^aEl SEÑOR habló a Moisés en el desierto de Sinaí, en la tienda de reunión, el primer día del segundo mes, en el segundo año^b de su salida de la tierra de Egipto, diciendo: 2 Haz un censo¹ de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel por sus familias, por sus casas paternas^a, según el número de nombres, todo varón, uno por uno²; 3 de veinte años arriba^a, todos los que pueden salir a la guerra en Israel, tú y Aarón los contaréis¹ por sus ejércitos. 4 Con vosotros estará además, un hombre de cada tribu, cada uno jefe^a de su casa paterna. 5 Estos son los nombres de los hombres que estarán con vosotros: de Rubén^a, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur; 6 de Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Zurisadai; 7 de Judá, Naasón^a, hijo de Aminadab; 8 de Isacar, Natanael, hijo de Zuar; 9 de Zabulón, Eliab, hijo de Helón; 10 de los hijos de José: de Efraín, Elisama, hijo de Amiud, y de Manasés, Gamaliel, hijo de Pedasur; 11 de Benjamín, Abidán, hijo de Gedeoni; 12 de Dan, Ahiezer, hijo de Amisadai; 13 de Aser, Pagiel, hijo de Ocrán; 14 de Gad, Eliasaf, hijo de Deuel^a; 15 de Neftalí, Ahira, hijo de Enán. 16 Estos son los que fueron llamados de la congregación^a, los principales de las tribus de sus padres; ellos fueron los jefes de las divisiones^1b de Israel. 17 Entonces Moisés y Aarón tomaron a estos hombres que habían sido designados por sus nombres, 18 y reunieron a toda la congregación el primer día del mes segundo^a. 20 De los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, uno por uno, todo varón de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 21 los enumerados¹ de la tribu de Rubén fueron cuarenta y seis mil quinientos^a.

22 ^aDe los hijos de Simeón, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, sus enumerados, según el número de nombres, uno por uno, todo varón de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra^b; 23 los enumerados de la tribu de Simeón fueron cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos.

24 ^aDe los hijos de Gad, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 25 los enumerados de la tribu de Gad fueron cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos cincuenta.

26 ^aDe los hijos de Judá, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 27 los enumerados de la tribu de Judá fueron setenta y cuatro mil seiscientos.

28 ^aDe los hijos de Isacar, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 29 los enumerados de la tribu de Isacar fueron cincuenta y cuatro mil cuatrocientos.

30 ^aDe los hijos de Zabulón, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 31 los enumerados de la tribu de Zabulón fueron cincuenta y siete mil cuatrocientos.

32 ^aDe los hijos de José: de los hijos de Efraín, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 33 los enumerados de la tribu de Efraín fueron cuarenta mil quinientos.

34 ^aDe los hijos de Manasés, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 35 los enumerados de la tribu de Manasés fueron treinta y dos mil doscientos.

36 ^aDe los hijos de Benjamín, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 37 los enumerados de la tribu de Benjamín fueron treinta y cinco mil cuatrocientos.

38 ^aDe los hijos de Dan, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 39 los enumerados de la tribu de Dan fueron sesenta y dos mil setecientos.

40 ^aDe los hijos de Aser, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 41 los enumerados de la tribu de Aser fueron cuarenta y un mil quinientos.

42 ^aDe los hijos de Neftalí, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra; 43 los enumerados de la tribu de Neftalí fueron cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos.

44 Estos son los que fueron enumerados, los que Moisés y Aarón contaron con los jefes de Israel, doce hombres, cada uno de los cuales era jefe de su casa paterna. 45 Y todos los enumerados de los hijos de Israel por sus casas paternas, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra en Israel, 46 fueron¹ seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta^a.

47 Pero los levitas no fueron enumerados con¹ ellos^a según la tribu de sus padres. 48 Porque el SEÑOR había hablado a Moisés, diciendo: 49 Solamente la tribu de Leví no enumerarás, ni los contarás con¹ los hijos de Israel^a; 50 sino que pondrás a los levitas a cargo del¹ tabernáculo² del testimonio, de³ todos sus utensilios y de⁴ todo lo que le pertenece. Ellos llevarán el tabernáculo y todos sus utensilios, y lo cuidarán; además, acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo^a. 51 Y cuando el tabernáculo haya de ser trasladado, los levitas lo desarmarán; y cuando el tabernáculo acampe, los levitas lo armarán^a. Pero el extraño¹ que se acerque, morirá^b. 52 Y acamparán los hijos de Israel, cada uno en su campamento, y cada uno junto a su bandera, según sus ejércitos^a. 53 Pero los levitas acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo del testimonio^a, para que no venga la ira sobre la congregación de los hijos de Israel^b. Los levitas, pues, tendrán a su cargo el tabernáculo del testimonio^c. 54 Así hicieron los hijos de Israel; conforme a todo lo que el SEÑOR había mandado a Moisés, así hicieron.

