En los¹ días de Joacim subió Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y Joacim fue su siervo por tres años; después se levantó² y se rebeló contra él^a. 2 Y el SEÑOR envió contra Joacim¹ bandas de caldeos^a, bandas de arameos^b, bandas de moabitas^c y bandas de amonitas. Y las envió contra Judá para destruirla, conforme a la palabra que el SEÑOR^d había hablado por medio² de sus siervos los profetas. 3 Ciertamente por mandato¹ del SEÑOR sucedió esto contra Judá^a para quitarlos de su presencia, por los pecados de Manasés, por todo lo que había hecho^b, 4 y también por la sangre inocente que derramó, pues llenó a Jerusalén de sangre inocente^a, y el SEÑOR no quiso perdonar. 5 Los demás hechos de Joacim y todo lo que hizo ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? 6 Y durmió Joacim con sus padres; y su hijo Joaquín reinó en su lugar^a. 7 Y el rey de Egipto no salió más de su tierra^a, porque el rey de Babilonia había tomado todo lo que pertenecía al rey de Egipto desde el torrente de Egipto hasta el río Eufrates^b.

8 ^aJoaquín tenía dieciocho años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén^b. El nombre de su madre era Nehusta, hija de Elnatán, de Jerusalén. 9 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, conforme a todo lo que había hecho su padre^a.

10 En aquel tiempo los siervos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, subieron a Jerusalén, y la ciudad fue sitiada. 11 Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, llegó a la ciudad mientras sus siervos la tenían sitiada. 12 Y Joaquín, rey de Judá, se rindió¹ al rey de Babilonia^a, él y su madre, sus capitanes, sus jefes y sus oficiales. 18 Sedequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Hamutal, hija de Jeremías, de Libna^a. 19 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, conforme a todo lo que había hecho Joacim^a. 20 Por causa de la ira del SEÑOR^a sucedió esto en Jerusalén y en Judea, hasta que los echó de su presencia. He sent them against Judah to destroy it, ^din accordance with the word of the LORD which He had spoken through His servants the prophets. 3 ^aIt indeed came upon Judah at the ¹command of the LORD, to remove them from His sight ^bdue to the sins of Manasseh, in accordance with everything that he had done, 4 and ^aalso for the innocent blood which he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; and the LORD was unwilling to forgive. 5 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

6 So ^aJehoiakim ¹lay down with his fathers, and his son Jehoiachin became king in his place. 7 Now ^athe king of Egypt did not come out of his land again, ^bbecause the king of Babylon had taken everything that belonged to the king of Egypt from ^cthe brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates.

8 ^aJehoiachin was ^beighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned for three months in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem. 9 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, ^ain accordance with all that his father had done.

10 At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon went up to Jerusalem, and the city came under siege. 11 And Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came to the city, while his servants were besieging it. 12 Then ^aJehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials. And ^bthe king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his reign. 13 ^aHe also brought out from there all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and he ^bsmashed all the articles of gold ^cthat Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, just as the LORD had said. 14 Then ^ahe led into exile all the people of Jerusalem and all the commanders and all the valiant warriors, ^bten thousand exiles, and ^call the craftsmen and the smiths. None were left ^dexcept the poorest people of the land.

15 So ^ahe led Jehoiachin into exile to Babylon; also the king’s mother, the king’s wives, and his officials and the leading men of the land, he led into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. 16 And all the valiant men, ^aseven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, a thousand, all strong and fit for war, these too the king of Babylon brought into exile to Babylon.

17 ^aThen the king of Babylon made ¹his uncle Mattaniah king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

18 ^aZedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was ^bHamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. 19 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, ^ain accordance with everything that Jehoiakim had done. 20 For it was ^adue to the anger of the LORD that this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until He cast them out of His presence. And ^bZedekiah revolted against the king of Babylon.

None remained ^dexcept the poorest people of the land.

15 So ^ahe led Jehoiachin away into exile to Babylon; also the king’s mother and the king’s wives and his officials and the leading men of the land, he led away into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. 16 All the men of valor, ^aseven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, one thousand, all strong and fit for war, and these the king of Babylon brought into exile to Babylon.

17 ^aThen the king of Babylon made ¹his uncle Mattaniah king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

18 ^aZedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was ^bHamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. 19 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, ^aaccording to all that Jehoiakim had done. 20 For ^athrough the anger of the LORD this came about in Jerusalem and Judah until He cast them out from His presence. And ^bZedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

None remained ^dexcept the poorest people of the land.

15 ^aNebuchadnezzar led Jehoiachin away into exile to Babylon; also he took the king’s mother and the king’s wives and his officials and the leading men of the land including Ezekiel as exiles from Jerusalem to Babylon. Ezek 1:1 16 And the king of Babylon brought as exiles to Babylon all the brave men, ^aseven thousand of them, and the craftsmen and the smiths, a thousand of them, all strong and fit for war.

17 ^aThen the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s uncle, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

18 ^aZedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem.
