Pues ya que la leysolo tiene la sombra^a de los bienes futuros^b y no la forma¹ misma de las cosas, nunca puede², por los mismos sacrificios que ellos ofrecen continuamente año tras año^c, hacer perfectos a los que se acercan^d. 2 De otra manera, ¿no habrían cesado de ofrecerse, ya que los adoradores, una vez purificados¹, no tendrían ya más conciencia de pecado^a? 3 Pero en esos sacrificios hay¹ un recordatorio de pecados año tras año^a. 4 Porque es imposible^a que la sangre de toros y de machos cabríos quite los pecados^b. 5 Por lo cual, al entrar Él en el mundo^a, dice:SACRIFICIO Y OFRENDA NO HAS QUERIDO^b,PERO UN CUERPO HAS PREPARADO PARA MÍ^c;

8 Habiendo dicho arriba: SACRIFICIOS Y OFRENDAS^a Y HOLOCAUSTOS^b, Y sacrificios POR EL PECADO NO HAS QUERIDO^c, NI en ellos TE HAS COMPLACIDO (los cuales se ofrecen según la ley), 9 entonces dijo: HE AQUÍ, YO HE VENIDO PARA HACER TU VOLUNTAD^a. El quita lo primero para establecer lo segundo. 10 Por esta voluntad¹ hemos sido santificados^a mediante la ofrenda^b del cuerpo de Jesucristo^c ofrecida de una vez para siempre^d.

11 Y ciertamente todo sacerdote está de pie, día tras día, ministrando y ofreciendo muchas veces^a los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados^b; 12 pero Él, habiendo ofrecido un solo sacrificio por los pecados^a para siempre^b, SE SENTÓ¹ A LA DIESTRA DE DIOS^c, 13 esperando de ahí en adelante HASTA QUE SUS ENEMIGOS SEAN PUESTOS POR ESTRADO DE SUS PIES^a. 14 Porque por una ofrenda Él ha hecho perfectos^a para siempre a los que son santificados^b. 15 Y también el Espíritu Santo nos da testimonio^a; porque después de haber dicho:

18 Ahora bien, donde hay perdón¹ de estas cosas, ya no hay ofrenda por el pecado.

19 Entonces, hermanos, puesto que tenemos confianza^a para entrar al Lugar Santísimo^b por la sangre de Jesús, 20 por un camino nuevo y vivo^a que Él inauguró para nosotros por medio del velo^b, es decir, su carne, 21 y puesto que tenemos un gran sacerdote^a sobre la casa de Dios^b, 22 acerquémonos con corazón sincero^1a, en plena certidumbre de fe^b, teniendo nuestro corazón purificado² de mala conciencia^c y nuestro cuerpo lavado con agua pura^d. 23 Mantengamos firme la profesión^1a de nuestra esperanza^b sin vacilar, porque fiel es el que prometió^c; 24 y consideremos cómo estimularnos unos a otros^a al amor y a las buenas obras^b, 25 no dejando de congregarnos^a, como algunos tienen por costumbre, sino exhortándonos unos a otros^b, y mucho más al ver que el día se acerca^c.

26 Porque si continuamos pecando deliberadamente^a después de haber recibido el conocimiento de la verdad^b, ya no queda sacrificio alguno por los pecados, 27 sino cierta horrenda expectación de juicio^a, y la furia de UN FUEGO QUE HA DE CONSUMIR A LOS ADVERSARIOS^b. 28 Cualquiera que viola la ley de Moisés muere sin misericordia por el testimonio de dos o tres testigos^a. 29 ¿Cuánto mayor castigo pensáis que merecerá^a el que ha hollado bajo sus pies al Hijo de Dios^b, y ha tenido por inmunda la sangre del pacto^c por la cual fue santificado^d, y ha ultrajado al Espíritu de gracia^e? 30 Pues conocemos al que dijo: MIA ES LA VENGANZA, YO PAGARE^a. Y otra vez: EL SEÑOR JUZGARA A SU PUEBLO^b. 31 ¡Horrenda cosa^a es caer en las manos del Dios vivo^b!

