Y escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Sardis^a:«El que tiene los siete Espíritus de Dios^b y las siete estrellas^c, dice esto: “Yo conozco tus obras^d, que tienes nombre de que vives, pero estás muerto^e. 2 Ponte en vela y afirma las cosas que quedan, que estaban a punto de morir, porque no he hallado completas tus obras delante de mi Dios. 3 Acuérdate^a, pues, de lo que¹ has recibido y oído; guárdalo y arrepiéntete^b. Por tanto, si no velas, vendré^c como ladrón^d, y no sabrás a qué hora vendré sobre ti^e. 4 Pero tienes unos pocos^1a en Sardis^b que no han manchado sus vestiduras^c, y andarán conmigo vestidos de blanco^d, porque son dignos. 5 Así el vencedor^1a será vestido de² vestiduras^b blancas y no borraré su nombre del libro de la vida^c, y reconoceré su nombre delante de mi Padre^d y delante de sus ángeles. 6 El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias^a”».

7 Y escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Filadelfia^a:«El Santo^b, el Verdadero^c, el que tiene la llave de David^d, el que abre y nadie cierra¹, y cierra y nadie abre, dice esto: 8 “Yo conozco tus obras^a. Mira, he puesto delante de ti una puerta abierta que nadie puede cerrar^b, porque tienes un poco de poder, has guardado mi palabra y no has negado mi nombre^c. 9 He aquí, yo entregaré¹ a aquellos de la sinagoga de Satanás^a que se dicen ser judíos y no lo son, sino que mienten; he aquí, yo haré que vengan y se postren a² tus pies^b, y sepan que yo te he amado^c. 10 Porque has guardado la palabra^a de mi perseverancia^b, yo también te guardaré^c de la hora de la prueba^1d, esa hora que está por venir sobre todo el mundo^2e para poner a prueba³ a los que habitan sobre la tierra^f. 11 Vengo pronto^a; retén firme lo que tienes^b, para que nadie tome tu corona^c. 12 Al vencedor^1a le haré una columna en el templo de mi Dios^b, y nunca más saldrá de allí²; escribiré sobre él el nombre de mi Dios^c, y el nombre de la ciudad de mi Dios^d, la nueva Jerusalén^e, que desciende del cielo de mi Dios, y mi nombre nuevo^f. 13 El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias^a”».

14 Y escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Laodicea^a:«El Amén^b, el Testigo fiel y verdadero^c, el Principio¹ de la creación de Dios^d, dice esto: 15 “Yo conozco tus obras^a, que ni eres frío ni caliente. ¡Ojalá fueras frío o caliente^b! 16 Así, puesto que eres tibio, y no frío ni caliente, te vomitaré de mi boca. 17 Porque dices: ‘Soy rico, me he enriquecido y de nada tengo necesidad’; y no sabes que eres un miserable y digno de lástima, y pobre, ciego y desnudo^a, 18 te aconsejo que de mí compres^a oro refinado por fuego^b para que te hagas rico, y vestiduras blancas^c para que te vistas y no se manifieste la vergüenza de tu desnudez^d, y colirio para ungir tus ojos para que puedas ver. 19 Yo reprendo y disciplino a todos los que amo^a; sé, pues, celoso y arrepiéntete^b. 20 He aquí, yo estoy a la puerta^a y llamo^b; si alguno oye mi voz y abre la puerta, entraré a él, y cenaré con él y él conmigo^c. 21 Al vencedor^1a, le concederé sentarse conmigo en mi trono^b, como yo también vencí y me senté con mi Padre en su trono^c. 22 El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias^a”».

