Después que cesó el alboroto, Pablo mandó llamar a los discípulos^a, y habiéndolos exhortado, despidiéndose, partió para ir^b a Macedonia^c. 2 Y después de recorrer aquellas regiones y de haberlos exhortado mucho, llegó a Grecia. 3 Pasó allí tres meses, y habiéndose tramado una conjura en su contra de parte de los judíos^a cuando estaba por embarcarse para Siria^b, tomó la decisión de regresar por Macedonia^c. 4 Y lo acompañaban Sópater de Berea^a, hijo de Pirro; Aristarco^b y Segundo de los tesalonicenses^c; Gayo^d de Derbe^e, y Timoteo^f; Tíquico^g y Trófimo^h de Asia¹ⁱ. 5 Peroestos se habían adelantado y nos^a esperaban en Troas^b. 6 Nos embarcamos^a en Filipos^b después de los días de los panes sin levadura^1c, y en cinco días llegamos adonde ellos estaban en Troas^d; y allí nos quedamos siete días.

7 Y el primer día de la semana^a, cuando estábamos reunidos^b para partir el pan^c, Pablo les hablaba, pensando partir al día siguiente, y prolongó su discurso¹ hasta la medianoche. 8 Había muchas lámparas^a en el aposento alto^b donde estábamos reunidos; 9 y estaba sentado en la ventana un joven llamado Eutico; y como Pablo continuaba hablando, Eutico fue cayendo en un profundo sueño hasta que, vencido por el sueño, cayó desde el tercer piso y lo levantaron muerto. 10 Pero Pablo bajó y se tendió sobre él^a, y después de abrazarlo, dijo: No os alarméis¹, porque está vivo^2b. 11 Y volviendo arriba, después de partir el pan^a y de comer¹, conversó largamente con ellos hasta el amanecer, y entonces se marchó. 12 Y se llevaron vivo al muchacho, y quedaron grandemente¹ consolados.

13 Entonces nosotros^a, adelantándonos a tomar la nave, zarpamos para Asón, con el propósito de recoger allí a Pablo, pues así lo había decidido, deseando ir por tierra¹ hasta Asón. 14 Cuando nos encontró en Asón, lo recibimos a bordo y nos dirigimos a Mitilene. 15 Y zarpando de allí, al día siguiente llegamos frente a Quío; y al otro día atracamos en Samos; habiendo hecho escala en Trogilio¹, al día siguiente llegamos a Mileto^a. 16 Porque Pablo había decidido dejar a un lado a Efeso^a para no detenerse en Asia^1b, pues se apresuraba para estar, si le era posible, el día de Pentecostés^c en Jerusalén^d.

17 Y desde Mileto mandó mensaje a Efeso^a y llamó a los ancianos^b de la iglesia.

18 Cuando vinieron a él, les dijo:

Vosotros bien sabéis cómo he sido con vosotros todo el tiempo, desde el primer día que estuve¹ en Asia^2a, 19 sirviendo al Señor con toda humildad, y con lágrimas y con pruebas que vinieron sobre mí por causa de las intrigas de los judíos^a; 20 cómo no rehuí declarar a vosotros^a nada que fuera útil, y de enseñaros públicamente y de casa en casa¹, 21 testificando^a solemnemente, tanto a judíos como a griegos, del arrepentimiento^b para con Dios y de la fe en nuestro Señor Jesucristo^c. 22 Y ahora, he aquí que yo, atado en espíritu¹, voy a Jerusalén^a sin saber lo que allá me sucederá, 23 salvo que el Espíritu Santo^a solemnemente me da testimonio^b en cada ciudad, diciendo que me esperan cadenas y aflicciones^c. 24 Pero en ninguna manera estimo^a mi vida como valiosa para mí mismo, a fin de poder terminar mi carrera^1b y el ministerio^c que recibí del Señor Jesús^d, para dar testimonio^e solemnemente del evangelio de la gracia de Dios^f. 25 Y ahora, he aquí, yo sé que ninguno de vosotros, entre quienes anduve predicando el reino^a, volverá a ver mi rostro. 26 Por tanto, os doy testimonio¹ en este día de que soy inocente^2a de la sangre de todos, 27 pues no rehuí declarar a vosotros^a todo el propósito¹ de Dios^b. 28 Tened cuidado de vosotros y de toda la grey^a, en medio de la cual el Espíritu Santo os ha hecho obispos¹ para pastorear la iglesia de Dios^2b, la cual Él compró³ con su propia sangre^c. 29 Sé que después de mi partida, vendrán lobos feroces^a entre vosotros que no perdonarán el rebaño^b, 30 y que de entre vosotros mismos se levantarán algunos¹ hablando cosas perversas para arrastrar a los discípulos^a tras ellos. 31 Por tanto, estad alerta, recordando que por tres años^a, de noche y de día, no cesé de amonestar a cada uno con lágrimas^b. 32 Ahora os encomiendo a Dios^1a y a la palabra de su gracia^b, que es poderosa para edificaros^c y daros la herencia entre todos los santificados^d. 33 Ni la plata, ni el oro, ni la ropa de nadie he codiciado^a. 34 Vosotros sabéis que estas manos^a me sirvieron para mis propias necesidades y las de los que estaban conmigo^b. 35 En todo os mostré que así, trabajando, debéis ayudar a los débiles, y recordar las palabras del Señor Jesús, que dijo: «Más bienaventurado es dar que recibir».

