Y Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: Es inevitable que vengan tropiezos¹, pero ¡ay de aquel por quien vienen^a! 2 Mejor le sería si se le colgara una piedra de molino al cuello y fuera arrojado al mar, que hacer tropezar¹ a uno de estos pequeños^a. 3 ¡Tened cuidado¹! Si tu hermano peca, repréndelo^a; y si se arrepiente, perdónalo. 4 Y si peca contra ti siete veces al día, y vuelve a ti siete veces, diciendo: «Me arrepiento», perdónalo^1a.

5 Y los apóstoles^a dijeron al Señor^b: ¡Auméntanos la fe! 6 Entonces el Señor^a dijo: Si tuvierais fe como un grano de mostaza^b, diríais a este sicómoro^c: «Desarráigate y plántate en el mar». Y os obedecería¹. 7 ¿Quién de vosotros tiene un siervo arando o pastoreando ovejas, y cuando regresa del campo, le dice: «Ven enseguida y siéntate¹ a comer»? 8 ¿No le dirá más bien: «Prepárame algo para cenar, y vístete¹ adecuadamente, y sírveme^a hasta que haya comido y bebido; y después² comerás y beberás tú»? 9 ¿Acaso le da las gracias al siervo porque hizo lo que se le ordenó? 10 Así también vosotros, cuando hayáis hecho todo lo que se os ha ordenado, decid: «Siervos inútiles somos; hemos hechosolo lo que debíamos haber hecho».

11 Y aconteció que mientras iba camino a Jerusalén^a, pasaba entre¹ Samaria^b y Galilea, 12 y al entrar en cierta aldea, le salieron al encuentro diez hombres leprosos, que se pararon a distancia^a, 13 y alzaron la voz, diciendo: ¡Jesús, Maestro^a! ¡Ten misericordia de nosotros! 14 Cuando Él los vio, les dijo: Id y mostraos a los sacerdotes^a. Y sucedió que mientras iban, quedaron limpios. 15 Entonces uno de ellos, al ver que había sido sanado, se volvió glorificando a Dios^a en alta voz. 16 Y cayó sobre su rostro a los pies de Jesús¹, dándole gracias; yeste era samaritano^a. 17 Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¿No fueron diez los que quedaron limpios? Y los otros nueve, ¿dónde están? 18 ¿No hubo ninguno que regresara¹ a dar gloria a Dios^a, excepto este extranjero? 19 Y le dijo: Levántate y vete; tu fe te ha sanado^1a.

20 Habiéndole preguntado los fariseos cuándo vendría el reino de Dios^a, Jesús les respondió, y dijo: El reino de Dios no viene con señales^b visibles¹, 21 ni dirán: «¡Mirad, aquí está!» o: «¡Allí^a está!» Porque he aquí, el reino de Dios entre¹ vosotros está.

22 Y dijo a los discípulos: Vendrán días^a cuando ansiaréis ver uno de los días del Hijo del Hombre, y no lo veréis. 23 Y os dirán: «¡Mirad allí! ¡Mirad aquí!». No vayáis, ni corráis tras ellos^a. 24 Porque como el relámpago al fulgurar resplandece desde un extremo¹ del cielo hasta el otro extremo² del cielo, así será el Hijo del Hombre en su día^a. 25 Pero primero es necesario que Él padezca mucho y sea rechazado por esta generación^a. 26 ^aTal como ocurrió en los días de Noé^b, así será también en los días del Hijo del Hombre. 27 Comían, bebían, se casaban y se daban en casamiento, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca, y vino el diluvio y los destruyó a todos. 28 Fue lo mismo que¹ ocurrió en los días de Lot^a: comían, bebían, compraban, vendían, plantaban, construían; 29 pero el día en que Lot salió de Sodoma, llovió fuego y azufre del cielo y los destruyó a todos. 30 Lo mismo¹ acontecerá el día en que el Hijo del Hombre sea revelado^a. 31 En ese día, el que esté en la azotea y tenga sus bienes en casa, no descienda a llevárselos; y de igual modo, el que esté en el campo no vuelva atrás^a. 32 Acordaos de la mujer de Lot^a. 33 Todo el que procure preservar su vida¹, la perderá; y todo el que la pierda, la conservará^a. 34 Os digo que en aquella noche estarán dos en una cama; uno será tomado y el otro será dejado. 35 Estarán dos mujeres moliendo en el mismo lugar; una será tomada y la otra será dejada^a. 36 ¹Dos estarán en el campo; uno será tomado y el otro será dejado^a. 37 Respondiendo ellos, le dijeron*: ¿Dónde, Señor? Y Él les dijo: Donde esté el cuerpo, allí también se juntarán los buitres^1a.

Now He said to His disciples, “^aIt is inevitable that ¹stumbling blocks come, but woe to one through whom they come! 2 ^aIt is better for him if a millstone is hung around his neck and he ¹is thrown into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to ²sin. 3 ¹Be on your guard! ^aIf your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you ^aseven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”

5 ^aThe apostles said to ^bthe Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 But ^athe Lord said, “If you ¹had faith ²the size of ^ba mustard seed, you could say to this ^cmulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would ³obey you.

7 “Now which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him after he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and recline at the table to eat’? 8 On the contrary, will he not say to him, ‘^aPrepare something for me to eat, and properly ¹clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and ²afterward you ³may eat and drink’? 9 He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he? 10 So you too, when you do all the things which were commanded you, say, ‘We are ¹unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’”

11 While He was ^aon the way to Jerusalem, ^bHe was passing ¹between Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as He entered a village, ten men with leprosy who ^astood at a distance met Him; 13 and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, ^aMaster, have mercy on us!” 14 When He saw them, He said to them, “^aGo and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they were going, they were cleansed. 15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, ^aglorifying God with a loud voice, 16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a ^aSamaritan. 17 But Jesus responded and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine—where are they? 18 ¹Was no one found who returned to ^agive glory to God, except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Stand up and go; ^ayour faith has ¹made you well.”

