Después de esto Pablo salió de Atenas^a y fue a Corinto^b. 2 Y se encontró con un judío que se llamaba Aquila^a, natural del Ponto^b, quien acababa de llegar de Italia^c con Priscila^d su mujer, pues Claudio^e había ordenado a todos los judíos que salieran de Roma. Fue a ellos, 3 y como él era del mismo oficio, se quedó con ellos y trabajaban^a juntos, pues el oficio de ellos era hacer tiendas. 4 Y discutía en la sinagoga^a todos los días de reposo^b, y trataba de persuadir a judíos y a griegos^c.

5 Cuando Silas y Timoteo^a descendieron^b de Macedonia^c, Pablo se dedicaba por completo a la predicación de la palabra, testificando solemnemente a los judíos^d que Jesús era el Cristo^1e. 6 Pero cuando ellos se le opusieron y blasfemaron, él sacudió sus ropas^a y les dijo: Vuestra sangre sea sobre vuestras cabezas^b; yo soy limpio; desde ahora me iré a los gentiles^c. 7 Y partiendo de allí, se fue a la casa de un hombre llamado Ticio¹ Justo, que adoraba a Dios^a, cuya casa estaba junto a la sinagoga. 8 Y Crispo^a, el oficial^1b de la sinagoga, creyó en el Señor con toda su casa^c, y muchos de los corintios^d, al oír, creían y eran bautizados. 9 Y por medio de una visión^a durante la noche, el Señor dijo a Pablo: No temas, sigue hablando y no calles; 10 porque yo estoy contigo, y nadie te atacará para hacerte daño, porque yo tengo mucho pueblo en esta ciudad. 11 Y se quedó allí un año y seis meses, enseñando la palabra de Dios entre ellos.

12 Pero siendo Galión procónsul^a de Acaya^b, los judíos^c se levantaron a una contra Pablo y lo trajeron ante el tribunal^d, 13 diciendo: Este persuade a los hombres a que adoren a Dios en forma contraria a la ley^a. 14 Y cuando Pablo iba a hablar^1a, Galión dijo a los judíos: Si fuera cuestión de una injusticia o de un crimen depravado, oh judíos, yo os toleraría, como sería razonable. 15 Pero si son cuestiones de palabras y nombres, y de vuestra propia ley^a, allá vosotros; no estoy dispuesto a ser juez de estas cosas. 16 Y los echó del tribunal^a. 17 Entonces todos ellos le echaron mano a Sóstenes^a, el oficial¹ de la sinagoga^b, y lo golpeaban frente al tribunal^c, pero Galión no hacía caso de nada de esto.

18 Y Pablo, después de quedarse muchos días más, se despidió^a de los hermanos^b y se embarcó hacia Siria^c, y con él iban Priscila y Aquila^d. Y en Cencrea^e se hizo cortar el cabello, porque tenía hecho un voto^f. 19 Llegaron a Efeso^a y los dejó allí. Y entrando él a la sinagoga, discutía con los judíos^b. 20 Cuando le rogaron que se quedara más tiempo, no consintió, 21 sino que se despidió de ellos^a, diciendo¹: Volveré a vosotros otra vez, si Dios quiere^b. Y zarpó de Efeso^c.

22 Al desembarcar en Cesarea^a, subió a Jerusalén para saludar a la iglesia, y luego descendió a Antioquía^b. 23 Y después de pasar allí algún tiempo, salió, recorriendo por orden la región de Galacia y de Frigia^a, fortaleciendo a todos los discípulos.

