Y Moisés apacentaba el rebaño de Jetro su suegro, sacerdote de Madián^a; y condujo el rebaño hacia el lado occidental¹ del desierto, y llegó a Horeb^b, el monte de Dios^c. 2 Y se le apareció el ángel del SEÑOR^a en una llama de fuego, en medio de una¹ zarza^b; y Moisés miró, y he aquí, la zarza ardía en fuego, y la zarza no se consumía. 3 Entonces dijo Moisés: Me acercaré¹ ahora para ver esta maravilla²: por qué la zarza no se quema^a. 4 Cuando el SEÑOR vio que él se acercaba¹ para mirar, Dios lo llamó de en medio de la zarza^a, y dijo: ¡Moisés, Moisés! Y él respondió: Heme aquí. 5 Entonces Él dijo: No te acerques aquí; quítate las sandalias de los pies, porque el lugar donde estás parado es tierra santa^a. 6 Y añadió: Yo soy el Dios de tu padre, el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob^a. Entonces Moisés cubrió su rostro, porque tenía temor de mirar a Dios^b.

7 Y el SEÑOR dijo: Ciertamente he visto la aflicción de mi pueblo que está en Egipto, y he escuchado su clamor a causa de sus capataces¹, pues estoy consciente de sus sufrimientos^a. 8 Y he descendido para librarlos de mano de los egipcios^a, y para sacarlos¹ de aquella tierra a una tierra buena y espaciosa, a una tierra que mana leche y miel^b, al lugar de los cananeos, de los hititas, de los amorreos, de los ferezeos, de los heveos y de los jebuseos^c. 9 Y ahora, he aquí, el clamor de los hijos de Israel ha llegado hasta mí^a, y además he visto la opresión con que los egipcios los oprimen. 10 Ahora pues, ven y te enviaré a Faraón, para que saques a mi pueblo, los hijos de Israel, de Egipto^a. 11 Pero Moisés dijo a Dios: ¿Quién soy yo^a para ir a Faraón, y sacar a los hijos de Israel de Egipto? 12 Y Él dijo: Ciertamente yo estaré contigo^a, y la señal para ti de que soy yo el que te ha enviado seráesta: cuando hayas sacado al pueblo de Egipto^b adoraréis¹ a Dios en este monte^c.

13 Entonces dijo Moisés a Dios: He aquí, si voy a los hijos de Israel, y les digo: «El Dios de vuestros padres me ha enviado a vosotros», tal vez me digan: «¿Cuál es su nombre?», ¿qué les responderé? 14 Y dijo Dios a Moisés: YO SOY¹ EL QUE SOY^2a. Y añadió: Así dirás a los hijos de Israel: «YO SOY³ me ha enviado a vosotros». 15 Dijo además Dios a Moisés: Así dirás a los hijos de Israel: «El SEÑOR, el Dios de vuestros padres, el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob, me ha enviado a vosotros^a». Este es mi nombre para siempre, y con él se hará memoria de mí¹ de generación en generación^b.

16 Ve y reúne a los ancianos de Israel^a, y diles: «El SEÑOR, el Dios de vuestros padres, el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob, se me ha aparecido^b, diciendo: “Ciertamente os he visitado y he visto lo que se os ha hecho en Egipto^c. 17 Y he dicho: Os sacaré de la aflicción de Egipto a la tierra del cananeo, del hitita, del amorreo, del ferezeo, del heveo y del jebuseo^a, a una tierra que mana leche y miel^b”». 18 Y ellos escucharán tu voz^a; y tú irás con los ancianos de Israel al rey de Egipto^b, y le diréis: «El SEÑOR, el Dios de los hebreos, nos ha salido al encuentro. Ahora pues, permite que vayamos tres días de camino al desierto para ofrecer sacrificios al SEÑOR nuestro Dios^c». 19 Pero yo sé que el rey de Egipto no os dejará ir^a, si no es por la fuerza^1b. 20 Pero yo extenderé mi mano y heriré a Egipto^a con todos los prodigios que haré en medio de él^b, y después de esto, os dejará ir^c. 21 Y daré a este pueblo gracia ante los ojos de los egipcios; y sucederá que cuando os vayáis, no os iréis con las manos vacías^a, 22 sino que cada mujer pedirá a su vecina y a la que vive en su casa objetos de plata, objetos de oro y vestidos^a; y los pondréis sobre vuestros hijos y sobre vuestras hijas. Así despojaréis a los egipcios^b.

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father-in-law ^aJethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the ¹west side of the wilderness and came to ^bHoreb, the ^cmountain of God. 2 Then ^athe angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of ¹a ^bbush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not being consumed. 3 So Moses said, “^aI must turn aside and see this ¹marvelous sight, why the bush is not burning up!” 4 When the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, ^aGod called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then He said, “Do not come near here; ^aremove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” 6 And He said, “^aI am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” ^bThen Moses hid his face, for he was ^cafraid to look at God.

