Oración pidiendo la caída de los impíos

¿Por qué, oh SEÑOR, te mantienes alejado^a,y te escondes¹^b en tiempos de tribulación?2 Con arrogancia el impío acosa¹ al afligido^a;¡que sea² atrapado en las trampas que ha urdido^b!

3 Porque del deseo de su corazón¹^a se jacta el impío^b,y el codicioso maldice² y desprecia al SEÑOR^c.4 El impío, en la altivez de su rostro, no busca a Dios^a.Todo su pensamiento es¹: No hay Dios²^b.

5 Sus caminos prosperan¹ en todo tiempo^a;tus juicios, oh Dios, están en lo alto, lejos de su vista^b;a todos sus adversarios los desprecia.6 Dice en su corazón: No hay quien me mueva¹^a;por todas las generaciones no sufriré adversidad^b.7 Llena está su boca de blasfemia^a, engaño y opresión^b;bajo su lengua hay malicia e iniquidad^c.8 Se sienta al acecho en las aldeas^a,en los escondrijos mata al inocente^b;sus ojos espían¹ al desvalido²^c.9 Acecha en el escondrijo como león en su guarida^a;acecha^b para atrapar al afligido^c,y atrapa al afligido arrastrándolo a su red^d.10 Se agazapa, se encoge,y los desdichados¹ caen en sus garras.11 Dice en su corazón: Dios se ha olvidado;ha escondido su rostro; nunca verá nada^a.

12 Levántate, oh SEÑOR; alza, oh Dios, tu mano^a.No te olvides de los pobres^b.13 ¿Por qué ha despreciado el impío a Dios^a?Ha dicho en su corazón: Tú no lo requerirás.14 Tú lo has visto, porque has contemplado la malicia y la vejación^a, para hacer justicia con¹ tu mano.A ti se acoge el desvalido²^b;tú has sido amparo³ del huérfano^c.15 Quiebra tú el brazo del impío y del malvado^a;persigue su maldad hasta que desaparezca¹^b.

16 El SEÑOR es Rey eternamente y para siempre^a;las naciones han perecido de su tierra^b.17 Oh SEÑOR, tú has oído el deseo de los humildes¹^a;tú fortalecerás su corazón^b e inclinarás tu oído^c18 para vindicar¹ al huérfano^a y al afligido^b;para que no vuelva a causar terror el hombre de la tierra²^c.

A Prayer for the Overthrow of the Wicked.

Why ^ado You stand far away, LORD?Why ^bdo You hide ¹Yourself in times of trouble?2 In ^aarrogance the wicked hotly pursue the needy;¹Let them be ^bcaught in the plots which they have devised.

3 For the wicked ^aboasts of his ^bsoul’s desire,And ¹the greedy person curses and ^cshows disrespect to the LORD.4 The wicked, ¹in his haughtiness, ^adoes not seek Him.^bThere is no God in all his schemes.

5 His ways ^asucceed at all times;Yet Your judgments are on high, ^bout of his sight;As for all his enemies, he snorts at them.6 He says to himself, “^aI will not be moved;¹Throughout the generations ^bI will not be in adversity.”7 His ^amouth is full of cursing, deceit, and ^boppression;^cUnder his tongue is harm and injustice.8 He sits in the ^alurking places of the villages;He ^bkills the innocent in the secret places;His eyes ¹surreptitiously watch for the ²^cunfortunate.9 He lurks in secret like ^aa lion in his ¹lair;He ^blurks to catch ^cthe needy;He catches the needy when he pulls him into his ^dnet.10 Then he crushes the needy one, who cowers;And ¹unfortunate people fall by his mighty power.11 He ^asays to himself, “God has forgotten;He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”

12 Arise, LORD; God, ^alift up Your hand.^bDo not forget the humble.13 Why has the wicked ^atreated God disrespectfully?He has said to himself, “¹You will not require an account.”14 You have seen it, for You have looked at ^aharm and provocation to ¹take it into Your hand.The ²^bunfortunate commits himself to You;You have been the ^chelper of the orphan.15 ^aBreak the arm of the wicked and the evildoer,¹^bSeek out his wickedness until You find none.

16 The LORD is ^aKing forever and ever;^bNations have perished from His land.17 LORD, You have heard the ^adesire of the humble;You will ^bstrengthen their heart, ^cYou will make Your ear attentive18 To ¹vindicate the ^aorphan and the ^boppressed,So that mankind, which is of the earth, will no longer cause ^cterror.

3 For the wicked ^aboasts and sings the praises of his ^bheart’s desire,And the greedy man curses and ^cspurns and even despises the LORD.4 The wicked, in the haughtiness of his face, ^awill not seek nor inquire for Him;All his thoughts are, “^bThere is no God so there is no accountability or punishment.”

5 His ways ^aprosper at all times;Your judgments LORD are on high, ^bout of his sight so he never thinks about them;As for all his enemies, he sneers at them.6 He says to himself, “^aI will not be moved;For throughout all generations ^bI will not be in adversity for nothing bad will happen to me.”7 His ^amouth is full of curses and deceit (fraud) and ^boppression;^cUnder his tongue is mischief and wickedness injustice and sin.8 He lurks in ^aambush in the villages;In hiding places he ^bkills the innocent;He lies in wait for the ^cunfortunate the unhappy, the poor, the helpless.9 He lurks in a hiding place like ^aa lion in his lair;He ^blies in wait to catch ^cthe afflicted;He catches the afflicted when he draws him into his ^dnet.10 He crushes his prey and crouches;And the unfortunate fall by his mighty claws.11 He ^asays to himself, “God has quite forgotten;He has hidden His face; He will never see my deed.”

12 Arise, O LORD! O God, ^alift up Your hand in judgment;^bDo not forget the suffering.13 Why has the wicked ^aspurned and shown disrespect to God?He has said to himself, “You will not require me to account.”14 You have seen it, for You have noted ^amischief and vexation (irritation) to take it into Your hand.The ^bunfortunate commits himself to You;You are the ^chelper of the fatherless.15 ^aBreak the arm of the wicked and the evildoer,^bSeek out his wickedness until You find no more.

16 The LORD is ^aKing forever and ever;The ^bnations will perish from His land.17 O LORD, You have heard the ^adesire of the humble and oppressed;You will ^bstrengthen their heart, ^cYou will incline Your ear to hear,18 To vindicate and obtain justice for the ^afatherless and the ^boppressed,So that man who is of the earth will no longer ^cterrify them.
