Si hay pleito entre dos hombres y van a la corte¹, y los jueces deciden el caso^2a, y absuelven al justo y condenan al culpable^3b, 2 sucederá que si el culpable merece ser azotado¹, entonces el juez le hará tenderse, y será azotado en su presencia con el número de azotes de acuerdo con su culpa^2a. 3 Puede darle cuarenta azotes, pero no más^a, no sea que le dé muchos más azotes queestos, y tu hermano quede degradado ante tus ojos^b.

4 No pondrás bozal al buey mientras trilla^a.

5 Cuando dos hermanos habitan juntos y uno de ellos muere y no tiene hijo, la mujer del fallecido no se casará fuera de la familia con un extraño. El cuñado se allegará a ella y la tomará para sí como mujer, y cumplirá con ella su deber de cuñado^a. 6 Y será que el primogénito que ella dé a luz llevará¹ el nombre de su hermano difunto, para que su nombre no sea borrado de Israel^a. 7 Pero si el hombre no quiere tomar a su cuñada^a, entonces su cuñada irá a la puerta, a los ancianos, y dirá: «Mi cuñado se niega a establecer un nombre para su hermano en Israel; no quiere cumplir para conmigo su deber de cuñado». 8 Entonces los ancianos de su ciudad lo llamarán y le hablarán. Y si él persiste y dice: «No deseo tomarla», 9 entonces su cuñada vendrá a él a la vista de los ancianos, le quitará la sandalia de su pie^a y le escupirá en la cara^b; y ella declarará¹: «Así se hace al hombre que no quiere edificar la casa de su hermano». 10 Y en Israel se le llamará: «La casa del de la sandalia quitada».

11 Si dos hombres luchan entre sí, un hombre y su conciudadano¹, y la mujer de uno se acerca para librar a su marido de la mano del que lo golpea, y ella extiende su mano y le agarra sus partes vergonzosas, 12 entonces le cortarás su mano¹; no tendrás² piedad^a.

13 No tendrás en tu bolsa pesas diferentes¹, una grande y una pequeña^a. 14 No tendrás en tu casa medidas diferentes¹, una grande y una pequeña. 15 Tendrás peso completo y justo; tendrás medida completa y justa¹, para que se prolonguen tus días en la tierra² que el SEÑOR tu Dios te da^a. 16 Porque todo el que hace estas cosas, todo el que comete injusticia, es abominación para el SEÑOR tu Dios^a.

17 ^aAcuérdate de lo que te hizo Amalec en el camino cuando saliste de Egipto, 18 cómo te salió al encuentro en el camino, y atacó¹ entre los tuyos a todos los agotados en tu retaguardia cuando tú estabas fatigado y cansado; y él no temió² a Dios^a. 19 Por tanto, sucederá que cuando el SEÑOR tu Dios te haya dado descanso de todos tus enemigos alrededor, en la tierra que el SEÑOR tu Dios te da^a en heredad para poseerla, borrarás de debajo del cielo la memoria de Amalec; no lo olvides.

“^aIf there is a dispute between people and they go to ¹court, and ²the judges decide their case, ^band they declare the righteous innocent and pronounce the wicked guilty, 2 then it shall be if the wicked person ^1adeserves to be beaten, the judge shall then make him lie down and have him beaten in his presence with the number of lashes according to his ²wrongful act. 3 ^aHe may have him beaten forty times, but not more, so that he does not have him beaten with many more lashes than these, and that your brother does not ^bbecome contemptible in your eyes.

4 “^aYou shall not muzzle the ox while it is threshing.

5 “When brothers live together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the deceased shall not be married outside the family to a strange man. ^aHer husband’s brother shall have relations with her and take her to himself as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her. 6 It shall then be that the firstborn to whom she gives birth shall ¹assume the name of his father’s deceased brother, so that ^ahis name will not be wiped out from Israel. 7 ^aBut if the man does not desire to take his brother’s widow, then his brother’s widow shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to establish a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.’ 8 Then the elders of his city shall summon him and speak to him. And if he persists and says, ‘I do not desire to take her,’ 9 ^athen his brother’s widow shall come up to him in the sight of the elders, and pull his sandal off his foot and ^bspit in his face; and she shall ¹declare, ‘This is what is done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house!’ 10 And in Israel ¹his family shall be called by the name, ‘The house of him whose sandal was removed.’

11 “If two men, a man and his countryman, have a fight ¹with each other, and the wife of one comes up to save her husband from the hand of the one who is hitting him, and she reaches out with her hand and grasps ²that man’s genitals, 12 then you shall cut off her ¹hand; ^2ayou shall not show pity.

13 “^aYou shall not have in your bag ¹differing weights, a large and a small. 14 You shall not have in your house ¹differing measures, a large and a small. 15 You shall have a correct and honest ¹weight; you shall have a correct and honest ²measure, ^aso that your days may be prolonged ³in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. 16 For ^aeveryone who does these things, everyone who acts unjustly is an abomination to the LORD your God.

17 “^aRemember what Amalek did to you on the way when you came out of Egypt, 18 how he confronted you on the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear when you were tired and weary; and he ^adid not ¹fear God. 19 So it shall come about, when the LORD your God has given you ^arest from all your surrounding enemies in the land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance to ¹possess, that you shall wipe out the mention of the name Amalek from under heaven; you must not forget.
