Pedid lluvia al SEÑORen el tiempo de la lluvia tardía¹^a,al SEÑOR que hace los nubarrones²;Él les dará aguaceros^b,y hierba en el campo a cada uno^c.2 Porque los terafines¹ hablan iniquidad²^a,y los adivinos ven visiones mentirosas³^b,y cuentan sueños falsos^c;en vano dan consuelo.Por tanto, el pueblo vaga⁴ como ovejas,está afligido porque no hay pastor^d.3 Contra los pastores se enciende mi ira^a,y a los machos cabríos¹ castigaré;porque el SEÑOR de los ejércitos ha visitado su rebaño^b, la casa de Judá,y hará de ellos como su caballo de honor en la batalla.4 De él saldrá la piedra angular^a,de él la clavija,de él el arco de guerra^b,de él todo gobernante¹; juntos5 serán como valientes,que en la batalla huellan al enemigo en el barro de las calles^a;pelearán, porque el SEÑOR estará con ellos,y serán avergonzados los que montan a caballo^b.6 Fortaleceré^a la casa de Judáy la casa de José salvaré^b,y los haré volver¹^cporque me he compadecido de ellos^d;y serán como si no los hubiera rechazado^e,porque yo soy el SEÑOR su Dios, y les responderé^f.7 Efraín será como un valiente,y se alegrará su corazón como por el vino;sus hijos lo verán y se alegrarán,y se regocijará¹ su corazón en el SEÑOR^a.8 Y les silbaré para reunirlos^a,porque los he redimido^b;y serán tan numerosos como eran¹^c.9 Cuando yo los esparza¹ entre los pueblos,aun en lejanas tierras se acordarán de mí,y vivirán con sus hijos, y volverán^a.10 Los haré volver de la tierra de Egipto,y de Asiria los recogeré^a;los traeré a la tierra de Galaad^b y del Líbano,hasta que no haya¹ sitio para ellos^c.11 Pasarán por el mar de la angustia,y Él herirá las olas en el mar^ay se secarán todas las profundidades del Nilo^b;y será abatido el orgullo de Asiria^cy apartado el cetro de Egipto^d.12 Yo los fortaleceré en el SEÑOR^a,y en su nombre andarán—declara el SEÑOR^b.

God Will Bless Judah and Ephraim

Ask for ^arain from the LORD at the time of the spring rain—The LORD who ^bmakes the ¹storm winds;And He will give them ^cshowers of rain, vegetation in the field to each person.

2 For the ¹^ahousehold idols speak deception,And the ^bdiviners see ²an illusionAnd tell ^cdeceitful dreams;They comfort in vain.Therefore the people ³wander like ^dsheep,They are wretched because there is no shepherd.3 “My ^aanger is kindled against the shepherds,And I will punish the ¹male goats;For the LORD of armies has ^bvisited His flock, the house of Judah,And will make them like His majestic horse in battle.4 “From ¹them will come the ^acornerstone,From ²them the tent peg,From ³them the bow of ^bbattle,From ⁴them every tyrant, all of them together.5 “And they will be like warriors,^aTrampling down the enemy in the mud of the streets in battle;And they will fight, because the LORD will be with them;And the ^briders on horses will be put to shame.6 “And I will ^astrengthen the house of Judah,And I will ^bsave the house of Joseph,And I will ¹^cbring them back,Because I have had ^dcompassion on them;And they will be as though I had ^enot rejected them,For I am the LORD their God and I will ^fanswer them.7 “Ephraim will be like a warrior,And their heart will be joyful as if from wine;Indeed, their ^achildren will see it and be joyful,¹Their heart will rejoice in the LORD.8 “I will ^awhistle for them and gather them together,For I have redeemed them;And they will be as ^bnumerous as they ¹^cwere before.9 “When I ¹scatter them among the peoples,They will ^aremember Me in distant countries,And they with their children will live and come back.10 “I will ^abring them back from the land of EgyptAnd gather them from Assyria;And I will bring them into the land of ^bGilead and Lebanon¹Until ^cno room can be found for them.11 “And they will pass through the ^asea of distressAnd He will strike the waves in the sea,So that all the depths of the ^bNile will dry up;And the pride of ^cAssyria will be brought down,And the scepter of ^dEgypt will depart.12 “And I will ^astrengthen them in the LORD,And in His name ^bthey will walk,” declares the LORD.

God Will Bless Judah and Ephraim

Ask for ^arain from the LORD at the time of the spring rain.It is the LORD who ^bmakes the thunder clouds;And He will give them ^cshowers of rain, grass in the field to everyone.2 For the ^ateraphim (household idols) speak wickedness (emptiness, worthlessness) ,And the ^bdiviners see lying visionsAnd tell ^cfalse dreams;They comfort in vain.Therefore the people wander like ^dsheep,They are afflicted and suffer because there is no shepherd.3 “My ^aanger is kindled against the shepherds who are not true shepherds,And I shall punish the male goats (leaders) ;For the LORD of hosts has ^bvisited His flock, the house of Judah (the Southern Kingdom) ,And will make them like His beautiful and majestic horse in the battle. Ezek 34:1-104 “From them (Judah) shall come the ¹^aCornerstone,From them the tent peg,From them the bow of ^bbattle,From them every ruler, all of them together. Jer 30:215 “They will be like mighty men^aTrampling down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle;And they will fight because the LORD is with them,And the enemies’ ^briders on horses will be shamed.6 “I will ^astrengthen the house of Judah making it superior,And I will ^bsave the house of Joseph.I will ^cbring them back and allow them to live securely,Because I have had ^dcompassion on them.They will be as though I had ^enot rejected them,For I am the LORD their God, and I will ^flisten and answer them.7 “Then ¹Ephraim will be like a mighty warrior,And their heart will rejoice as if from wine;Yes, their ^achildren will see it and rejoice;Their heart will rejoice and shout triumphantly in the LORD.8 “I will ¹^awhistle for them and gather them together,For I have redeemed them;And they will ^bincrease again as they ^chave increased before in Egypt. Ezek 36:10, 119 “When I scatter them among the nations,They will ^aremember Me in far countries,And with their children they will live and come back to Me and the land I gave them.10 “I will ^abring them (all Israel) back home again from the land of EgyptAnd gather them from Assyria,And I will bring them into the land of ^bGilead and Lebanon the land on the east and on the west of the JordanUntil ^cno room can be found for them.11 “And they will pass through the ^asea of distress and anxiety with the LORD leading His people, as at the Red SeaAnd He will strike the waves in the sea,So that all the depths of the ^bNile will dry up;And the pride of ^cAssyria will be brought downAnd the ^dscepter of the taskmasters of Egypt will pass away.12 “And I will ^astrengthen Israel in the LORD,And ^bthey will walk and glory in His name,” declares the LORD.
