^aY sucedió que al cabo de los veinte años, en los cuales Salomón había edificado la casa del SEÑOR y su propia casa, 2 reedificó las ciudades que Hiram¹ le² había dado, y estableció³ allí a los hijos de Israel. 3 Después Salomón fue a Hamat de Soba y la tomó. 4 Y reedificó Tadmor en el desierto y todas las ciudades de almacenaje que había edificado en Hamat. 5 También reedificó Bet-horón de arriba y Bet-horón^a de abajo, ciudades fortificadas, con muros, puertas y barras^b; 6 y Baalat y todas las ciudades de almacenaje que Salomón tenía, y todas las ciudades para sus¹ carros, y las ciudades para sus² hombres de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón quiso³ edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano y en toda la tierra de su dominio.

7 A todo el pueblo que había quedado de los hititas, amorreos, ferezeos, heveos y de los jebuseos, que no eran de Israel^a, 8 es decir, a sus descendientes que habían quedado en la tierra después de ellos, a quienes los hijos de Israel no habían destruido, Salomón les impuso leva de servidumbre hasta el día de hoy^a. 9 Mas de los hijos de Israel Salomón no hizo esclavos para su obra, porque ellos eran hombres de guerra, sus capitanes escogidos, los comandantes de sus carros y sus hombres de a caballo. 10 Y estos eran los principales oficiales¹ del rey Salomón: doscientos cincuenta que gobernaban sobre el pueblo.

11 Y Salomón hizo subir a la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a la casa que él le había edificado^a; pues dijo: Mi mujer no habitará en la casa de David, rey de Israel, porque son sagrados los lugares¹ donde el arca del SEÑOR ha entrado.

12 Entonces Salomón ofreció holocaustos al SEÑOR sobre el altar del SEÑOR que había edificado^a delante del pórtico; 13 y lo hizo conforme a lo prescrito para cada día^a, ofreciéndolos conforme al mandamiento de Moisés, para los días de reposo, las lunas nuevas y las tres fiestas anuales^b: la fiesta de los panes sin levadura^1c, la fiesta de las semanas^d y la fiesta de los tabernáculos^2e.

14 Y conforme a las ordenanzas de su padre David, designó las clases sacerdotales^a en sus servicios, a los levitas en sus deberes de alabar y ministrar^b delante de los sacerdotes según lo prescrito para cada día y a los porteros^c por sus clases para cada puerta; porque así lo había ordenado David, hombre de Dios^d. 15 Y no se apartaron del mandamiento del rey tocante a los sacerdotes y a los levitas en cosa alguna, ni tocante a los almacenes.

16 Así fue llevada a cabo toda la obra de Salomón desde¹ el día en que se echaron los cimientos de la casa del SEÑOR hasta que fue terminada. Así fue acabada la casa del SEÑOR.

17 Entonces Salomón fue a Ezión-geber y a Elot^a junto a la costa en la tierra de Edom^b. 18 Y por medio de sus siervos, Hiram¹ le envió naves y marinos² conocedores del mar; yestos fueron con los siervos de Salomón a Ofir, y de allí tomaron cuatrocientos cincuenta talentos de oro^a, que llevaron al rey Salomón.

^aNow it came about at the end of the twenty years in which Solomon had built the house of the LORD and his own house, 2 that he built the cities which Huram had given ¹him, and settled the sons of Israel there.

3 Then Solomon went to Hamath-zobah and captured it. 4 He built Tadmor in the wilderness and all the storage cities which he had built in Hamath. 5 He also built upper ^aBeth-horon and lower Beth-horon, which were ^bfortified cities with walls, gates, and bars; 6 and Baalath and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for ¹his chariots and cities for ²his horsemen, and everything that it pleased Solomon to build in Jerusalem, Lebanon, and all the land ³under his rule.

7 ^aAll of the people who were left of the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel, 8 that is, from their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel had not destroyed, ^aSolomon raised them as forced laborers to this day. 9 But Solomon did not make slaves from the sons of Israel for his work; for they were men of war, his chief captains and commanders of his chariots and his horsemen. 10 These were the chief ¹officers of King Solomon, 250 who ruled over the people.

