Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Ve a Faraón y dile: «Así dice el SEÑOR, el Dios de los hebreos: “Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva^a. 2 Porque si te niegas a dejarlos ir^a y los sigues deteniendo¹, 3 he aquí, la mano del SEÑOR vendrá¹ con gravísima pestilencia^a sobre tus ganados que están en el campo: sobre los caballos, sobre los asnos, sobre los camellos, sobre las vacadas y sobre las ovejas. 4 Pero el SEÑOR hará distinción entre los ganados de Israel y los ganados de Egipto^a, y nada perecerá de todo lo que pertenece a los hijos de Israel^b”». 5 Y el SEÑOR fijó un plazo definido, diciendo: Mañana el SEÑOR hará esto en la tierra. 6 Y el SEÑOR hizo esto al día siguiente, y perecieron todos los ganados de Egipto^a; pero de los ganados de los hijos de Israel, ni un solo animal murió^b. 7 Y Faraón envió a ver, y he aquí, ni un solo animal de los ganados de Israel había perecido. Pero el corazón de Faraón se endureció¹ y no dejó ir al pueblo^a.

8 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés y a Aarón: Tomad puñados de hollín de un horno, y que Moisés lo esparza hacia el cielo en presencia de Faraón; 9 y se convertirá en polvo fino sobre toda la tierra de Egipto, y producirá¹ furúnculos que resultarán en² úlceras en los hombres y en los animales, por toda la tierra de Egipto^a. 10 Tomaron, pues, hollín de un horno, y se presentaron¹ delante de Faraón, y Moisés lo arrojó hacia el cielo, y produjo² furúnculos que resultaron en³ úlceras en los hombres y en los animales. 11 Y los magos¹ no podían estar delante de Moisés a causa de los furúnculos, pues los furúnculos estaban tanto en los magos² como en todos los egipcios^a. 12 Y el SEÑOR endureció¹ el corazón de Faraón y no los escuchó, tal como el SEÑOR había dicho a Moisés^a.

13 Entonces dijo el SEÑOR a Moisés: Levántate muy de mañana, y ponte delante de Faraón, y dile: «Así dice el SEÑOR, el Dios de los hebreos: “Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva^a. 14 Porque esta vez enviaré todas mis plagas sobre ti¹, sobre tus siervos y sobre tu pueblo, para que sepas que no hay otro como yo en toda la tierra^a. 15 Porque si yo hubiera extendido mi mano y te hubiera herido a ti y a tu pueblo con pestilencia, ya habrías sido cortado de la tierra. 16 Pero en verdad, por esta razón te he permitido permanecer¹: para mostrarte mi poder^a y para proclamar mi nombre por toda la tierra. 17 Y todavía te enalteces contra mi pueblo no dejándolos¹ ir. 18 He aquí, mañana como a esta hora, enviaré¹ granizo muy pesado, tal como no ha habido en Egipto desde el día en que fue fundado hasta² ahora^a. 19 Ahora pues, manda poner a salvo tus ganados^a y todo lo que tienes en el campo, porque todo hombre o¹ todo animal que se encuentre en el campo, y no sea traído a la casa, morirá cuando caiga sobre ellos el granizo^b”». 20 El que de entre los siervos de Faraón tuvo temor de¹ la palabra del SEÑOR^a, hizo poner a salvo a sus siervos y sus ganados en sus² casas, 21 pero el que no hizo caso a¹ la palabra del SEÑOR, dejó² a sus siervos y sus ganados en el campo.

22 Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo para que caiga¹ granizo^a en toda la tierra de Egipto, sobre los hombres, sobre los animales y sobre toda planta del campo por toda la tierra de Egipto. 23 Y extendió Moisés su vara hacia el cielo, y el SEÑOR envió¹ truenos² y granizo, y cayó fuego sobre la tierra. Y el SEÑOR hizo llover granizo^a sobre la tierra de Egipto. 24 Y hubo granizo muy intenso, y fuego centelleando continuamente¹ en medio del granizo, muy pesado, tal como no había habido en toda la tierra de Egipto desde que llegó a ser una nación. 25 Y el granizo hirió todo lo que había en el campo por toda la tierra de Egipto, tanto hombres como animales; el granizo hirió también toda planta del campo, y destrozó todos los árboles del campo^a. 26 solo en la tierra de Gosén, donde estaban los hijos de Israel, no hubo granizo^a.

