En aquel tiempo el SEÑOR me dijo: «Lábrate dos tablas de piedra como las anteriores^a, y sube a mí al monte, y hazte un arca de madera^b. 2 Y yo escribiré sobre las tablas las palabras que estaban sobre las primeras tablas que quebraste^a, y las pondrás en el arca^b». 3 Hice, pues, un arca de madera de acacia^a y labré dos tablas de piedra como las anteriores, y subí al monte con las dos tablas en mi mano^b. 4 Y Él escribió sobre las tablas, conforme a la escritura anterior, los diez mandamientos^1a que el SEÑOR os había hablado^b en el monte de en medio del fuego el día de la asamblea^c; y el SEÑOR me las dio. 5 Entonces me volví y descendí del monte^a, y puse las tablas en el arca^b que yo había hecho; y allí están tal como el SEÑOR me ordenó^c.

6 (Después los hijos de Israel partieron de Beerot-bene-jaacán¹ hacia Mosera^a. Allí murió Aarón y allí fue sepultado, y su hijo Eleazar ministró como sacerdote en su lugar^b. 7 De allí partieron hacia Gudgoda; y de Gudgoda hacia Jotbata^a, una tierra de corrientes de aguas. 8 En aquel tiempo el SEÑOR apartó la tribu de Leví^a para que llevara el arca del pacto del SEÑOR, y para que estuviera delante del SEÑOR, sirviéndole y bendiciendo en su nombre hasta el día de hoy^b. 9 Por tanto, Leví no tiene porción o herencia con sus hermanos; el SEÑOR es su herencia, así como el SEÑOR tu Dios le habló^a.)

10 Y me quedé en el monte cuarenta días y cuarenta noches como la primera vez, y el SEÑOR me escuchó también esta vez; y el SEÑOR no quiso destruirte^a. 11 Entonces me dijo el SEÑOR: «Levántate, continúa tu marcha al frente del pueblo, para que entren y tomen posesión de la tierra que yo juré a sus padres que les daría».

12 Y ahora, Israel, ¿qué requiere de ti el SEÑOR tu Dios, sino que temas¹ al SEÑOR tu Dios, que andes en todos sus caminos^a, que le ames y que sirvas al SEÑOR tu Dios^b con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma^c, 13 y que guardes los mandamientos del SEÑOR y sus estatutos que yo te ordeno hoy para tu bien? 14 He aquí, al SEÑOR tu Dios pertenecen los cielos y los cielos de los cielos^a, la tierra y todo lo que en ella hay^b. 15 Sin embargo, el SEÑOR se agradó de tus padres, los amó, y escogió a su descendencia^1a después de ellos, es decir, a vosotros, de entre todos los pueblos, como se ve hoy. 16 Circuncidad, pues, vuestro corazón^1a, y no endurezcáis más vuestra cerviz^b. 17 Porque el SEÑOR vuestro Dios es Dios de dioses^a y Señor de señores^b, Dios grande, poderoso y temible que no hace acepción de personas^c ni acepta soborno^d. 18 Él hace justicia al huérfano y a la viuda^a, y muestra su amor al extranjero¹ dándole pan y vestido. 19 Mostrad, pues, amor al extranjero, porque vosotros fuisteis extranjeros en la tierra de Egipto^a. 20 Temerás al SEÑOR tu Dios; le servirás, te allegarás¹ a Él^a ysolo en su nombre jurarás^b. 21 Él es el objeto de tu alabanza y Él es tu Dios^a, que ha hecho por ti estas cosas grandes y portentosas que tus ojos han visto. 22 Cuando tus padres descendieron a Egipto eran setenta personas^a, y ahora el SEÑOR tu Dios te ha hecho tan numeroso como las estrellas del cielo^b.

“At that time the LORD said to me, ‘^aCut out for yourself two tablets of stone like the first two, and come up to Me on the mountain, and ^bmake an ¹ark of wood for yourself. 2 Then ^aI will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you smashed to pieces, and ^byou shall put them in the ark.’ 3 So ^aI made an ark of acacia wood and ^bcut out two tablets of stone like the first two, and I went up on the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. 4 Then He wrote on the tablets, like the first writing, ^athe Ten ¹Commandments ^bwhich the LORD had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire ^con the day of the assembly; and the LORD gave them to me. 5 Then I turned and ^acame down from the mountain, and I ^bput the tablets in the ark which I had made; ^cand they are there, just as the LORD commanded me.”

6 (Now the sons of Israel set out from ¹Beeroth ^aBene-jaakan to Moserah. ^bThere Aaron died and there he was buried, and his son Eleazar served as priest in his place. 7 ^aFrom there they set out to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of streams of water. 8 ^aAt that time the LORD singled out the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD ^bto serve Him and to bless in His name, until this day. 9 ^aTherefore, Levi does not have a portion or inheritance with his brothers; the LORD is his inheritance, just as the LORD your God spoke to him.)