11 ^aThen Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter up from the city of David to the house which he had built for her, for he said, “My wife shall not live in the house of David king of Israel, because ¹the places where the ark of the LORD has entered are holy.”

12 Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to the LORD on ^athe altar of the LORD which he had built in front of the porch; 13 and ^ahe did so according to the daily rule, offering them up ^baccording to the commandment of Moses, for ^cthe Sabbaths, ^dthe new moons, and the ^ethree annual feasts—the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Booths.

14 Now according to the ordinance of his father David, he appointed ^athe divisions of the priests for their service, and ^bthe Levites for their duties of praise and ministering before the priests according to the daily rule, and ^cthe gatekeepers by their divisions at every gate; for this is what ^dDavid, the man of God, had commanded. 15 And they did not deviate from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites in any matter or regarding the storehouses.

16 So all the work of Solomon was carried out ¹from the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was completed.

17 Then Solomon went to ^aEzion-geber and to ^bEloth on the seashore in the land of Edom. 18 And by his servants Huram sent him ships and servants who knew the sea; and they went with Solomon’s servants to Ophir and ^atook from there ¹450 talents of gold, and brought it to King Solomon.

^aNow it came about at the end of the twenty years in which Solomon had built the house of the LORD and his own house 2 that he built the cities which Huram had given to ¹him, and settled the sons of Israel there.

14 Now according to the ordinance of his father David, he appointed ^athe divisions of the priests for their service, and ^bthe Levites for their duties of praise and ministering before the priests according to the daily rule, and ^cthe gatekeepers by their divisions at every gate; for ^dDavid the man of God had so commanded. 15 And they did not depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites in any manner or concerning the storehouses.

16 Thus all the work of Solomon was carried out ¹from the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, and until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was completed.

17 Then Solomon went to ^aEzion-geber and to ^bEloth on the seashore in the land of Edom. 18 And Huram by his servants sent him ships and servants who knew the sea; and they went with Solomon’s servants to Ophir, and ^atook from there four hundred and fifty talents of gold and brought them to King Solomon.

3 Then Solomon went to Hamath-zobah and captured it. 4 He built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all his storage cities in Hamath. 5 He also built upper ^aBeth-horon and lower Beth-horon, ^bfortified cities with walls, gates, and bars to lock the gates; 6 and Baalath and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for his chariots and the cities for his horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land under his rule.

7 ^aAll the people who were left of the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel, 8 but were descendants of those who were left in the land, whom the Israelites had not destroyed—Solomon brought ^athem up as forced laborers to this day. 9 But Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work; they were men of war, his chief captains, and commanders of his chariots and his horsemen. 10 These were the chief officers of King Solomon, two hundred and fifty in authority who ruled over the people.

11 ^aThen Solomon brought the daughter of Pharaoh up from the City of David into the house (palace) he had built for her, for he said, “My wife shall not live in the house of David king of Israel, because the places where the ark of the LORD has entered are holy.”

12 Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to the LORD on ^athe altar of the LORD which he had built in front of the porch of the temple, 13 a ^acertain number every day, offering them up as ^bMoses commanded for ^cthe Sabbaths, ^dthe New Moons, and the ^ethree annual feasts—the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Booths (Tabernacles) .

14 Now in accordance with the ordinance of his father David, he appointed ^athe divisions of the priests for their service, and ^bthe Levites for their duties of praise and ministering and serving before the priests as every day required, and ^cthe gatekeepers by their divisions at every gate; for ^dDavid the man of God had so commanded. 15 And they did not deviate from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites in any respect or in regard to the storehouses or treasuries.

16 Thus all the work of Solomon was carried out from the day the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was completed.

17 Then Solomon went to ^aEzion-geber and to ^bEloth on the shore of the Red Sea in the land of Edom. 18 And Huram (Hiram) sent him, by his servants, ships and servants familiar with the sea; and they went with Solomon’s servants to Ophir, and ^atook from there four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to King Solomon.