24 Llegó entonces a Efeso^a un judío que se llamaba Apolos^b, natural de Alejandría^c, hombre elocuente¹, y que era poderoso en las Escrituras. 25 Este había sido instruido en el camino del Señor^a, y siendo ferviente de espíritu, hablaba y enseñaba con exactitud las cosas referentes a Jesús, aunquesolo conocía el bautismo de Juan^b. 26 Y comenzó a hablar con denuedo en la sinagoga. Pero cuando Priscila y Aquila^a lo oyeron, lo llevaron aparte y le explicaron con mayor exactitud el camino de Dios^b. 27 Cuando él quiso pasar a Acaya^a, los hermanos^b lo animaron, y escribieron a los discípulos^c que lo recibieran; y cuando llegó, ayudó mucho a los que por la gracia habían creído¹, 28 porque refutaba vigorosamente en público a los judíos, demostrando por las Escrituras^a que Jesús era el Cristo^1b.

After these events Paul left ^aAthens and went to ^bCorinth. 2 And he found a Jew named ^aAquila, a native of ^bPontus having recently come from ^cItaly with his wife ^dPriscilla, because ^eClaudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. He came to them, 3 and because he was of the same trade he stayed with them, and ^athey worked together, for they were tent-makers by trade. 4 And Paul was reasoning ^ain the synagogue every ^bSabbath and trying to persuade ^cJews and Greeks.

5 But when ^aSilas and Timothy ^bcame down from ^cMacedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, ^dtestifying to the Jews that ^eJesus was the ¹Christ. 6 But when they resisted and blasphemed, he ^ashook out his garments and said to them, “Your ^bblood is ¹on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go ^cto the Gentiles.” 7 Then he left ¹the synagogue and went to the house of a man named ²Titius Justus, ^aa worshiper of God, whose house was next door to the synagogue. 8 ^aCrispus, ^bthe leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord ^ctogether with his entire household; and many of the ^dCorinthians, as they listened to Paul, were believing and being baptized. 9 And the Lord said to Paul by ^aa vision at night, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city.” 11 And he settled there for a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

12 But while Gallio was ^aproconsul of ^bAchaia, ^cthe Jews rose up together against Paul and brought him before ^dthe ¹judgment seat, 13 saying, “This man is inciting the people to worship God contrary to ^athe ¹law.” 14 But when Paul was about to ^aopen his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If it were a matter of some crime or vicious, unscrupulous act, O Jews, it would be reasonable for me to put up with you; 15 but if there are ^1aquestions about ²teaching and ³persons and your own law, see to it yourselves; I am unwilling to be a judge of these matters.” 16 And he drove them away from ^athe ¹judgment seat. 17 But they all took hold of ^aSosthenes, ^bthe leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of ^cthe judgment seat. And yet Gallio was not concerned about any of these things.

18 Now Paul, when he had remained many days longer, ^atook leave of ^bthe brothers and sisters and sailed away to ^cSyria, and ^dPriscilla and ^eAquila were with him. ¹Paul first ^fhad his hair cut at ^gCenchrea, for he was keeping a vow. 19 They came to ^aEphesus, and he left them there. Now he himself entered ^bthe synagogue and reasoned with the Jews. 20 When they asked him to stay for a longer time, he did not consent, 21 but ^atook leave of them and said, “I will return to you again ^bif God wills,” and he set sail from ^cEphesus.

22 When he had landed in ^aCaesarea, he went up to Jerusalem and greeted the church, and went down to ^bAntioch.

23 And after spending some time there, he left and passed successively through the ^aGalatian region and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.

24 Now a Jew named ^aApollos, an ^bAlexandrian by birth, ¹an eloquent man, came to ^cEphesus; and he was proficient in the Scriptures. 25 This man had been instructed in ^athe way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he was accurately speaking and teaching things about Jesus, being acquainted only with ^bthe baptism of John; 26 and ¹he began speaking boldly in the synagogue. But when ^aPriscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained ^bthe way of God more accurately to him. 27 And when he wanted to go across to ^aAchaia, ^bthe brothers encouraged him and wrote to ^cthe disciples to welcome him; and when he had arrived, he greatly ¹helped those who had believed through grace, 28 for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating ^aby the Scriptures that ^bJesus was the ¹Christ.
