Por tanto, temamos, no sea que permaneciendo aún la¹ promesa de entrar en su reposo², alguno de vosotros parezca no haberlo alcanzado^a. 2 Porque en verdad, a nosotros se nos ha anunciado la buena nueva, como también a ellos; pero la palabra que ellos oyeron¹ no les aprovechó por no ir acompañada por la fe en² los que la oyeron^a. 3 Porque¹ los que hemos creído entramos en ese reposo, tal como Él ha dicho:COMO JURÉ EN MI IRA:«NO ENTRARÁN EN MI REPOSO^a»,aunque las obras de Él estaban acabadas desde la fundación del mundo^b. 4 Porque así ha dicho en cierto lugar^a acerca del séptimo día: Y DIOS REPOSÓ EN EL SÉPTIMO DÍA DE TODAS SUS OBRAS^b; 5 y otra vez en este pasaje: NO ENTRARÁN EN MI REPOSO^a. 6 Por tanto, puesto que todavía falta que algunos entren en él, y aquellos a quienes antes se les anunció la buena nueva no entraron por causa de su desobediencia^1a, 7 Dios otra vez fija un día: Hoy. Diciendo por medio de¹ David después de mucho tiempo, como se ha dicho antes:SI OÍS HOY SU VOZ, NO ENDUREZCÁIS VUESTROS CORAZONES^a. 8 Porque si Josué¹ les hubiera dado reposo^a, Dios no habría hablado de otro día después deese. 9 Queda, por tanto, un reposo sagrado para el pueblo de Dios. 10 Pues el que ha entrado a su reposo¹, él mismo ha reposado de sus obras^a, como Dios reposó de las suyas^b. 11 Por tanto, esforcémonos por entrar en ese reposo, no sea que alguno caiga siguiendo el mismo ejemplo^a de desobediencia^b.

12 Porque la palabra de Dios^a es viva^b y eficaz^c, y más cortante que cualquier espada de dos filos^d; penetra hasta la división del alma y del espíritu^e, de las coyunturas y los tuétanos, y es poderosa para discernir¹ los pensamientos y las intenciones del corazón^f. 13 Y no hay cosa creada oculta a su vista^1a, sino que todas las cosas están al descubierto² y desnudas^b ante los ojos de aquel a quien tenemos que dar cuenta.

14 Teniendo, pues, un gran Sumo Sacerdote^a que trascendió^1b los cielos, Jesús, el Hijo de Dios^c, retengamos nuestra fe^2d. 15 Porque no tenemos un sumo sacerdote^a que no pueda compadecerse de nuestras flaquezas, sino uno que ha sido tentado en todo como nosotros^b, pero sin pecado^c. 16 Por tanto, acerquémonos^a con confianza^b al trono de la gracia para que recibamos misericordia, y hallemos gracia para la ayuda oportuna.

Therefore, we must fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have ^acome short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also did; but ^athe word ¹they heard did not benefit them, because ²they were not united with those who listened with faith. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,“^aAS I SWORE IN MY ANGER,THEY CERTAINLY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,”although His works were finished ^bfrom the foundation of the world. 4 For He has said ^asomewhere concerning the seventh day: “^bAND GOD ^cRESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS”; 5 and again in this passage, “^aTHEY CERTAINLY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.” 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who previously had good news preached to them failed to enter because of ^adisobedience, 7 He again sets a certain day, “Today,” saying ¹through David after so long a time just ^aas has been said before,“^bTODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS.” 8 For ^aif ¹Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. 9 Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also ^arested from his works, as ^bGod did from His. 11 Therefore let’s make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same ^aexample of ^bdisobedience. 12 For ^athe word of God is ^bliving and ^cactive, and sharper than any two-edged ^dsword, even penetrating as far as the division of ^esoul and ^fspirit, of both joints and marrow, and ^gable to ¹judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And ^athere is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are ^bopen and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom ¹we must answer.

14 Therefore, since we have a great ^ahigh priest who has ^bpassed through the heavens, Jesus ^cthe Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our ^dconfession. 15 For we do not have ^aa high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been ^btempted in all things just as we are, yet ^cwithout sin. 16 Therefore let’s ^aapproach the throne of grace with ^bconfidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.