7 And the LORD said, “I have certainly ^aseen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their outcry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings. 8 So I have come down ^ato rescue them from the ¹power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a ^bgood and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of ^cthe Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 9 And now, behold, ^athe cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

10 And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, ^aso that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “^aWho am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 And He said, “Assuredly ^aI will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: ^bwhen you have brought the people out of Egypt, ^cyou shall ¹worship God at this mountain.”

13 Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” 14 And God said to Moses, “^1aI AM WHO ²I AM”; and He said, “This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel: ‘³I AM has sent me to you.’” 15 God furthermore said to Moses, “This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel: ‘^aThe LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is the ^1bname for ²all generations to use to call upon Me. 16 Go and ^agather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘^bThe LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has appeared to me, saying, “^1cI am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt. 17 So ^aI said, I will bring you up out of the oppression of Egypt to the land of ^bthe Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, to a land ^cflowing with milk and honey.”’ 18 Then ^athey will ¹pay attention to what you say; and ^byou with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, please let us go a ^cthree days’ journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.’ 19 But I know that the king of Egypt ^awill not permit you to go, ^bexcept ¹under compulsion. 20 So I will reach out with ^aMy hand and strike Egypt with all My ^bmiracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and ^cafter that he will let you go. 21 I will grant this people ^afavor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed. 22 But every woman ^ashall ask her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house for articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you will put them on your sons and daughters. So you will ^bplunder the Egyptians.”

7 The LORD said, “I have surely ^aseen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings. 8 So I have come down ^ato deliver them from the ¹power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a ^bgood and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of ^cthe Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite. 9 Now, behold, ^athe cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

10 Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, ^aso that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “^aWho am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 And He said, “Certainly ^aI will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: ^bwhen you have brought the people out of Egypt, ^cyou shall ¹worship God at this mountain.”

13 Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “^1aI AM WHO ²I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘³I AM has sent me to you.’” 15 God, furthermore, said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘^aThe LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is My ^bmemorial-name ¹to all generations. 16 Go and ^agather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘^bThe LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “^1cI am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt. 17 So ^aI said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of ^bthe Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, to a land ^cflowing with milk and honey.”’ 18 ^aThey will ¹pay heed to what you say; and ^byou with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt and you will say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now Moses was keeping the flock of ^aJethro (Reuel) his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to ^bHoreb (Sinai) , the ^cmountain of God. 2 ^aThe ¹Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing flame of fire from the midst of a ^bbush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was on fire, yet it was not consumed. 3 So Moses said, “^aI must turn away from the flock and see this great sight—why the bush is not burned up.” 4 When the LORD saw that he turned away from the flock to look, ^aGod called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then God said, “Do not come near; ^atake your sandals off your feet out of respect, because the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” 6 Then He said, “^aI am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” ^bThen Moses hid his face, because he was ^cafraid to look at God.

7 The LORD said, “I have in fact ^aseen the affliction (suffering, desolation) of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters (oppressors) ; for I know their pain and suffering. 8 So I have come down ^ato rescue them from the hand (power) of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a ^bland that is good and spacious, to a land ¹flowing with milk and honey a land of plenty—to the place of ^cthe Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 9 Now, behold, ^athe cry of the children of Israel has come to Me; and I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them.

10 Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, and then ^abring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “^aWho am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 And God said, “Certainly ^aI will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: ^bwhen you have brought the people out of Egypt, ^cyou shall serve and worship God at this mountain.”

13 Then Moses said to God, “Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers (ancestors) has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “^1aI AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “You shall say this to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” 15 Then God also said to Moses, “This is what you shall say to the Israelites, ‘^aThe LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob (Israel) , has sent me to you.’ This is My ¹Name forever, and this is My ^bmemorial name to all generations. 16 Go, ^agather the elders (tribal leaders) of Israel together, and say to them, ‘^bThe LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, “^cI am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt. 17 So I said ^aI will bring you up out of the suffering and oppression of Egypt to the land of ^bthe Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, to a land ^1cflowing with milk and honey.”’ 18 ^aThe elders of the tribes will listen and pay attention to what you say; and ^byou, with the elders of Israel, shall go to the king of Egypt and you shall say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us; so now, please, we ask and plead with you, let us go on a ^cthree days’ journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.’ 19 But I know that the king of Egypt ^awill not let you go ^bunless he is forced by a strong hand. 20 So I will reach out ^aMy hand and strike Egypt with all My ^bwonders which I shall do in the midst of it; and ^cafter that he will let you go. 21 And I will grant this people ^afavor and respect in the sight of the Egyptians; therefore, it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed. 22 But every woman ^ashall insistently ask her neighbor and any woman who ¹lives in her house, for articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and daughters. In this way you are to ^bplunder the Egyptians leaving bondage with great possessions that are rightfully yours.” Gen 15:14
