^aCuando el SEÑOR tu Dios te haya introducido en la tierra donde vas a entrar para poseerla y haya echado de delante de ti a muchas naciones: los hititas, los gergeseos, los amorreos, los cananeos, los ferezeos, los heveos y los jebuseos, siete naciones^b más grandes y más poderosas que tú, 2 y cuando el SEÑOR tu Dios los haya entregado delante de ti, y los hayas derrotado¹, los destruirás por completo^2a. No harás alianza con ellos^b ni te apiadarás de ellos^c. 3 Y no contraerás matrimonio con ellos; no darás tus hijas¹ a sus hijos², ni tomarás sus hijas³ para tus hijos^4a. 4 Porque ellos apartarán¹ a tus hijos² de seguirme para servir a otros dioses; entonces la ira del SEÑOR se encenderá contra ti, y Él pronto te destruirá^a. 5 Mas así haréis con ellos: derribaréis sus altares, destruiréis sus pilares sagrados, y cortaréis sus imágenes de Asera¹, y quemaréis a fuego sus imágenes talladas^a.

6 Porque tú eres pueblo santo para el SEÑOR tu Dios^a; el SEÑOR tu Dios te ha escogido para ser pueblo suyo¹ de entre todos los pueblos que están sobre la faz de la tierra^b. 7 El SEÑOR no puso su amor en vosotros ni os escogió^a por ser vosotros más numerosos que otro pueblo, pues erais el más pequeño de todos los pueblos; 8 mas porque el SEÑOR os amó y guardó el juramento que hizo a vuestros padres^a, el SEÑOR os sacó con mano fuerte y os redimió de casa de servidumbre¹, de la mano de Faraón, rey de Egipto^b. 9 Reconoce, pues, que el SEÑOR tu Dios es Dios^a, el Dios fiel^b, que guarda su¹ pacto y su² misericordia hasta mil generaciones con aquellos que le aman y guardan sus mandamientos^c; 10 pero al que le odia, le da el pago en su misma cara, destruyéndolo; y no se tarda en castigar al que le odia, en su misma cara le dará el pago^a. 11 Guarda, por tanto, el mandamiento y los estatutos y los decretos que yo te mando hoy, para cumplirlos.

12 ^aY sucederá que porque escuchas estos decretos y los guardas y los cumples, el SEÑOR tu Dios guardará su¹ pacto contigo y su² misericordia que juró a tus padres. 13 Y te amará^a, te bendecirá y te multiplicará^b; también bendecirá el fruto de tu vientre y el fruto de tu tierra, tu cereal, tu mosto, tu aceite, el aumento de tu ganado y las crías de tu rebaño en la tierra que Él juró a tus padres que te daría. 14 Bendito serás más que todos los pueblos; no habrá varón ni hembra estéril en ti^a, ni en tu ganado. 15 Y el SEÑOR apartará de ti toda enfermedad; y no pondrá sobre ti ninguna de las enfermedades malignas de Egipto que has conocido^a, sino que las pondrá sobre los que te odian. 16 Y destruirás¹ a todos los pueblos que el SEÑOR tu Dios te entregue; tu ojo no tendrá piedad de ellos; tampoco servirás a sus dioses^a, porque esto sería un tropiezo² para ti^b.

17 Si dijeras en tu corazón: «Estas naciones son más poderosas que yo, ¿cómo podré desposeerlas^a?», 18 no tengas temor de ellas; recuerda bien lo que el SEÑOR tu Dios hizo a Faraón y a todo Egipto^a: 19 las grandes pruebas que tus ojos vieron, las señales y maravillas, y la mano poderosa y el brazo extendido con el cual el SEÑOR tu Dios te sacó^a. Así el SEÑOR tu Dios hará con todos los pueblos a los cuales temes. 20 Además, el SEÑOR tu Dios enviará la avispa contra ellos^a, hasta que perezcan los que queden y se escondan de ti. 21 No te espantes de¹ ellos, porque el SEÑOR tu Dios está en medio de ti^a, Dios grande y temible^b. 22 Y el SEÑOR tu Dios echará estas naciones de delante de ti poco a poco; no podrás acabar con ellas rápidamente, no sea que las bestias del campo lleguen a ser demasiado numerosas para ti^a. 23 Pero el SEÑOR tu Dios las entregará delante de ti, y producirá entre ellas¹ gran confusión hasta que perezcan^a. 24 Y entregará en tus manos a sus reyes^a de modo que harás perecer sus nombres de debajo del cielo; ningún hombre podrá hacerte frente hasta que tú los hayas destruido^b. 25 Las esculturas¹ de sus dioses quemarás a fuego^a; no codiciarás la plata o el oro que las recubren^b, ni lo tomarás para ti^c, no sea que por ello caigas en un lazo, porque es abominación al SEÑOR tu Dios^d. 26 Y no traerás cosa abominable a tu casa, pues serás anatema como ella; ciertamente la aborrecerás y la abominarás, pues es anatema^a.

