Y aconteció que cuando los hombres comenzaron a multiplicarse sobre la faz de la tierra, y les nacieron hijas, 2 los hijos de Dios vieron que las hijas de los hombres eran hermosas¹, y tomaron para sí mujeres de entre todas las que les gustaban. 3 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo: No contenderá mi Espíritu para siempre con el¹ hombre^a, porque ciertamente^2b él es carne. Serán, pues, sus días ciento veinte años. 4 Y había gigantes^1a en la tierra en aquellos días, y también después, cuando los hijos de Dios se unieron a las hijas de los hombres y ellas les dieron a luz hijos. Estos son los héroes² de la antigüedad, hombres de renombre.

5 Y el SEÑOR vio que era mucha la maldad de los hombres en la tierra, y que toda intención¹ de los pensamientos de su corazón erasolo hacer siempre el mal^2a. 6 Y le pesó al SEÑOR haber hecho al hombre en la tierra^a, y sintió tristeza^b en¹ su corazón. 7 Y el SEÑOR dijo: Borraré de la faz de la tierra al hombre^a que he creado, desde el hombre hasta el ganado, los reptiles y las aves del cielo, porque me pesa haberlos hecho^b. 8 Mas Noé^a halló gracia ante los ojos del SEÑOR^b.

9 Estas son las generaciones de Noé. Noé era un hombre justo^a, perfecto^1b entre sus contemporáneos²; Noé andaba con Dios^c. 10 Y Noé engendró tres hijos: Sem, Cam y Jafet. 11 Y la tierra se había corrompido delante de Dios^a, y estaba la tierra llena de violencia^b. 12 Y miró Dios a la tierra, y he aquí que estaba corrompida, porque toda carne había corrompido^a su camino sobre la tierra.

13 Entonces Dios dijo a Noé: He decidido poner fin a toda carne¹, porque la tierra está llena de violencia por causa de ellos; y he aquí, voy a destruirlos juntamente con la tierra^a. 14 Hazte un arca de madera de ciprés¹; harás el arca con compartimientos, y la calafatearás por dentro y por fuera con brea. 15 Y de esta manera la harás: de trescientos codos¹ la longitud del arca, de cincuenta codos² su anchura y de treinta codos³ su altura. 16 Harás una ventana¹ en el arca y la terminarás a un codo del techo², y pondrás la puerta del arca en su costado; la harás con piso bajo, segundo y tercero. 17 Y he aquí, yo traeré un diluvio^1a sobre la tierra, para destruir toda carne en que hay aliento de vida debajo del cielo; todo lo que hay en la tierra perecerá. 18 Pero estableceré mi pacto contigo^a; y entrarás en el arca tú, y contigo tus hijos, tu mujer y las mujeres de tus hijos^b. 19 Y de todo ser viviente, de toda carne, meterás dos de cada especie en el arca, para preservarles la vida contigo; macho y hembra serán^a. 20 De las aves según su especie, de los animales según su especie y de todo reptil de la tierra según su especie, dos de cada especie vendrán a ti para que les preserves la vida^a. 21 Y tú, toma para ti de todo alimento que se come, y guárdatelo, y será alimento para ti y para ellos^a. 22 Y así lo hizo Noé; conforme a todo lo que Dios le había mandado^a, así hizo.

Now it came about, when mankind began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were ¹beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, “^aMy Spirit will not ¹remain with man forever, ^2bbecause he is also flesh; ³nevertheless his days shall be 120 years.” 4 The ^1aNephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of mankind, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of mankind was great on the earth, and that ^aevery intent of the thoughts of ¹their hearts was only evil continually. 6 So ^athe LORD was sorry that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was ^bgrieved ¹in His heart. 7 Then the LORD said, “^aI will wipe out mankind whom I have created from the face of the land; mankind, and animals as well, and crawling things, and the birds of the sky. For ^bI am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But ^aNoah ^bfound favor in the eyes of the LORD.

9 These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a ^arighteous man, ^1bblameless in his generation. Noah ^cwalked with God. 10 And Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 Now the earth was ^acorrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was ^bfilled with violence. 12 And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for ^1ahumanity had corrupted its way upon the earth.