32 Pero recordad los días pasados^a, cuando¹ después de haber sido iluminados^b, soportasteis una gran lucha de padecimientos^c; 33 por una parte, siendo hechos un espectáculo público^a en oprobios y aflicciones, y por otra, siendo compañeros^b de los que eran tratados así. 34 Porque tuvisteis compasión^a de los prisioneros y aceptasteis con gozo^b el despojo de vuestros bienes, sabiendo que tenéis para vosotros mismos una mejor y más duradera posesión^c. 35 Por tanto, no desechéis vuestra confianza^a, la cual tiene gran recompensa^b. 36 Porque tenéis necesidad de paciencia^1a, para que cuando hayáis hecho la voluntad de Dios, obtengáis la promesa^b.

39 Pero nosotros no somos de los que retroceden para perdición, sino de los que tienen fe para la preservación¹ del alma.

For the Law, since it has only ^aa shadow of ^bthe good things to come and not the ¹form of those things itself, ²can ^cnever, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually every year, ^dmake those who approach perfect. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had ^aconsciousness of sins? 3 But ^ain ¹those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is ^aimpossible for the ^bblood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore, ^awhen He comes into the world, He says,“^bYOU HAVE NOT DESIRED SACRIFICE AND OFFERING,BUT ^cYOU HAVE PREPARED A BODY FOR ME;

8 After saying above, “^aSACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND ^bWHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND OFFERINGS ^cFOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN PLEASURE IN THEM” (which are offered according to the Law), 9 then He ¹said, “^aBEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second. 10 By ¹this will, we have been ^asanctified through ^bthe offering of ^cthe body of Jesus Christ ^donce for all time.

11 Every priest stands daily ministering and ^aoffering time after time the same sacrifices, which ^bcan never take away sins; 12 but He, having offered one sacrifice ^afor ¹sins ^bfor all time, ^cSAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, 13 waiting from that time onward ^aUNTIL HIS ENEMIES ARE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. 14 For by one offering He has ^aperfected ^bfor all time those who are ¹sanctified. 15 And ^athe Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,

18 Now where there is forgiveness of these things, an offering for sin is no longer required.

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we ^ahave confidence to ^benter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by ^aa new and living way which He inaugurated for us through ^bthe veil, that is, through His flesh, 21 and since we have ^aa great priest ^bover the house of God, 22 let’s ^aapproach God with a ¹sincere heart in ^bfull assurance of faith, having our hearts ^csprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies ^dwashed with pure water. 23 Let’s hold firmly to the ^aconfession of our ^bhope without wavering, for ^cHe who promised is faithful; 24 and let’s consider how ^ato ¹encourage one another in love and ^bgood deeds, 25 not abandoning our own ^ameeting together, as is the habit of some people, but ^bencouraging one another; and all the more as you see ^cthe day drawing near.

26 For if we go on ^asinning willfully after receiving ^bthe knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a terrifying expectation of ^ajudgment and ^bTHE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES. 28 ^aAnyone who has ignored the Law of Moses is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 ^aHow much more severe punishment do you think he will deserve ^bwho has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean ^cthe blood of the covenant ^dby which he was sanctified, and has ^einsulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “^aVENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY.” And again, “^bTHE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.” 31 It is a ^aterrifying thing to fall into the hands of the ^bliving God.

32 But remember ^athe former days, ¹when, after being ^benlightened, you endured a great ^cconflict of sufferings, 33 partly by being ^amade a public spectacle through insults and distress, and partly by becoming ^1bcompanions with those who were so treated. 34 For you ^ashowed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted ^bjoyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves ^ca better and lasting possession. 35 Therefore, do not throw away your ^aconfidence, which has a great ^breward. 36 For you have need of ^aendurance, so that when you have ^bdone the will of God, you may ^creceive ¹what was promised.

39 But ¹we are not among those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith for the safekeeping of the soul.