“^aWhen the LORD your God brings you into the land where you are entering to take possession of it, and He drives away many nations from before you, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, ^bseven nations greater and mightier than you, 2 and when the LORD your God turns them over to you and you ¹defeat them, ^ayou shall ²utterly destroy them. ^bYou shall not make a covenant with them ^cnor be gracious to them. 3 Furthermore, ^ayou shall not intermarry with them: you shall not give your ¹daughters to ²their sons, nor shall you take ³their daughters for your ⁴sons. 4 For ¹they will turn your ²sons away from ³following Me, and they will serve other gods; then the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you and ^aHe will quickly destroy you. 5 But this is what you shall do to them: ^ayou shall tear down their altars, smash their memorial stones, cut their ¹Asherim to pieces, and burn their carved images in the fire. 6 For you are ^aa holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be ^ba people for His personal possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the ¹earth.

7 “^aThe LORD did not ¹make you His beloved nor choose you because you were greater in number than any of the peoples, since you were the fewest of all peoples, 8 but because the LORD loved you and kept the ^aoath which He swore to your forefathers, ^bthe LORD brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of ¹slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the LORD your God, ^aHe is God, ^bthe faithful God, ^cwho keeps ¹His covenant and ²His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who ^dlove Him and keep His commandments; 10 but He ^arepays those who hate Him to ¹their faces, to eliminate ²them; He will not hesitate toward him who hates Him, He will repay him to his face. 11 Therefore, you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which I am commanding you today, to do them.

12 “^aThen it shall come about, because you listen to these judgments and keep and do them, that the LORD your God will keep ¹His covenant with you and ²His faithfulness which He swore to your forefathers. 13 And He will ^alove you, bless you, and ^bmake you numerous; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain, your new wine, and your oil, the newborn of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, ¹in the land which He swore to your forefathers to give you. 14 You shall be blessed above all peoples; there will be no sterile male or ^ainfertile female among you or among your cattle. 15 And ^athe LORD will remove from you all sickness; and He will not inflict upon you any of the harmful diseases of Egypt which you have known, but He will give them to all who hate you. 16 You shall consume all the peoples whom the LORD your God will turn over to you; ^ayour eye shall not pity them, nor shall you serve their gods, for that would be ^ba snare to you.

17 “If you say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I; how can I ^adispossess them?’ 18 you are not to be afraid of them; you shall ^aremember well what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt: 19 ^athe great trials which your eyes saw and the signs and the wonders, and the mighty hand and the outstretched arm by which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples of whom you are afraid. 20 Indeed, the LORD your God will send ^athe hornet against them, until those who are left and hide themselves from you perish. 21 You are not to be terrified of them, because ^athe LORD your God is in your midst, ^ba great and awesome God. 22 ^aAnd the LORD your God will drive away these nations from you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, otherwise the ¹wild animals would become too numerous for you. 23 ^aBut the LORD your God will turn them over to you, and will ¹throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed. 24 ^aAnd He will hand over their kings to you, so that you will eliminate their name from under heaven; ^bno one will be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them. 25 The carved images of their gods you are to ^aburn with fire; you shall ^bnot covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, or you will be ^ctrapped by it; for it is an ^dabomination to the LORD your God. 26 And you shall not bring an abomination into your house and become ^adesignated for destruction, like it; you are to utterly detest it, and you are to utterly loathe it, for it is something designated for destruction.