27 Entonces Faraón envió llamar a Moisés y Aarón y les dijo^a: Esta vez he pecado; el SEÑOR es el justo^b, y yo y mi pueblo somos los impíos. 28 Rogad al SEÑOR^a, porque ha habido ya suficientes truenos y granizo de parte de Dios; y os dejaré ir y no os quedaréis^b más aquí. 29 Y Moisés le dijo: Tan pronto como yo salga de la ciudad, extenderé mis manos^1a al SEÑOR; los truenos cesarán, y no habrá más granizo, para que sepas que la tierra es del SEÑOR^b. 30 En cuanto a ti y a tus siervos, sé que aún no teméis¹ al² SEÑOR Dios^a. 31 (Y el lino y la cebada fueron destruidos¹, pues la cebada estaba en espiga^a y el lino estaba en flor; 32 pero el trigo y el centeno no fueron destruidos¹, por ser tardíos.) 33 Y salió Moisés de la ciudad, de la presencia de Faraón, y extendió sus manos¹ al SEÑOR, y los truenos y el granizo cesaron^a, y no cayó más² lluvia sobre la tierra. 34 Pero cuando Faraón vio que la lluvia, el granizo y los truenos habían cesado, pecó otra vez, y endureció¹ su corazón, tanto él como² sus siervos. 35 Y se endureció¹ el corazón de Faraón y no dejó ir a los hijos de Israel, tal como el SEÑOR había dicho por medio² de Moisés^a.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and speak to him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews says: “^aLet My people go, so that they may serve Me. 2 For ^aif you refuse to let them go and ¹continue to hold them, 3 behold, ^athe hand of the LORD ¹will come with a very severe plague on your livestock which are in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the herds, and on the flocks. 4 ^aBut the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that ^bnothing will die of all that belongs to the sons of Israel.”’” 5 And the LORD set a definite time, saying, “Tomorrow the LORD will do this thing in the land.” 6 So the LORD did this thing on the next day, and ^aall the livestock of Egypt died; ^bbut not one of the livestock of the sons of Israel died. 7 And Pharaoh sent men, and they learned that, behold, not even one of the livestock of Israel was dead. But ^athe heart of Pharaoh was ¹hardened, and he did not let the people go.

8 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take for yourselves handfuls of soot from a kiln, and Moses shall toss it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh. 9 Then it will become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and will turn into ^aboils breaking out with sores on every person and animal through all the land of Egypt.” 10 So they took soot from a kiln, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses tossed it toward the sky, and it became boils breaking out with sores on every person and animal. 11 ^aThe soothsayer priests could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were on the soothsayer priests as well as on all the Egyptians. 12 But ^athe LORD ¹hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not listen to them, just as the LORD had spoken to Moses.

13 Then the LORD said to Moses, “^aRise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews says: “^bLet My people go, so that they may serve Me. 14 For this time I am going to send all My plagues ¹on you and your servants and your people, so that ^ayou may know that there is no one like Me in all the earth. 15 For had I now put out My hand and struck you and your people with plague, you would then have been eliminated from the earth. 16 But indeed, ^afor this reason I have allowed you to ¹remain, in order to show you My power and in order to proclaim My name throughout the earth. 17 Still you exalt yourself against My people ¹by not letting them go.

18 Behold, about this time tomorrow, ^aI will ¹send a very heavy hail, such as has not been seen in Egypt from the day it was founded ²until now. 19 So now, send word, bring ^ayour livestock and whatever you have in the field to safety. ^bEvery person and animal that is found in the field and is not brought home, when the hail comes down on them, will die.”’” 20 ^aEveryone among the servants of Pharaoh who ¹feared the word of the LORD hurried to bring his servants and his livestock into the houses; 21 but everyone who ¹did not pay regard to the word of the LORD ²left his servants and his livestock in the field.

22 Now the LORD said to Moses, “Reach out with your hand toward the sky, so that ^1ahail may fall on all the land of Egypt, on every person and animal, and on every plant of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.” 23 So Moses reached out with his staff toward the sky, and the LORD ¹sent ²thunder and ^ahail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt. 24 So there was hail, and fire flashing intermittently in the midst of the hail, which was very heavy, such as had not occurred in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 ^aThe hail struck everything that was in the field through all the land of Egypt, from people to animals; the hail also struck every plant of the field, and shattered every tree of the field. 26 ^aOnly in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel were, was there no hail.