Now the LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on ^athe first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2 “^aTake a ¹census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, every male, head by head 3 from ^atwenty years old and upward, whoever is able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall ¹count them by their armies. 4 With you, moreover, there shall be a man of each tribe, ^aeach one head of his father’s household. 5 These then are the names of the men who shall stand with you: ^aof the tribe of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur; 6 of the tribe of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai; 7 of the tribe of Judah, ^aNahshon the son of Amminadab; 8 of Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar; 9 of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon; 10 of the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur; 11 of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni; 12 of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai; 13 of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran; 14 of Gad, Eliasaph the son of ^aDeuel; 15 of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan. 16 These are the men who were ^acalled from the congregation, the leaders of their fathers’ tribes; they were the ^bheads of ¹divisions of Israel.”

17 So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name, 18 and they assembled all the congregation on the ^afirst day of the second month. Then they registered by ^bancestry in their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, head by head, 19 just as ^athe LORD had commanded Moses. So he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.

20 ^aNow the sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 21 their numbered men of the tribe of Reuben were 46,500.

22 ^aOf the sons of Simeon, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, their numbered men, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, ^bwhoever was able to go to war, 23 their numbered men of the tribe of Simeon were 59,300.

24 ^aOf the sons of Gad, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 25 their numbered men of the tribe of Gad were 45,650.

26 ^aOf the sons of Judah, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 27 their numbered men of the tribe of Judah were 74,600.

28 ^aOf the sons of Issachar, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 29 their numbered men of the tribe of Issachar were 54,400.

30 ^aOf the sons of Zebulun, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 31 their numbered men of the tribe of Zebulun were 57,400.

32 ^aOf the sons of Joseph, namely, of the sons of Ephraim, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 33 their numbered men of the tribe of Ephraim were 40,500.

34 ^aOf the sons of Manasseh, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 35 their numbered men of the tribe of Manasseh were 32,200.

36 ^aOf the sons of Benjamin, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 37 their numbered men of the tribe of Benjamin were 35,400.

38 ^aOf the sons of Dan, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 39 their numbered men of the tribe of Dan were 62,700.

40 ^aOf the sons of Asher, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 41 their numbered men of the tribe of Asher were 41,500.

42 ^aOf the sons of Naphtali, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war, 43 their numbered men of the tribe of Naphtali were 53,400.

44 These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron counted, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each of whom was of his father’s household. 45 So all the numbered men of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ households, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war in Israel, 46 all the numbered men were ^a603,550.

47 ^aThe Levites, however, were not counted among them by their fathers’ tribe. 48 For the LORD had spoken to Moses, saying, 49 “Only the tribe of Levi ^ayou shall not count, nor shall you take their ¹census among the sons of Israel. 50 And you shall ^aappoint the Levites over the ¹tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings and over everything that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it; they shall also camp around the ²tabernacle. 51 ^aSo when the tabernacle is to move on, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up. But ^bthe ¹layman who comes near it shall be put to death. 52 ^aSo the sons of Israel shall camp, each man by his own camp, and each man by his own ¹flag, according to their armies. 53 ^aBut the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be ^bno divine wrath against the congregation of the sons of Israel. ^cSo the Levites shall be responsible for service to the tabernacle of the testimony.” 54 And the sons of Israel did so; in accordance with all that the LORD had commanded Moses, so they did.

36 ^aOf the sons of Benjamin, their genealogical registration by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go out to war, 37 their numbered men of the tribe of Benjamin were 35,400.

38 ^aOf the sons of Dan, their genealogical registration by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go out to war, 39 their numbered men of the tribe of Dan were 62,700.

40 ^aOf the sons of Asher, their genealogical registration by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go out to war, 41 their numbered men of the tribe of Asher were 41,500.

42 ^aOf the sons of Naphtali, their genealogical registration by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go out to war, 43 their numbered men of the tribe of Naphtali were 53,400.

44 These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each of whom was of his father’s household. 45 So all the numbered men of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ households, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go out to war in Israel, 46 even all the numbered men were ^a603,550.

47 ^aThe Levites, however, were not numbered among them by their fathers’ tribe. 48 For the LORD had spoken to Moses, saying, 49 “Only the tribe of Levi ^ayou shall not number, nor shall you take their ¹census among the sons of Israel. 50 But you shall ^aappoint the Levites over the ¹tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it; they shall also camp around the ²tabernacle. 51 ^aSo when the tabernacle is to set out, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up. But ^bthe ¹layman who comes near shall be put to death. 52 ^aThe sons of Israel shall camp, each man by his own camp, and each man by his own standard, according to their armies. 53 ^aBut the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be ^bno wrath on the congregation of the sons of Israel. ^cSo the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.” 54 Thus the sons of Israel did; according to all which the LORD had commanded Moses, so they did.
