Y Moisés y los ancianos de Israel dieron¹ orden al pueblo, diciendo: Guardad todos los mandamientos que yo os ordeno hoy. 2 ^aY sucederá que el día que paséis el Jordán a la tierra que el SEÑOR tu Dios te da, levantarás para ti piedras grandes, y las blanquearás con cal, 3 y escribirás en ellas todas las palabras de esta ley, cuando hayas pasado, para entrar en la tierra que el SEÑOR tu Dios te da, una tierra que mana leche y miel^a, tal como el SEÑOR, el Dios de tus padres, te prometió¹. 4 Y sucederá que cuando pases el Jordán, levantarás estas piedras en el monte Ebal^a, como¹ yo te ordeno hoy, y las blanquearás con cal. 5 Además, edificarás allí un altar al SEÑOR tu Dios, un altar de piedras; y no alzarás sobre ellas herramientas de hierro^a. 6 Construirás el altar del SEÑOR tu Dios de piedras enteras; y sobre él ofrecerás holocaustos al SEÑOR tu Dios; 7 y sacrificarás ofrendas de paz y comerás allí, y te alegrarás delante del SEÑOR tu Dios^a. 8 Escribirás claramente en las piedras¹ todas las palabras de esta ley.

9 Entonces Moisés y los sacerdotes levitas hablaron a todo Israel, diciendo: Guarda silencio y escucha, oh Israel. Hoy te has convertido en pueblo del SEÑOR tu Dios. 10 Por tanto, obedecerás al¹ SEÑOR tu Dios, y cumplirás sus mandamientos y sus estatutos que te ordeno hoy.

11 También Moisés ordenó al pueblo en aquel día, diciendo: 12 Cuando pases el Jordán,estos estarán sobre el monte Gerizim^a para bendecir al pueblo: Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar, José y Benjamín. 13 Y para la maldición,estos estarán en el monte Ebal: Rubén, Gad, Aser, Zabulón, Dan y Neftalí. 14 Entonces los levitas responderán y dirán en alta voz a todos los hombres de Israel:

15 «Maldito el hombre que haga ídolo¹ o imagen de fundición^a, abominación al SEÑOR, obra de las manos del artífice, y la erige en secreto». Y todo el pueblo responderá, y dirá: «Amén^b».

16 «Maldito el que desprecie a su padre o a su madre^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

17 «Maldito el que cambie¹ el lindero de su vecino^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

18 «Maldito el que haga errar al ciego en el camino^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

19 «Maldito el que pervierta el derecho del forastero, del huérfano y de la viuda^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

20 «Maldito el que se acueste con la mujer de su padre, porque ha descubierto la vestidura de su padre^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

21 «Maldito el que se eche con cualquier animal^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

22 «Maldito el que se acueste con su hermana, la hija de su padre o de su madre^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

23 «Maldito el que se acueste con su suegra^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

24 «Maldito el que hiera a su vecino secretamente^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

25 «Maldito el que acepte soborno para quitar la vida a un inocente^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

26 «Maldito el que no confirme las palabras de esta ley, poniéndolas por obra^a». Y todo el pueblo dirá: «Amén».

Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the commandments which I am commanding you today. 2 ^aSo it shall be on the day when you cross the Jordan to the land which the LORD your God is giving you, that you shall set up for yourself large stones and coat them with lime 3 and write on them all the words of this Law, when you cross over, so that you may enter the land which the LORD your God is giving you, ^aa land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, ¹promised you. 4 So it shall be when you cross the Jordan, you shall set up these stones ^aon Mount Ebal, ¹as I am commanding you today, and you shall coat them with lime. 5 Moreover, you shall build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones; you ^ashall not wield an iron tool on them. 6 You shall build the altar of the LORD your God of ¹uncut stones, and you shall offer on it burnt offerings to the LORD your God; 7 and you shall sacrifice peace offerings and eat there, and ^arejoice before the LORD your God. 8 You shall write on the ¹stones all the words of this Law very clearly.”

9 Then Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel, saying, “Be silent and listen, Israel! This day you have become a people for the LORD your God. 10 So you shall ¹obey the LORD your God, and do His commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today.”

11 Moses also commanded the people on that day, saying, 12 “When you cross the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on ^aMount Gerizim to bless the people: ^bSimeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin. 13 For the curse, these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali. 14 The Levites shall then respond and say to all the people of Israel with a loud voice,

15 ‘Cursed is the person who makes ^aa carved image or cast metal image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of a craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ And ^ball the people shall reply and say, ‘Amen.’

