La mujer sabia edifica su casa^a,pero la necia con sus manos la derriba.2 Él que anda en rectitud^a teme al SEÑOR,pero el de perversos caminos^b le desprecia.3 En la boca del necio hay una vara para su espalda¹,pero los labios de los sabios los protegerán^a.4 Donde no hay bueyes, el pesebre está limpio,pero mucho rendimiento se obtiene por la fuerza del buey.5 El testigo veraz^a no mentirá,pero el testigo falso^b habla¹ mentiras^c.6 El escarnecedor busca sabiduría, y no la halla,pero para el hombre entendido el conocimiento es fácil.7 Apártate de la presencia del necio^a,porque en él no discernirás¹ palabras² de conocimiento.8 La sabiduría del prudente está en entender su camino,mas la necedad de los necios es engaño^a.9 Los necios se mofan del pecado¹,pero entre los rectos hay buena voluntad²^a.10 El corazón conoce su propia amargura^a,y un extraño no comparte su alegría.11 La casa de los impíos será destruida^a,pero la tienda de los rectos florecerá.12 Hay camino que al hombre le parece derecho^a,pero al final, es camino de muerte^b.13 Aun en la risa, el corazón puede tener dolor,y el final de la alegría puede ser tristeza^a.14 El de corazón descarriado se saciará de sus caminos^a,pero el hombre bueno estará satisfecho con el suyo¹^b.15 El simple todo lo cree,pero el prudente mira bien sus pasos.16 El sabio teme y se aparta del mal^a,pero el necio es arrogante y descuidado.17 El hombre pronto a la ira obra neciamente,y el hombre de malos designios es aborrecido.18 Los simples heredan necedad,mas los prudentes son coronados de conocimiento.19 Los malos se inclinarán ante los buenos^a,y los impíos, a las puertas del justo.20 Aun por su vecino es odiado el pobre^a,pero son muchos los que aman al rico.21 El que desprecia a su prójimo peca^a,pero es feliz el que se apiada de los pobres¹^b.22 ¿No se perderán los que traman el mal^a?;pero misericordia y verdad recibirán los que planean el bien.23 En todo trabajo hay ganancia,pero el vano hablar¹ conducesolo a la pobreza.24 La corona de los sabios es su riqueza^a,mas la necedad de los necios es insensatez.25 El testigo veraz salva vidas,pero el que habla¹ mentiras^a es traidor².26 En el temor¹ del SEÑOR hay confianza segura^a,y a los² hijos dará refugio.27 El temor¹ del SEÑOR es fuente de vida,para evadir los lazos de la muerte.28 En la multitud del pueblo está la gloria del rey,pero en la falta de pueblo está la ruina del príncipe.29 El lento para la ira^a tiene gran prudencia,pero el que es irascible¹ ensalza la necedad.30 Un corazón apacible es vida para el cuerpo^a,mas las pasiones son podredumbre de los huesos^b.31 El que oprime al pobre afrenta a su Hacedor^a,pero el que se apiada del necesitado le honra.32 El impío es derribado por su maldad¹^a,pero el justo tiene un refugio cuando muere^b.33 En el corazón del prudente reposa la sabiduría,pero en medio¹ de los necios no se da a conocer.34 La justicia engrandece a la nación,pero el pecado es afrenta para los pueblos.35 El favor del rey es para el siervo que obra sabiamente^a,mas su enojo es contra el que obra vergonzosamente.

Contrast of the Upright and the Wicked

The ^awise woman builds her house,But the foolish tears it down with her own hands.2 One who ^awalks in his uprightness fears the LORD,But one who is ^bdevious in his ways despises Him.3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod for his back,But ^athe lips of the wise will protect them.4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean;But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox.5 A ^atrustworthy witness will not lie,But a ^bfalse witness ^cdeclares lies.6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none,But knowledge is easy for one who has understanding.7 Leave the ^apresence of a fool,Or you will not ¹discern ²words of knowledge.8 The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way,But ^athe foolishness of fools is deceit.9 Fools mock at ¹sin,But ^aamong the upright there is ²goodwill.10 The heart knows its own ^abitterness,And a stranger does not share its joy.11 The ^ahouse of the wicked will be destroyed,But the tent of the upright will flourish.12 There ^ais a way which seems right to a person,But its ^bend is the way of death.13 Even in laughter the heart may be in pain,And the ^aend of joy may be grief.14 One with a wayward heart will have his ^afill of his own ways,But a good person will ^bbe satisfied ¹with his.15 The naive believes everything,But the sensible person considers his steps.16 A wise person ¹is cautious and ^aturns away from evil,But a fool is arrogant and careless.17 A quick-tempered person acts foolishly,And a person of evil devices is hated.18 The naive inherit foolishness,But the sensible are crowned with knowledge.19 The ^aevil will bow down before the good,And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.20 The ^apoor is hated even by his neighbor,But those who love the rich are many.21 One who ^adespises his neighbor sins,But ^bone who is gracious to the ¹poor is blessed.22 Will they who ^adevise evil not go astray?But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.23 In all labor there is profit,But ¹mere talk leads only to poverty.24 The ^acrown of the wise is their riches,But the foolishness of fools is simply foolishness.25 A truthful witness saves lives,But one who ^adeclares lies is ¹deceitful.26 In ¹^athe fear of the LORD there is strong confidence,And ²his children will have refuge.27 ¹The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life,By which one may avoid the snares of death.28 In a multitude of people is a king’s glory,But in the scarcity of people is a prince’s ruin.29 One who is ^aslow to anger has great understanding;But one who is ¹quick-tempered exalts foolishness.30 A ^atranquil heart is life to the body,But jealousy is ^brottenness to the bones.31 One ^awho oppresses the poor taunts ^bhis Maker,But one who is gracious to the needy honors Him.32 The wicked is ^athrust down by his own wrongdoing,But the ^brighteous has a refuge when he dies.33 Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding,But among fools it is made known.34 Righteousness exalts a nation,But sin is a disgrace to any people.35 The king’s favor is toward a ^aservant who acts wisely,But his anger is toward him who acts shamefully.