13 Then God said to Noah, “^aThe end of ¹humanity has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of ²people; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark of ¹gopher wood; you shall make the ark with compartments, and ²cover it inside and out with pitch. 15 This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark shall be ¹three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. 16 You shall make a ¹window for the ark, and finish it to a ²cubit from ³the top; and put the door of the ark on the side; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks. 17 Now behold, ^aI Myself am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which there is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. 18 But I will establish ^aMy covenant with you; and ^byou shall enter the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19 ^aAnd of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20 ^aOf the birds according to their kind, and of the animals according to their kind, of every crawling thing of the ground according to its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. 21 As for you, take for yourself some of every ^afood that is edible, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and them.” 22 ^aSo Noah did these things; according to everything that God had commanded him, so he did.

Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that ^aevery intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 ^aThe LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was ^bgrieved ¹in His heart. 7 The LORD said, “^aI will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the ¹sky; for ^bI am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But ^aNoah ^bfound favor in the eyes of the LORD.

9 These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a ^arighteous man, ^1bblameless in his ²time; Noah ^cwalked with God. 10 Noah ¹became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 Now the earth was ^acorrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was ^bfilled with violence. 12 God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for ^aall flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.

13 Then God said to Noah, “^aThe end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with rooms, and shall ¹cover it inside and out with pitch. 15 This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark three hundred ¹cubits, its breadth fifty ²cubits, and its height thirty ³cubits. 16 You shall make a ¹window for the ark, and finish it to a cubit from ²the top; and set the door of the ark in the side of it; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks. 17 Behold, ^aI, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. 18 But I will establish ^aMy covenant with you; and ^byou shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19 ^aAnd of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20 ^aOf the birds after their kind, and of the animals after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. 21 As for you, take for yourself some of all ^afood which is edible, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be for food for you and for them.” 22 ^aThus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did.

Now it happened, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the ¹sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and desirable; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose and desired. 3 Then the LORD said, “^aMy Spirit shall not strive and remain with man forever, ^bbecause he is indeed flesh sinful, corrupt—given over to sensual appetites; nevertheless his days shall yet be ¹a hundred and twenty years.” 4 There were ^aNephilim (men of stature, notorious men) on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God lived with the daughters of men, and they gave birth to their children. These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (great reputation, fame) . Num 13:33

5 The LORD saw that the wickedness (depravity) of man was great on the earth, and that ^aevery imagination or intent of the thoughts of his heart were only evil continually. 6 ^aThe LORD ¹regretted that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was deeply ^bgrieved in His heart. 7 So the LORD said, “^aI will destroy (annihilate) mankind whom I have created from the surface of the earth—not only man, but the animals and the crawling things and the birds of the air—because ^bit deeply grieves Me to see mankind’s sin and I regret that I have made them.” 8 But ^aNoah ^bfound favor and grace in the eyes of the LORD.

9 These are the records of the generations (family history) of Noah. Noah was a ^arighteous man one who was just and had right standing with God, ^bblameless in his evil generation; Noah ^cwalked (lived) in habitual fellowship with God. 10 Now Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 The population of the earth was ^acorrupt absolutely depraved—spiritually and morally putrid in God’s sight, and the land was ^bfilled with violence desecration, infringement, outrage, assault, and lust for power. 12 God looked on the earth and saw how debased and degenerate it was, for ^aall humanity had corrupted their way on the earth and lost their true direction.

13 God said to Noah, “^aI intend to make an end of all that lives, for through men the land is filled with violence; and behold, I am about to ¹destroy them together with the land. 14 Make yourself an ¹ark of ²gopher wood; make in it rooms (stalls, pens, coops, nests, cages, compartments) and ³coat it inside and out with pitch (bitumen) . 15 This is the way you are to make it: the length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits (450’ x 75’ x 45’) . 16 You shall make a ¹window for light and ventilation for the ark, and finish it to at least a cubit (eighteen inches) from the top—and set the entry door of the ark in its side; and you shall make it with lower, second and third decks. 17 For behold, ^aI, even I, will bring a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy all life under the heavens in which there is the breath and spirit of life; everything that is on the land shall die. 18 But I will establish ^aMy covenant (solemn promise, formal agreement) with you; and ^byou shall come into the ark—you and your three sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19 ^aAnd of every living thing found on land, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20 ^aOf fowls and birds according to their kind, of animals according to their kind, of every crawling thing of the ground according to its kind—two of every kind shall come to you to keep them alive. 21 Also take with you every kind of ^afood that is edible, and you shall collect and store it; and it shall be food for you and for them.” 22 ^aSo Noah did this; according to all that God commanded him, that is what he did.
