Entonces gritó a mis oídos con gran voz, diciendo^a: Acercaos, verdugos de la ciudad, cada uno con su arma destructora en la mano. 2 Y he aquí, seis hombres venían por el camino de la puerta superior que mira al norte, cada uno con su arma destructora en la mano; y entre ellos había un hombre vestido de lino^a con una cartera¹ de escribano a la cintura². Y entraron y se pusieron junto al altar de bronce.

3 Entonces la gloria del Dios de Israel subió del querubín sobre el cual había estado, hacia el umbral del templo^1a. Y llamó al hombre vestido de lino que tenía la cartera de escribano a la cintura; 4 y el SEÑOR le dijo: Pasa por en medio de la ciudad, por en medio de Jerusalén, y pon una señal en la frente de los hombres^a que gimen y se lamentan por todas las abominaciones que se cometen en medio de ella^b. 5 Pero a los otros dijo, y yo lo oí¹: Pasad por la ciudad en pos de él y herid; no tenga piedad vuestro ojo, no perdonéis. 6 Matad a viejos, jóvenes, doncellas^a, niños y mujeres hasta el exterminio, pero no toquéis a ninguno sobre quien esté la señal^b. Comenzaréis por mi santuario^c. Comenzaron, pues, con los ancianos que estaban delante del templo¹. 7 Entonces les dijo: Profanad el templo¹ y llenad de muertos los atrios^a. ¡Salid! Y salieron, y fueron hiriendo por la ciudad. 8 Y sucedió que mientras herían, quedé yo solo y caí sobre mi rostro^a; clamé y dije: ¡Ah, Señor DIOS¹! ¿Destruirás a todo el remanente de Israel derramando² tu furor sobre Jerusalén^b? 9 Entonces me dijo: La iniquidad de la casa de Israel y de Judá es grande en extremo, la tierra está llena de sangre, y la ciudad está llena de perversión^a; porque dicen: «El SEÑOR ha abandonado la tierra, el SEÑOR nada ve^b». 10 Mas en cuanto a mí, tampoco mi ojo tendrá piedad, ni yo perdonaré^a, sino que haré recaer su conducta sobre sus cabezas^b.

11 Y he aquí, el hombre vestido de lino que tenía la cartera a la cintura, trajo un informe¹, diciendo: He hecho tal como me ordenaste.

Then He cried out in my ¹presence with a loud ^avoice, saying, “Come forward, you ²executioners of the city, each with his weapon of destruction in his hand.” 2 And behold, six men came from the direction of the upper gate which faces north, each with his smashing weapon in his hand; and among them was ^aone man clothed in linen with a scribe’s kit at his waist. And they came in and stood beside the bronze altar.

3 Then the ^aglory of the God of Israel ascended from the cherub on which it had been, to the threshold of the ¹temple. And He called to the man clothed in linen at whose waist was the scribe’s kit. 4 And the LORD said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and make a ^amark on the foreheads of the people who ^bgroan and sigh over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.” 5 But to the others He said in my ¹presence, “Go through the city after him and strike; do not let your eye have pity and do not spare. 6 ¹Utterly ^akill old men, young men, female virgins, little children, and women, but do not ^btouch any person on whom is the mark; and you shall ^cstart from My sanctuary.” So they started with the ²elders who were before the ³temple. 7 He also said to them, “^aDefile the ¹temple and fill the courtyards with the dead. Go out!” So they went out and struck and killed the people in the city. 8 And as they were striking the people and I alone was left, I ^afell on my face and cried out, ¹saying, “^bOh, Lord ²GOD! Are You going to destroy the entire remnant of Israel ³by pouring out Your wrath on Jerusalem?”

9 Then He said to me, “The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is very, very great, and the land is ^afilled with blood, and the city is ^bfull of perversion; for ^cthey say, ‘The LORD has abandoned the land, and the LORD does not see!’ 10 But as for Me, ^aMy eye will have no pity nor will I spare, but ^bI will bring their conduct upon their heads.”

11 Then behold, the man clothed in linen, at whose waist was the scribe’s kit, ¹reported, saying, “I have done just as You have commanded me.”

Then He cried out in my hearing with a loud ^avoice saying, “Draw near, ¹O executioners of the city, each with his destroying weapon in his hand.” 2 Behold, six men came from the direction of the upper gate which faces north, each with his shattering weapon in his hand; and among them was ^aa certain man clothed in linen with a ¹writing case at his loins. And they went in and stood beside the bronze altar.

And He called to the man clothed in linen at whose loins was the writing case. 4 The LORD said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a ^amark on the foreheads of the men who ^bsigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.” 5 But to the others He said in my hearing, “Go through the city after him and strike; do not let your eye have pity and do not spare. 6 ¹Utterly ^aslay old men, young men, maidens, little children, and women, but do not ^btouch any man on whom is the mark; and you shall ^cstart from My sanctuary.” So they started with the ²elders who were before the ³temple. 7 And He said to them, “^aDefile the ¹temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” Thus they went out and struck down the people in the city. 8 As they were striking the people and I alone was left, I ^afell on my face and cried out ¹saying, “^bAlas, Lord ²GOD! Are You destroying the whole remnant of Israel ³by pouring out Your wrath on Jerusalem?”

9 Then He said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is very, very great, and the land is ^afilled with blood and the city is ^bfull of perversion; for ^cthey say, ‘The LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD does not see!’ 10 But as for Me, ^aMy eye will have no pity nor will I spare, but ^bI will bring their conduct upon their heads.”

11 Then behold, the man clothed in linen at whose loins was the ¹writing case ²reported, saying, “I have done just as You have commanded me.”
