Después me hizo volver a la entrada del templo^1a; y he aquí, brotaban aguas de debajo del umbral del templo² hacia el oriente^b, porque la fachada del templo³ daba hacia el oriente. Y las aguas descendían de debajo, del lado⁴ derecho del templo⁵, al sur del altar. 2 Me sacó por la puerta del norte y me hizo dar la vuelta por¹ fuera hasta la puerta exterior, por la puerta que da al oriente. Y he aquí, las aguas fluían del lado² sur.

3 Cuando el hombre salió hacia el oriente con un cordel en la mano, midió mil codos¹, y me hizo pasar por las aguas, con el agua hasta los tobillos. 4 Midió otros mil, y me hizo pasar por las aguas, con el agua hasta las rodillas. De nuevo midió otros mil y me hizo pasar por las aguas, con el agua hasta la cintura¹. 5 Y midió otros mil; y ya era un río que yo no pude vadear, porque las aguas habían crecido, aguas que tenían que pasarse a nado, un río que no se podía vadear^a. 6 Entonces me dijo: ¿Has visto, hijo de hombre^a? Me llevó y me hizo volver a la orilla del río. 7 Y cuando volví, he aquí, en la orilla del río había muchísimos árboles a uno y otro lado^a. 8 Y me dijo: Estas aguas salen hacia la región oriental y descienden al Arabá^1a; luego siguen hacia el mar y desembocan en el mar^b; entonces las aguas del mar quedan purificadas². 9 Y sucederá que dondequiera que pase el río¹, todo ser viviente que en él se mueve, vivirá^a. Y habrá muchísimos peces, porque estas aguas van allá, y las otras son purificadas²; así vivirá todo por donde pase el río. 10 Y¹ junto a él se pararán los pescadores^a, y desde En-gadi^b hasta En-eglaim habrá un lugar para tender las redes^c. Sus peces serán según sus especies, como los peces del mar Grande^d, numerosísimos^e. 11 Pero sus pantanos y marismas no serán purificados¹; serán dejados² para salinas^a. 12 Junto al río, en su orilla, a uno y otro lado, crecerán toda clase de árboles que den fruto para comer^a. Sus hojas no se marchitarán, ni faltará su fruto^b. Cada mes darán fruto porque sus aguas fluyen del santuario; su fruto será para comer y sus hojas para sanar^c.

13 Así dice el Señor DIOS¹: Estos serán los límites según los cuales repartiréis la tierra por heredad^a entre las doce tribus de Israel^b; José tendrá dos partes. 14 La repartiréis por heredad a cada uno en igual proporción que¹ a su hermano; porque juré² darla a vuestros padres, esta tierra os tocará en heredad^a.

15 Y estos serán los límites de la tierra: Por el lado norte, desde el mar Grande, camino de Hetlón, hasta la entrada de Zedad^a; 16 Hamat, Berota, Sibraim, que está entre el límite de Damasco y el límite de Hamat^a; Hazar-haticón, que está en el límite de Haurán. 17 Y el límite se extenderá¹ desde el mar hasta Hazar-enán en el límite de Damasco, y en el norte, hacia el norte, al límite de Hamat; este es el lado norte^a. 18 Y por el lado oriental^a, entre¹ Haurán, Damasco, Galaad^b y la tierra de Israel, al Jordán; mediréis desde el límite norte hasta el mar oriental; este es el lado oriental^c. 19 Y el lado sur, hacia el sur, se extenderá desde Tamar hasta las aguas de Meriba de Cades^a, hacia el torrente de Egipto^b, hasta el mar Grande^c; este es el lado sur, hacia el sur. 20 Y el lado occidental será el mar Grande^a, desde el límite sur hasta enfrente de Lebo-hamat¹; este es el lado occidental^b.

21 Repartiréis, pues, esta tierra entre vosotros según las tribus de Israel. 22 La¹ sortearéis como heredad entre vosotros^a y entre los forasteros que residen en medio de vosotros y que hayan engendrado hijos entre vosotros^b. Y serán para vosotros como nativos entre los hijos de Israel; se les sorteará herencia con vosotros entre las tribus de Israel^c. 23 En¹ la tribu en la cual el forastero resida, allí le daréis su herencia—declara el Señor DIOS.

Then he brought me back to the ^adoor of the house; and behold, ^bwater was flowing from under the threshold of the house toward the east, for the house faced east. And the water was flowing down from under, from the right side of the house, from south of the altar. 2 And he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around ¹on the outside to the outer gate, by the way facing east. And behold, water was spurting out from the south side.

3 When the man went out toward the east with a line in his hand, he measured a thousand ¹cubits, and he led me through the water, water reaching the ankles. 4 Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the knees. Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the ¹hips. 5 Again he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not ¹wade across, because the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a ^ariver that could not be crossed by wading. 6 And he said to me, “Son of man, have you ^aseen this?” Then he brought me ¹back to the bank of the river. 7 Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river there were very many ^atrees on the one side and on the other. 8 Then he said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and go down into the ^aArabah; then they go toward the ¹sea, being made to flow into the ^bsea, and the waters of the sea become ²fresh. 9 And it will come about that every living creature which swarms in every place where the ¹river goes, will live. And there will be very many fish, for these waters go there and the others ²become fresh; so ^aeverything will live where the river goes. 10 And it will come about that ^afishermen will stand beside it; from ^bEngedi to Eneglaim there will be a place for the ^cspreading of nets. Their fish will be according to their kinds, like the fish of the ^dGreat Sea, ^every many. 11 But its swamps and marshes will not become ¹fresh; they will be ²left for ^asalt. 12 And ^aby the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of ^btrees for food. Their ^cleaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their ^dleaves for healing.”

13 This is what the Lord ¹GOD says: “This shall be the ^aboundary by which you shall divide the land for an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel; Joseph shall have two ^bportions. 14 And you shall divide it for an inheritance, each one ¹equally with the other; for I ^2aswore to give it to your forefathers, and this land shall fall to you ³as an inheritance.

15 “And this shall be the boundary of the land: on the ^anorth side, from the Great Sea by the way of Hethlon, to the entrance of ^1bZedad; 16 ^1aHamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of ^bDamascus and the border of Hamath; Hazer-hatticon, which is by the border of Hauran. 17 The boundary shall ¹extend from the sea to ^aHazar-enan at the border of Damascus, and on the north toward the north is the border of Hamath. This is the north side.

18 “The ^aeast side, from between Hauran, Damascus, ^bGilead, and the land of Israel, shall be the ^cJordan; from the north border to the eastern sea you shall measure. This is the east side.

19 “The ^asouth side toward the south shall extend from ^bTamar as far as the waters of ^cMeribath-kadesh, to the ^dbrook of Egypt and to the ^eGreat Sea. This is the south side toward the south.

20 “And the ^awest side shall be the Great Sea, from the south border to a point opposite ^1bLebo-hamath. This is the west side.

21 “So you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. 22 You shall divide it by ^alot for an inheritance among yourselves and among the ^bstrangers who stay in your midst, who bring forth sons in your midst. And they shall be to you as the native-born among the sons of Israel; they shall be allotted an ^cinheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. 23 And in the tribe with which the stranger resides, there you shall give him his inheritance,” declares the Lord GOD.
