Y los jefes de las casas paternas de la familia de los hijos de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, de las familias de los hijos de José, se acercaron^a y hablaron ante Moisés y ante los jefes, las cabezas de las casas paternas de los hijos de Israel. 2 Y dijeron: El SEÑOR ordenó a mi señor dar la tierra por sorteo a los hijos de Israel por heredad, y el SEÑOR ordenó a mi señor dar la heredad de Zelofehad, nuestro hermano, a sus hijas^a. 3 Pero si ellas se casan con¹ alguno de los hijos de las otras tribus de los hijos de Israel, su heredad será quitada de la herencia de nuestros padres, y será añadida a la heredad de la tribu a la que ellos pertenezcan; y así será quitada de nuestra heredad. 4 Y cuando llegue¹ el jubileo^a de los hijos de Israel, entonces su heredad será añadida a la heredad de la tribu a la que ellos pertenezcan; así su heredad será quitada de la heredad de la tribu de nuestros padres.

5 Entonces Moisés ordenó a los hijos de Israel, conforme a la palabra¹ del SEÑOR, diciendo: La tribu de los hijos de José tiene razón en lo que dice. 6 Esto es lo que el SEÑOR ha ordenado tocante a las hijas de Zelofehad, diciendo: «Cásense con el que bien les parezca¹; pero deben casarse dentro de la familia de la tribu de su padre^a». 7 Así, ninguna heredad de los hijos de Israel será traspasada de tribu a tribu, pues los hijos de Israel retendrán cada uno¹ la heredad de la tribu de sus padres^a. 8 Y toda hija que entre en posesión de una heredad en alguna de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, se casará con alguno de la familia de la tribu de su padre, a fin de que los hijos de Israel posean cada uno la heredad de sus padres^a. 9 De esta manera, ninguna heredad será traspasada de una tribu a otra tribu, pues las tribus de los hijos de Israel retendrán cada una¹ su propia heredad.

10 Y las hijas de Zelofehad hicieron tal como el SEÑOR había ordenado a Moisés, 11 pues Maala, Tirsa, Hogla, Milca y Noa, las hijas de Zelofehad^a, se casaron con los hijos de sus tíos. 12 Se casaron con los de las familias de los hijos de Manasés, hijo de José, y su heredad permaneció¹ con la tribu de la familia de su padre.

13 Estos son los mandamientos y las ordenanzas que el SEÑOR dio¹ a los hijos de Israel por medio² de Moisés en las llanuras de Moab, junto al Jordán, frente a Jericó^a.

^aNow the heads of the fathers’ households of the family of the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came forward and spoke before Moses and before the leaders, the heads of the fathers’ households of the sons of Israel, 2 and they said, “The LORD commanded my lord to give the land by lot to the sons of Israel as an inheritance, and my lord ^awas commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters. 3 But if they ¹marry one of the sons of the other tribes of the sons of Israel, their inheritance will be withdrawn from the inheritance of our fathers and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they belong; so it will be withdrawn from our allotted inheritance. 4 And when the ^ajubilee of the sons of Israel takes place, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they belong; so their inheritance will be withdrawn from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.”

5 Then Moses commanded the sons of Israel in accordance with the ¹word of the LORD, saying, “The tribe of the sons of Joseph is right in its statements. 6 ^aThis is ¹what the LORD has commanded regarding the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, ‘Let them marry ²whomever they wish; only they must marry within the family of the tribe of their father.’ 7 So ^ano inheritance of the sons of Israel will ¹be transferred from tribe to tribe, for the sons of Israel shall each ²retain possession of the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers. 8 ^aAnd every daughter who comes into possession of an inheritance of any tribe of the sons of Israel shall marry one of the family of the tribe of her father, so that the sons of Israel may each possess the inheritance of his fathers. 9 So no inheritance will ¹be transferred from one tribe to another tribe, for the tribes of the sons of Israel shall each ²retain possession of its own inheritance.”

10 Just as the LORD had commanded Moses, so the daughters of Zelophehad did: 11 ^aMahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad married their uncles’ sons. 12 They married those from the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance ¹remained with the tribe of the family of their father.

13 ^aThese are the commandments and the ordinances which the LORD commanded to the sons of Israel through Moses in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan opposite Jericho.

5 Then Moses commanded the sons of Israel according to the ¹word of the LORD, saying, “The tribe of the sons of Joseph are right in their statements. 6 ^aThis is ¹what the LORD has commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, ‘Let them marry ²whom they wish; only they must marry within the family of the tribe of their father.’ 7 Thus ^ano inheritance of the sons of Israel shall ¹be transferred from tribe to tribe, for the sons of Israel shall each ²hold to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers. 8 ^aEvery daughter who comes into possession of an inheritance of any tribe of the sons of Israel shall be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father, so that the sons of Israel each may possess the inheritance of his fathers. 9 Thus no inheritance shall ¹be transferred from one tribe to another tribe, for the tribes of the sons of Israel shall each ²hold to his own inheritance.”

10 Just as the LORD had commanded Moses, so the daughters of Zelophehad did: 11 ^aMahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad married their uncles’ sons. 12 They married those from the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance ¹remained with the tribe of the family of their father.