36 Cuando terminó de hablar¹, se arrodilló y oró^a con todos ellos. 37 Y comenzaron a llorar desconsoladamente¹, y abrazando a² Pablo, lo besaban^a, 38 afligidos¹ especialmente por la palabra que había dicho de que ya no volverían a ver su rostro^a. Y lo acompañaron^b hasta el barco.

After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for ^athe disciples, and when he had ¹encouraged them and taken his leave of them, he left ^bto go to ^cMacedonia. 2 When he had gone through those regions and had given them much ¹encouragement, he came to Greece. 3 And there he spent three months, and when ^aa plot was formed against him by the Jews as he was about to set sail for ^bSyria, he decided to return through ^cMacedonia. 4 And ¹he was accompanied by Sopater of ^aBerea, the son of Pyrrhus, and by ^bAristarchus and Secundus of the ^cThessalonians, and ^dGaius of ^eDerbe, and ^fTimothy, and ^gTychicus and ^hTrophimus of ²ⁱAsia. 5 Now these had gone on ahead and were waiting for ^aus at ^bTroas. 6 ^aWe sailed from ^bPhilippi after ^1cthe days of Unleavened Bread, and reached them at ^dTroas within five days; and we stayed there for seven days.

7 On ^athe first day of the week, when ^bwe were gathered together to ^cbreak bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his ¹message until midnight. 8 There were many ^alamps in the ^bupstairs room where we were gathered together. 9 And there was a young man named ¹Eutychus sitting ²on the window sill, sinking into a deep sleep; and as Paul kept on talking, Eutychus was overcome by sleep and fell down from the third floor, and was picked up dead. 10 But Paul went down and ^afell upon him, and after embracing him, he ^bsaid, “¹Do not be troubled, for ²he is still alive.” 11 When Paul had gone back up and had ^abroken the bread and ¹eaten, he talked with them a long while until daybreak, and then left. 12 They took away the boy alive, and were ¹greatly comforted.

13 But ^awe went ahead to the ship and set sail for Assos, intending from there to take Paul on board; for that was what he had arranged, intending himself to go ¹by land. 14 And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and came to Mitylene. 15 Sailing from there, we arrived the following day opposite Chios; and the next day we crossed over to Samos, and on the following day we came to ^aMiletus. 16 For Paul had decided to sail past ^aEphesus so that he would not have to lose time in ^1bAsia; for he was hurrying, if it might be possible for him ^cto be in Jerusalem ^dthe day of Pentecost.

17 From Miletus he sent word to ^aEphesus and called to himself ^bthe elders of the church. 18 And when they came to him, he said to them,“You yourselves know, ^afrom the first day that I set foot in ¹Asia, how I was with you the whole time, 19 serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and trials which came upon me ¹through ^athe plots of the Jews; 20 how I ^adid not shrink from declaring to you anything that was beneficial, and teaching you publicly and ¹from house to house, 21 solemnly ^atestifying to both Jews and Greeks of ^brepentance toward God and ^cfaith in our Lord Jesus Christ. 22 And now, behold, bound by the ¹Spirit, ^aI am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there, 23 except that ^athe Holy Spirit solemnly ^btestifies to me in every city, saying that ^cchains and afflictions await me. 24 But ^aI do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may ^bfinish my course and ^cthe ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to ^dtestify solemnly of the gospel of ^eGod’s grace.

25 “And now behold, I know that all of you, among whom I went about ^apreaching the kingdom, will no longer see my face. 26 Therefore, I ¹testify to you this day that ^aI am ²innocent of the blood of all people. 27 For I ^adid not shrink from declaring to you the whole ^bpurpose of God. 28 Be on guard for yourselves and for all ^athe flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you ¹overseers, to shepherd ^bthe church of God which ^cHe ²purchased ³with His own blood. 29 I know that after my departure ^asavage wolves will come in among you, not sparing ^bthe flock; 30 and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things to draw away ^athe disciples after them. 31 Therefore, be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of ^athree years I did not cease to admonish each one ^bwith tears. 32 And now I ^aentrust you to God and to ^bthe word of His grace, which is able to ^cbuild you up and to give you ^dthe inheritance among all those who are sanctified. 33 ^aI have coveted no one’s silver or gold or clothes. 34 You yourselves know that ^athese hands served my own needs and the ^bmen who were with me. 35 In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

36 When he had said these things, he ^aknelt down and prayed with them all. 37 And ¹they all began to weep aloud and ^2aembraced Paul, and repeatedly kissed him, 38 ¹grieving especially over ^athe word which he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they were ^baccompanying him to the ship.