10 “^aI, moreover, stayed on the mountain for forty days and forty nights like the first time, and the LORD listened to me that time also; the LORD was not willing to destroy you. 11 Then the LORD said to me, ‘Arise, proceed on your journey ahead of the people, so that they may go in and take possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.’

12 “^aAnd now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to ¹fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and ^blove Him, and to serve the LORD your God with ^call your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the LORD’S commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? 14 Behold, ^ato the LORD your God belong heaven and the ¹highest heavens, ^bthe earth and all that is in it. 15 ^aYet the LORD set His affection on your fathers, to love them, and He chose their ¹descendants after them, you over all the other peoples, as it is this day. 16 ^aSo circumcise ¹your heart, and do not ^bstiffen your neck any longer. 17 ^aFor the LORD your God is the God of gods and the ^bLord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, ^cwho does not show partiality, nor ^dtake a bribe. 18 He executes justice for ^athe orphan and the widow, and shows His love for the stranger by giving him food and clothing. 19 ^aSo show your love for the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. 20 You shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve Him, and ^acling to Him, and ^byou shall swear by His name. 21 He is ^ayour glory and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen. 22 ^aYour fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons in all, ^band now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.

“At that time the LORD said to me, ‘^aCut out for yourself two tablets of stone like the former ones, and come up to Me on the mountain, and ^bmake an ark of wood for yourself. 2 ^aI will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered, and ^byou shall put them in the ark.’ 3 So ^aI made an ark of acacia wood and ^bcut out two tablets of stone like the former ones, and went up on the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. 4 He wrote on the tablets, like the former writing, ^athe Ten ¹Commandments ^bwhich the LORD had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire ^con the day of the assembly; and the LORD gave them to me. 5 Then I turned and ^acame down from the mountain and ^bput the tablets in the ark which I had made; ^cand there they are, as the LORD commanded me.”

“At that time the LORD said to me, ‘^aCut out for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to Me on the mountain, and ^bmake an ark (chest) of wood for yourself. 2 ^aI will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you shattered, and ^byou shall put them in the ark.’ 3 So ^aI made an ark of acacia wood and ^bcut out two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain ¹with the two tablets in my hand. 4 The LORD wrote on the tablets, like the first writing, ^athe Ten ¹Commandments ^bwhich the LORD had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire ^con the day of the assembly; then the LORD gave them to me. 5 Then I turned and ^acame down from the mountain and ^bput the tablets in the ark which I had made; ^cand they are there, just as the LORD commanded me.”

6 (Now the sons of Israel traveled from the wells of the sons of ^aJaakan to Moserah. ^bThere Aaron died and there he was buried and Eleazar his son ministered as priest in his place. 7 ^aFrom there they traveled to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water. 8 ^aAt that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD ^bto serve Him and to bless in His name until this day. 9 ^aTherefore, Levi does not have a portion or inheritance of tribal land with his brothers; ¹the LORD is his inheritance, as the LORD your God ²has promised him.)

10 “And ^aI stayed on the mountain, like the first time, forty days and nights, and the LORD listened to me at that time also; the LORD was not willing to destroy you. 11 Then the LORD said to me, ‘Arise, go on your journey ahead of the people, so that they may go in and take possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give to them.’

12 “^aAnd now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear and worship the LORD your God with awe-filled reverence and profound respect, to walk that is, to live each and every day in all His ways and to ^blove Him, and to serve the LORD your God with ^call your heart and with all your soul your choices, your thoughts, your whole being, 13 and to keep the commandments of the LORD and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? 14 Behold, the heavens and the highest of heavens belong ^ato the LORD your God, ^bthe earth and all that is in it. 15 ^aYet the LORD ¹had a delight in loving your fathers and set His affection on them, and He chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day. 16 ^aSo circumcise that is, remove sin from your heart, and be ^bstiff-necked (stubborn, obstinate) no longer. 17 ^aFor the LORD your ¹God is the God of gods and the ^bLord of lords, the great, the mighty, the awesome God ^cwho does not show ²partiality nor ^dtake a bribe. 18 He ¹executes justice for the ^aorphan and the widow, and ²shows His love for the stranger (resident alien, foreigner) by giving him food and clothing. 19 ^aTherefore, show your love for the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. 20 You shall fear and worship the LORD your God with awe-filled reverence and profound respect; you shall serve Him and ^acling to Him hold tightly to Him, be united with Him, and ^byou shall swear oaths by His name. 21 He is ^ayour praise and glory; He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things which you have seen with your own eyes. 22 ^aYour fathers went down to Egypt, seventy persons in all, ^band now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.
