Intervención de Eliú

Entonces estos tres hombres dejaron de responder a Job porque él era justo a sus propios ojosa. 2 Pero se encendió la ira de Eliú, hijo de Baraquel buzitaa, de la familia de Ram. Se encendió su irab contra Job porque se justificabac delante de1 Dios. 3 Su ira se encendió también contra sus tres amigos porque no habían hallado respuesta, y sin embargo habían condenado a Job. 4 Eliú había esperado para hablar a Job1 porque los otros eran de más edad que él. 5 Pero cuando vio Eliú que no había respuesta en la boca de los tres hombres, se encendió su ira. 6 Y respondió Eliú, hijo de Baraquel buzita, y dijo:Yo soy joven, y vosotros ancianosa;por eso tenía timidez y me atemorizaba declararos lo que pienso1.

7 Yo pensé1 que los días hablaríana,y los muchos años enseñarían sabiduría.8 Pero hay un espíritu en el hombre,y el soplo del Todopoderoso1a le2 da entendimientob.9 Los de muchos años1 quizá no sean sabios,ni los ancianos entiendan justiciaa.10 Por eso digo1: «Escuchadme,también yo declararé lo que pienso2».
11 He aquí, esperé vuestras palabras,escuché vuestros argumentos,mientras buscabais qué decir1;12 os presté además mucha atención.He aquí, no hubo ninguno que refutara a Job,ninguno de vosotros que respondiera a sus palabras.13 No1 digáis:«Hemos hallado sabiduríaa;Dios lo derrotará2, no el hombre».14 Pero él no ha dirigido1 sus palabras contra mí,ni yo le responderé con vuestros argumentos2.
15 Están desconcertados, ya no responden;les han faltado1 las palabras.16 ¿Y he de esperar porque ellos no hablan,porque se detienen1 y ya no responden?17 Yo también responderé mi parte,yo también declararé lo que pienso1.18 Porque estoy lleno de palabras;dentro de mí el espíritu me constriñe.19 He aquí, mi vientre es como vino sin respiradero,está a punto de reventar como odres nuevos.20 Dejadme hablar para que encuentre alivio,dejadme abrir los labios y responder.21 Que no haga yo acepción de persona1a,ni use lisonja con nadie2.22 Porque no sé lisonjear,de otra manera mi Hacedor me llevaría pronto.

Elihu Rebukes Job in Anger

Then these three men stopped answering Job, because he was arighteous in his own eyes. 2 But the anger of Elihu the son of Barachel the aBuzite, of the family of Ram, burned against Job; his anger burned bbecause he justified himself 1cbefore God. 3 And his anger burned against his three friends because they had found no answer, yet they had condemned Job. 4 Now Elihu had waited 1to speak to Job because they were years older than he. 5 But when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of the three men, his anger burned.

6 So Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite 1spoke out and said,“I am young in years and you are aold;Therefore I was shy and afraid to tell you 2what I think.

7 “I 1thought 2aage should speak,And 3increased years should teach wisdom.8 “But it is a spirit that is in mankind,And the abreath of the Almighty gives them bunderstanding.9 “The 1abundant in years may not be wise,Nor may aelders understand justice.10 “So I 1say, ‘Listen to me,I too will tell 2what I think.’
11 “Behold, I waited for your words,I listened to your skillful speech,While you 1pondered what to say.12 “I also paid close attention to you;But 1indeed, there was no one who refuted Job,Not one of you who answered his words.13 “So do not say,‘aWe have found wisdom:God will 1defeat him, not man.’14 “But he has not presented his words against me,Nor will I reply to him with your 1arguments.
15 “They are dismayed, they no longer answer;Words have 1failed them.16 “Should I wait, because they are not speaking,Because they have 1stopped and no longer answer?17 “I too will 1give my share of answers;I also will tell my opinion.18 “For I am full of words;The spirit within me compels me.19 “Behold, my belly is like unvented wine;Like new wineskins, it is about to burst.20 “Let me speak so that I may get relief;Let me open my lips and answer.21 “Let me abe partial to no one,Nor flatter any man.22 “For I do not know how to flatter,Otherwise my Maker would quickly take me away.

Elihu Rebukes Job

So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was arighteous in his own eyes and could not be persuaded otherwise by them. 2 But Elihu the son of Barachel the aBuzite, of the family of Ram, became indignant. His indignation was kindled and burned and he became upset with Job bbecause he justified himself crather than God and even expressed doubts about God’s character. 3 Elihu’s anger burned against Job’s three friends because they had found no answer and were unable to determine Job’s error, and yet they had condemned Job and declared him to be in the wrong and responsible for his own afflictions. 4 Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because the others were years older than he. 5 And when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouths of these three men, he burned with anger.

6 Then Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite said,“I am young, and you are aaged;For that reason I was anxious and dared not tell you what I think.

7 “I thought aage should speak,And a multitude of years should teach wisdom.8 “But there is a vital force and a spirit of intelligence in man,And the abreath of the Almighty gives them bunderstanding. Prov 2:69 “Those who are abundant in years may not always be wise,Nor may athe elders always understand justice.10 “Therefore I say, ‘Listen to me;I also will give you my opinion about Job’s situation and tell you plainly what I think.’
11 “You see, I waited for your words,I listened to your wise reasons,While you pondered and searched out what to say.12 “I even paid close attention to what you said,Indeed, not one of you convinced Job nor could you refute him,Not one of you supplied satisfactory answers to his words.13 “Beware if you say,‘aWe have found wisdom;God thrusts Job down justly, not man for God alone is dealing with him.’14 “Now Job has not directed his words against me therefore I have no reason to be offended,Nor will I answer him with arguments like yours. I speak for truth, not for revenge.
15 “They (Job’s friends) are dismayed and embarrassed, they no longer answer;The words have moved away and failed them,” says Elihu.16 “And shall I wait, because they say nothing,But stand still and say no more?17 “I too will give my share of answers;I too will express my opinion and share my knowledge.18 “For I am full of words;The spirit within me constrains me.19 “My belly is like unvented wine;Like new wineskins it is about to burst.20 “I must speak so that I may get relief;I will open my lips and answer.21 “I will not I warn you abe partial to any man that is, let my respect for you mitigate what I say;Nor flatter any man.22 “For I do not know how to flatter, in an appropriate way, and I fear that,My Maker would soon take me away.
