Iniquidad y rebelión de Israel

Cuando yo quería curar a Israel,se descubrió la iniquidad de Efraín^ay las maldades de Samaria,porque practican el engaño^b;el ladrón entra,los bandidos despojan por fuera^c,2 y ellos no consideran en¹ su corazónque yo recuerdo toda su maldad^a.Ahora les rodean sus hechos^b,ante mi rostro están.3 Con su maldad^a alegran al rey^b,y con sus mentiras a los príncipes^c.4 Todos ellos son adúlteros^a;son como horno encendido por el hornero,que deja de atizar el fuegodesde que prepara¹ la masa hasta que fermenta.5 En la fiesta¹ de nuestro rey, los príncipes se enfermaron por el calor del vino^a;él extendió la mano a los escarnecedores^b,6 pues sus corazones son como un hornomientras se acercan a su emboscada;toda la noche duerme su ira¹,por la mañana arde como llamas de fuego^a.7 Todos ellos están calientes como un horno,y devoran a sus gobernantes^a;todos sus reyes han caído.No hay entre ellos quien me invoque^b.

8 Efraín se mezcla con las naciones¹^a;Efraín es como una torta no volteada.9 Devoran extranjeros su fuerza^a,y él no lo sabe^b;también tiene cabellos canos,y él no lo sabe.10 Testifica contra él¹ el orgullo de Israel^a,pero no se han vuelto al SEÑOR su Dios,ni lo han buscado^b a pesar de todo esto.11 Efraín es como paloma incauta^a, sin entendimiento¹^b;llaman a Egipto^c, acuden a Asiria^d.12 Cuando vayan, tenderé sobre ellos mi red^a,como aves del cielo los haré caer;los castigaré conforme a lo anunciado a su congregación¹^b.13 ¡Ay de ellos^a, pues de mí se han alejado^b!Sobre ellos vendrá¹ la destrucción, porque contra mí se han rebelado;yo los redimiría, pero ellos hablan mentiras contra mí^c.14 Y no claman a mí^a de corazóncuando gimen en sus lechos;por el trigo y el mosto se reunen¹^b,y se alejan de mí^c.15 Aunque yo adiestré y fortalecí sus brazos,traman el mal contra mí^a.16 Se vuelven, pero no hacia lo alto¹,son como un arco engañoso^a.Sus príncipes caerán a espadapor la insolencia² de sus lenguas^b;esto será su escarnio en la tierra de Egipto^c.

Ephraim’s Wrongdoing

When I ^awould heal Israel,The wrongdoing of Ephraim is uncovered,And the evil deeds of Samaria,For they practice ^bdeception;The thief enters,A band of ^crobbers attack outside,2 And they do not ¹consider in their heartsThat I ^aremember all their wickedness.Now their ^bdeeds surround them;They are before My face.3 ^aWith their wickedness they make the ^bking happy,And the officials with their ^clies.4 They are ^aall adulterers,Like an oven heated by the baker,Who stops ¹stoking the fireFrom the time the dough is kneaded until it is leavened.5 On the ¹day of our king, the officials ^abecame sick with the heat of wine;He stretched out his hand with ²^bscoffers,6 For their hearts are like an ^aovenAs they approach their ¹plotting;Their ²anger ³smolders all night,In the morning it burns like flaming fire.7 All of them are hot like an oven,And they consume their ^arulers;All their kings have fallen.^bNone of them calls on Me.

8 Ephraim is himself ^athrown about with the ¹nations;Ephraim has become a round loaf not turned over.9 ^aStrangers devour his strength,Yet he ^bdoes not know it;Gray hairs also are sprinkled on him,Yet he does not know it.10 Though the ^apride of Israel testifies against him,Yet ^bthey have not returned to the LORD their God,Nor have they sought Him, despite all this.11 So ^aEphraim has become like a gullible dove, ^bwithout ¹sense;They call to ^cEgypt, they go to ^dAssyria.12 When they go, I will ^aspread My net over them;I will bring them down like the birds of the sky.I will ^bdiscipline them in accordance with the ¹proclamation to their assembly.13 ^aWoe to them, for they have ^bstrayed from Me!Destruction is theirs, for they have rebelled against Me!I ^cwould redeem them, but they have spoken lies against Me.14 And ^athey do not cry to Me from their heartWhen they wail on their beds;For the sake of grain and new wine they ¹^bassemble themselves,They ^cturn against Me.15 Although I trained and strengthened their arms,Yet they ^adevise evil against Me.16 They turn, but not ¹upward,They are like a ^aloose bow;Their officials will fall by the swordBecause of the ²^binsolence of their tongue.This will be their ^cderision in the land of Egypt.
