEÑOR tu Dios desde la tierra de Egipto;de nuevo te haré habitar en tiendas^a,como en los días de la fiesta señalada.10 También he hablado a los profetas^ay multipliqué las visiones¹;y por medio² de los profetas hablé en parábolas³^b.11 ¿Hay iniquidad en Galaad?Ciertamente son indignos.En Gilgal sacrifican toros,sí, sus altares son como montones de piedra^aen los surcos del campo.

12 Mas Jacob huyó a la tierra¹ de Aram^a,e Israel sirvió por una mujer^b,y por una mujer cuidó rebaños.13 Por un profeta el SEÑOR hizo subir a Israel de Egipto^a,y por un profeta fue guardado.14 Efraín le ha irritado amargamente^a;por eso su Señor dejará sobre él su culpa de sangre^b,y le devolverá su oprobio^c.

Ephraim Reminded

¹Ephraim feeds on ^awind,And pursues the ^beast wind continually;He multiplies lies and violence.Moreover, ²he makes a covenant with Assyria,And oil is brought to Egypt.2 The LORD also has a ^acase against Judah,And will punish Jacob ^baccording to his ways;He will repay him according to his deeds.3 In the womb he ^atook his brother by the heel,And in his mature strength he ^bcontended with God.4 Yes, he wrestled with the angel and prevailed;He wept and ^aimplored His favor.He found Him at ^bBethel,And there He spoke with us,5 And the LORD, the God of armies,The LORD is His ¹^aname.6 So as for you, ^areturn to your God,^bMaintain ¹kindness and justice,And ^cwait for your God continually.7 A ¹merchant, in whose hands are fraudulent ^abalances,Loves to exploit.8 And Ephraim said, “I have certainly become ^arich,I have found wealth for myself;In all my labors they will find in me^bNo wrongdoing, which would be sin.”9 But I have been the LORD your God since the land of Egypt;I will make you ^alive in tents again,As in the days of the appointed festival.10 I have also spoken to the ^aprophets,And I ¹provided many visions,And through the prophets I spoke in ^bparables.11 Is there injustice in Gilead?Certainly they are worthless.In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls,Yes, ^atheir altars are like stone heapsBeside the furrows of a field.

12 Now ^aJacob fled to the ¹land of Aram,And ^bIsrael worked for a wife,And for a wife he kept sheep.13 But by a ^aprophet the LORD brought Israel up from Egypt,And by a prophet he was protected.14 ^aEphraim has provoked God to bitter anger;So his Lord will leave his ^bguilt for bloodshed on himAnd bring his ^cdisgrace back to him.