7 “And to the angel of the church in ^aPhiladelphia write:

^bHe who is holy, ^cwho is true, who has ^dthe key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:

8 ‘^aI know your ¹deeds. Behold, I have put before you ^ban open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have followed My word, and ^chave not denied My name. 9 Behold, I ¹will make those of ^athe synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—I will make them ^bcome and bow down before your feet, and make them know that ^cI have loved you. 10 Because you have ^akept ^bMy ¹word of perseverance, ^cI also will keep you from the hour of the ^2dtesting, that hour which is about to come upon the whole ^3eworld, to ⁴test ^fthose who live on the earth. 11 ^aI am coming quickly; ^bhold firmly to what you have, so that no one will take your ^ccrown. 12 ^aThe one who overcomes, I will make him a ^bpillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the ^cname of My God, and ^dthe name of the city of My God, ^ethe new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My ^fnew name. 13 ^aThe one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

14 “To the angel of the church in ^aLaodicea write:

^bThe Amen, ^cthe faithful and true Witness, ^dthe ¹Origin of the creation of God, says this:

15 ‘^aI know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; ^bI wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, “^aI am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, 18 I advise you to ^abuy from Me ^bgold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and ^cwhite garments so that you may clothe yourself and ^dthe shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to apply to your eyes so that you may see. 19 ^aThose whom I love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and ^brepent. 20 Behold, I stand ^aat the door and ^bknock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, ^cI will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 ^aThe one who overcomes, I will grant to him ^bto sit with Me on My throne, as ^cI also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne. 22 ^aThe one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

“To the angel (divine messenger) of the church in ^1aSardis write:

These are the words of Him who has ^2bthe seven Spirits of God and ^cthe seven stars: ‘^dI know your deeds; you have a name (reputation) that you are alive, but in reality you are ^edead. 2 Wake up, and strengthen and reaffirm what remains of your faithful commitment to Me, which is about to die; for I have not found any of your deeds completed in the sight of My God or meeting His requirements. 3 So ^aremember and take to heart the lessons you have received and heard. Keep and obey them, and ^brepent change your sinful way of thinking, and demonstrate your repentance with new behavior that proves a conscious decision to turn away from sin. So then, if you do not wake up, ^cI will come ^dlike a thief, and you will not know at ^ewhat hour I will come to you. 4 But you still have a few ^apeople in ^bSardis who have not ^csoiled their clothes that is, contaminated their character and personal integrity with sin; and they will walk with Me dressed ^din white, because they are worthy (righteous) . 5 ^aHe who overcomes the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God will accordingly be dressed in ^bwhite clothing; and I will never ^cblot out his name from the Book of Life, and ^dI will confess and openly acknowledge his name before My Father and before His angels saying that he is one of Mine. Ps 69:28; Dan 12:1; Matt 10:32; 1+@John 5:5 6 ^aHe who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches.’

7 “And to the angel (divine messenger) of the church in ^1aPhiladelphia write:

These are the words of ^bthe Holy One, ^cthe True One, He who has ^dthe key to the house of David, He who opens and no one will be able to shut, and He who shuts and no one opens: Is 22:22

8 ‘^aI know your deeds. See, I have set before you ^ban open door which no one is able to shut, for you have a little power, and have kept My word, and ^chave not renounced or denied My name. 1+@Cor 16:9; Col 4:3, 4 9 Take note, I will make those of ^athe synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—I will make them ^bcome and bow down at your feet and make them know without any doubt that ^cI have loved you. 14 “To the angel (divine messenger) of the church in ^1aLaodicea write:

These are the words of ^bthe Amen, ^cthe trusted and faithful and true Witness, ^dthe ²Beginning and Origin of God’s creation:

15 ‘^aI know your deeds, that you are ¹neither cold (invigorating, refreshing) nor hot (healing, therapeutic) ; ^bI wish that you were ²cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless) , and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth rejecting you with disgust. 17 Because you say, “^aI am rich, and have prospered and grown wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked without hope and in great need, Hos 12:8 18 I counsel you to ^abuy from Me ^bgold that has been heated red hot and refined by fire so that you may become truly rich; and ^cwhite clothes representing righteousness to clothe yourself so that ^dthe shame of your nakedness will not be seen; and healing salve to put on your eyes so that you may see. 19 ^aThose whom I dearly and tenderly love, I rebuke and discipline showing them their faults and instructing them; so be enthusiastic and ^brepent change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will.