27 Then Pharaoh ^1asent for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “^bI have sinned this time; the LORD is the righteous one, and I and my people are the wicked ones. 28 ^aPlead with the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s ¹thunder and hail; and ^bI will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.” 29 Moses said to him, “As soon as I go out of the city, I will ^aspread out my ¹hands to the LORD; the ²thunder will cease and there will no longer be hail, so that you may know that ^bthe earth is the LORD’S. 30 ^aBut as for you and your servants, I know that ^byou do not yet ¹fear ²the LORD God.” 31 (Now the flax and the ^abarley were ¹ruined, for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud. 32 But the wheat and the spelt were not ¹ruined, for they ripen late.) 33 ^aSo Moses left the city from his meeting with Pharaoh, and spread out his ¹hands to the LORD; and the ²thunder and the hail stopped, and rain ³no longer poured on the earth. 34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the ¹thunder had stopped, he sinned again and ²hardened his heart, he and his servants. 35 So Pharaoh’s heart was ¹hardened, and he did not let the sons of Israel go, just as the ^aLORD had spoken through Moses.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews: “^aLet My people go, so that they may serve Me. 2 ^aBut if you refuse to let them go and continue to hold them, 3 now hear this: ^athe hand of the LORD will fall on your livestock which are out in the field, on the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds, and the flocks—a horrible plague shall come. 4 ^aBut the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that ^bnothing that belongs to the Israelites will die.”’” 5 The LORD set a definite time, saying, “Tomorrow the LORD will do this thing in the land.” 6 And the LORD did this thing the next day, and ^aall kinds of the livestock of Egypt died; but ^bof the livestock of the Israelites, not one died. 7 Then Pharaoh sent men to investigate, and not even one of the livestock of the Israelites had died. But ^athe heart of Pharaoh was hardened and his mind was firmly set, and he did not let the people go.

8 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from the brick kiln, and let Moses throw it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh. 9 It will become fine dust over the entire land of Egypt, and it will become ^aboils breaking out in sores on man and animal in all the land occupied by the Egyptians.” 10 So they took soot from the kiln, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses threw it toward the sky, and it became boils erupting in sores on man and animal. 11 ^aThe magicians (soothsayer-priests) could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were on the magicians as well as on all the Egyptians. 12 But ^athe LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen or pay attention to them, just as the LORD had told Moses.

13 Then the LORD said to Moses, “^aGet up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “^bLet My people go, so that they may serve Me. 14 For this time I will send all My plagues ¹on you in full force, and on your servants and on your people, so that ^ayou may know without any doubt and acknowledge that there is no one like Me in all the earth. 15 For by now I could have put out My hand and struck you and your people with a pestilence, and you would then have been cut off (obliterated) from the earth. 16 But indeed ^afor this very reason I have allowed you to live, in order to show you My power and in order that My name may be proclaimed throughout all the earth. Rom 9:17-24

17 Since you are still arrogantly exalting yourself in defiance against My people by not letting them go, 18 hear this: tomorrow about this time ^aI will send a very heavy and dreadful hail, such as has not been seen in Egypt from the day it was founded until now. 19 Now therefore send a message, bring ^ayour livestock and whatever you have in the field to safety. ^bEvery man and animal that is in the field and is not brought home shall be struck by the hail and shall die.”’” 20 Then ^aeveryone among the servants of Pharaoh who feared the word of the LORD made his servants and his livestock flee into the houses and shelters; 21 but everyone who ¹ignored and did not take seriously the word of the LORD left his servants and his livestock in the field.

22 Now the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand with your staff toward the sky, so that there may be ^ahail in all the land of Egypt, on man and on animal and on all the vegetation of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.” 23 Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, and the LORD sent thunder and ^ahail, and lightning (fireballs) ran down to the earth and along the ground. And the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt. 24 So there was hail, and lightning (fireballs) flashing intermittently in the midst of the extremely heavy hail, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 ^aThe hail struck down everything that was in the field throughout all the land of Egypt, both man and animal; the hail struck and beat down all the plants in the field and shattered every tree in the field. 26 ^aOnly in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel lived, was there no hail.

27 Then Pharaoh ^asent for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “^bI have sinned this time; the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. 28 ^aPray and entreat the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s ¹thunder and hail; ^bI will let you go, and you shall stay here no longer.” 29 Moses said to him, “As soon as I leave the city, I will ^astretch out my hands to the LORD; the thunder will cease and there will be no more hail, so that you may know without any doubt and acknowledge that ^bthe earth is the LORD’S. 30 ^aBut as for you and your servants, I know that ^byou do not yet fear the LORD God.” 31 (Now the flax and the ^abarley were battered and ruined by the hail, because the barley was in the ear (ripe, but soft) and the flax was in bud, 32 but the wheat and spelt (coarse wheat) were not battered and ruined, because they ripen late in the season.) 33 ^aSo Moses left the city and Pharaoh, and stretched out his hands to the LORD; then the ¹thunder and hail ceased, and rain no longer poured on the earth. 34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned again and hardened his heart, both he and his servants. 35 Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not let the Israelites go, just as the ^aLORD had said through Moses.