20 Now He was questioned by the Pharisees ^aas to when the kingdom of God was coming, and He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with ^1bsigns that can be observed; 21 nor will ^athey say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is ¹in your midst.”

22 And He said to the disciples, “^aThe days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 ^aAnd they will say to you, ‘Look there,’ or, ‘Look here!’ Do not leave, and do not run after them. 24 ^aFor just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part ¹of the sky, shines to the other part ²of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25 ^aBut first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 ^aAnd just as it happened ^bin the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of Man: 27 people were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, and they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 ¹It was the same as happened in ^athe days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, and they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and ¹brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be ¹just the same on the day that the Son of Man ^ais revealed. 31 On that day, the one who will be ^aon the ¹housetop, ²with his goods in the house, must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one in the field must not turn back. 32 ^aRemember Lot’s wife. 33 ^aWhoever strives to ¹save his ²life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will keep it. 34 I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 ^aThere will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left. 36 [^1aTwo men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”] 37 And responding, they *said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “^aWhere the body is, there also the ¹vultures will be gathered.”

Jesus said to His disciples, “^aStumbling blocks temptations and traps set to lure one to sin are sure to come, but woe (judgment is coming) to him through whom they come! Matt 18:7 2 ^aIt would be better for him if a millstone as large as one turned by a donkey were hung around his neck and he were hurled into the sea, than for him to cause one of these ¹little ones to stumble in sin and lose faith. Matt 18:6; Mark 9:42 3 Pay attention and always be on guard looking out for one another! ^aIf your brother sins and disregards God’s precepts, solemnly warn him; and if he repents and changes, forgive him. 4 Even if he sins against you ^aseven times a day, and returns to you seven times and says, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him that is, give up resentment and consider the offense recalled and annulled.”

5 ^aThe apostles said to ^bthe Lord, “Increase our faith our ability to confidently trust in God and in His power.” 6 And ^athe Lord said, “If you ¹have confident, abiding faith in God even as small as ^ba mustard seed, you could say to this ^cmulberry tree which has very strong roots, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea’; and if the request was in agreement with the will of God it would have obeyed you. Matt 17:20; Mark 11:23; 1+@John 5:14

7 “Which of you who has a servant plowing or tending sheep will say to him when he comes in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat?’ 8 Will he not instead say to him, ‘^aPrepare something for me to eat, and appropriately clothe yourself for service and serve me while I eat and drink; then afterward you may eat and drink?’ 9 He does not thank the servant just because he did what he was ordered to do, does he? 10 So you too, when you have done everything that was assigned and commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants undeserving of praise or a reward, for we have not gone beyond our obligation; we have merely done what we ought to do.’”

11 While Jesus was ^aon the way to Jerusalem, He ^bwas passing along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As He entered a village, He was met by ten lepers who ^astood at a distance; 13 and they raised their voices and called out, “Jesus, ^aMaster, have mercy on us!” 14 When He saw them, He said to them, “^aGo and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were miraculously healed and made clean. Lev 14:2-32 15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, ^aglorifying and praising and honoring God with a loud voice; 16 and he lay face downward at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him over and over. He was a ^1aSamaritan. 17 Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten of you cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Was there no one found to return and to ^agive thanks and praise to God, except this foreigner?” 19 Jesus said to him, “Get up and go on your way. ^aYour faith your personal trust in Me and your confidence in God’s power has restored you to health.”

20 Now having been asked by the Pharisees ^awhen the kingdom of God would come, He replied, “The kingdom of God is not coming with ^bsigns to be observed or with a visible display; 21 nor will ^apeople say, ‘Look! Here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For the kingdom of God is among you because of My presence.”

22 Then He said to the disciples, “^aThe time will come when you will long to see even one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 ^aThey will say to you, ‘Look the Messiah is there!’ or ‘Look He is here!’ Do not go away to see Him, and do not run after them. 24 ^aFor just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part ¹of the sky, gives light to the other part ²of the sky, so visible will the Son of Man be in His day. 25 ^aBut first He must suffer many things and be repudiated and rejected and considered unfit to be the Messiah by this unbelieving generation. 26 ^aAnd just as it was ^bin the days of Noah, so it will be in the ¹time of the second coming of the Son of Man: 27 the people were ¹eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, they were indifferent to God until the day that Noah went into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Gen 6:5-8; 7:6-24 28 It was the same as it was in ^athe days of Lot. People were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building carrying on business as usual, without regard for their sins; 29 but on the very day that Lot left Sodom it rained fire and brimstone (burning sulfur) from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man ^ais revealed. Gen 18:20-33; 19:24, 25 31 On that day, whoever is ^aon the housetop, with his belongings in the house, must not come down and go inside to take them out; and likewise whoever is in the field must not turn back. 32 ^aRemember what happened to Lot’s wife when she looked back! Gen 19:26 33 ^aWhoever seeks to save his ¹life will eventually lose it through death, and whoever loses his life in this world will keep it from the consequences of sin and separation from God. Matt 10:39; 16:25; Mark 8:35; Luke 9:24; John 12:25 34 I tell you, on that night when Messiah comes again there will be two sleeping in one bed; the ¹one (the non-believer) will be taken away in judgment and the ²other (the believer) will be left. 35 ^aThere will be two women grinding at the mill together; the ¹one (the non-believer) will be taken away in judgment and the other (the believer) will be left. 36 [^1aTwo men will be in the field; ²one will be taken and the other will be left.”] 37 And they asked Him, “Where, Lord?” He answered, “^aWhere the corpse is, there the vultures will be gathered.”