16 ‘^aCursed is one who treats his father or mother contemptuously.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

17 ‘^aCursed is one who displaces his neighbor’s boundary marker.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

18 ‘^aCursed is one who misleads a person who is blind on the road.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

19 ‘^aCursed is one who distorts the justice due a stranger, an ¹orphan, or a widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

20 ‘^aCursed is he who sleeps with his father’s wife, because he has ¹uncovered his father’s garment.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

21 ‘^aCursed is one who has sexual intercourse with any animal.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

22 ‘^aCursed is he who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or of his mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

23 ‘^aCursed is he who sleeps with his mother-in-law.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

24 ‘^aCursed is he who attacks his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

25 ‘^aCursed is he who accepts a bribe to attack an innocent person.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

26 ‘^aCursed is anyone who does not fulfill the words of this Law by doing them.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Then Moses and the elders of Israel charged the people, saying, “Keep all the commandments which I command you today. 2 ^aSo it shall be on the day when you cross the Jordan to the land which the LORD your God gives you, that you shall set up for yourself large stones and coat them with lime 3 and write on them all the words of this law, when you cross over, so that you may enter the land which the LORD your God gives you, ^aa land flowing with milk and honey, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, ¹promised you. 4 So it shall be when you cross the Jordan, you shall set up ^aon Mount Ebal, these stones, ¹as I am commanding you today, and you shall coat them with lime. 5 Moreover, you shall build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones; you ^ashall not ¹wield an iron tool on them. 6 You shall build the altar of the LORD your God of ¹uncut stones, and you shall offer on it burnt offerings to the LORD your God; 7 and you shall sacrifice peace offerings and eat there, and ^arejoice before the LORD your God. 8 You shall write on the ¹stones all the words of this law very distinctly.”

9 Then Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel, saying, “Be silent and listen, O Israel! This day you have become a people for the LORD your God. 10 You shall therefore ¹obey the LORD your God, and do His commandments and His statutes which I command you today.”

11 Moses also charged the people on that day, saying, 12 “When you cross the Jordan, these shall stand on ^aMount Gerizim to bless the people: ^bSimeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin. 13 For the curse, these shall stand on Mount Ebal: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali. 14 The Levites shall then answer and say to all the men of Israel with a loud voice,

15 ‘Cursed is the man who makes ^1aan idol or a molten image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ And ^ball the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’

16 ‘^aCursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

17 ‘^aCursed is he who moves his neighbor’s boundary mark.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

18 ‘^aCursed is he who misleads a blind person on the road.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

19 ‘^aCursed is he who distorts the justice due an alien, ¹orphan, and widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

20 ‘^aCursed is he who lies with his father’s wife, because he has uncovered his father’s skirt.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

21 ‘^aCursed is he who lies with any animal.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

22 ‘^aCursed is he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father or of his mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

23 ‘^aCursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

24 ‘^aCursed is he who strikes his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

25 ‘^aCursed is he who accepts a bribe to strike down an innocent person.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

26 ‘^aCursed is he who does not confirm the words of this law by doing them.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep (remember, obey) all the commandments which I am commanding you today. 2 ^aSo it shall be on the day when you cross the Jordan to enter the land which the LORD your God gives you, that you shall set up for yourself large stones and coat them with plaster (lime, whitewash) . 3 You shall write on the stones all the words of this law when you cross over, so that you may go into the land which the LORD your God gives you, ^aa land of plenty ¹flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers has promised you. 4 Now when you cross the Jordan you shall set up these stones ^aon Mount Ebal, just as I am commanding you today and coat them with plaster. 5 There you shall build an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones; you ^ashall not use an iron tool on them. 6 You shall build the altar of the LORD your God with whole uncut stones, and offer burnt offerings on it to the LORD your God; 7 and you shall sacrifice peace offerings and shall eat there, and shall ^arejoice before the LORD your God. 8 And you shall write very clearly on the stones all the words of this law.”

9 Then Moses and the Levitical priests said to all Israel, “Be silent and listen, O Israel! This day you have become a people for the LORD your God. 10 So you shall obey the voice of the LORD your God, and do His commandments and statutes which I am commanding you today.”

11 Moses also commanded the people that day, saying, 12 “These tribes shall stand on ^aMount Gerizim to bless the people when you have crossed the Jordan: ^bSimeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, ¹Joseph, and Benjamin. 13 These tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce the curse for disobedience: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali. 14 The Levites shall answer with a loud voice to all the men of Israel:

15 ‘Cursed is the man who makes ^aa carved or cast image (idol) , a repulsive thing to the LORD, the work of the hands of the artisan, and sets it up in secret.’ ^bAll the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’

16 ‘^aCursed is he who dishonors (treats with contempt) his father or his mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

17 ‘^aCursed is he who moves his neighbor’s boundary mark.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

18 ‘^aCursed is he who misleads a blind person on the road.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

19 ‘^aCursed is he who distorts (perverts) the justice due to a stranger, an orphan, and a widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

20 ‘^aCursed is he who is intimate with his father’s former wife, because he has ¹violated what belongs to his father.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

21 ‘^aCursed is he who is intimate with any animal.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

22 ‘^aCursed is he who is intimate with his half- sister, whether his father’s or his mother’s daughter.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

23 ‘^aCursed is he who is intimate with his mother-in-law.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

24 ‘^aCursed is he who strikes his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

25 ‘^aCursed is he who accepts a bribe to strike down an innocent person.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

26 ‘^aCursed is he who does not confirm the words of this law by doing them keeping them, taking them to heart as the rule of his life.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
