Y tú, hijo de hombre, toma una espada afilada; tómala y hazla pasar sobre tu cabeza y sobre tu barba^a como navaja de barbero. Toma luego una balanza^b y divide el pelo cortado¹. 2 Una tercera parte quemarás a fuego en medio de la ciudad cuando terminen los días del sitio^a. Otra tercera parte tomarás y golpearás con la espada alrededor de la ciudad¹; y la otra tercera parte esparcirás al viento, y yo desenvainaré la espada detrás de ellos^b. 3 Toma también de allí unos pocos en número y átalos en la orla de tu manto¹. 4 Y toma otra vez algunos de ellos, échalos en medio del fuego, y quémalos en el fuego. De ahí saldrá el fuego hacia toda la casa de Israel. 5 Así dice el Señor DIOS¹: «Esta es Jerusalén^a; yo la coloqué en el centro de las naciones^b y de los territorios a su alrededor. 6 Pero ella se ha rebelado contra mis ordenanzas con más impiedad que las naciones, y contra mis estatutos más que los territorios alrededor de ella; porque ellos han desechado mis ordenanzas y no han andado en mis estatutos^1a». 7 Por tanto, así dice el Señor DIOS: «Porque vuestra rebelión es mayor que la de las naciones que os rodean, y no habéis andado en mis estatutos ni observado mis ordenanzas^a, ni tampoco observado las ordenanzas de las naciones que os rodean», 8 por eso, así dice el Señor DIOS: «He aquí, yo, yo mismo, estoy contra ti, y yo ejecutaré juicios^a en medio de ti a la vista de las naciones^b. 9 Y yo haré en ti lo que no he hecho y lo que no volveré a hacer jamás a causa de todas tus abominaciones^a. 10 Por eso, los padres se comerán a sus hijos^a en medio de ti, y los hijos se comerán a sus padres; ejecutaré juicios en ti y esparciré cuantos te queden a todos los vientos^b. 11 Por tanto, ¡vivo yo!—declara el Señor DIOS—que por haber profanado mi santuario con todos tus ídolos detestables y con todas tus abominaciones^a, yo me retiraré, mi ojo no tendrá piedad, y tampoco perdonaré^b. 12 Una tercera parte de ti morirá de pestilencia o será consumida por el hambre en medio de ti, otra tercera parte caerá a espada alrededor de ti^a y la otra tercera parte esparciré a todos los vientos, y yo desenvainaré la espada tras ellos^b.

13 »Se desahogará mi ira, saciaré¹ en ellos mi furor y me vengaré^2a; entonces sabrán que yo, el SEÑOR, he hablado en mi celo cuando desahogue mi furor contra ellos^b. 14 Te haré desolación y oprobio entre las naciones que te rodean, a los ojos de todos los que pasen^a. 15 Y serás¹ oprobio, escarnio, advertencia y objeto de horror para las naciones que te rodean, cuando haga juicios contra ti^a con ira, furor y terribles reprensiones. Yo, el SEÑOR, he hablado^b. 16 Cuando envíe contra ellos las saetas mortíferas¹ del hambre para destrucción, las cuales enviaré para destruiros, entonces también aumentaré el hambre sobre vosotros y romperé la provisión² de pan. 17 Enviaré también sobre vosotros hambre y fieras, y te dejarán sin hijos^a; y la plaga y la sangre pasarán por ti^b, y mandaré sobre ti la espada. Yo, el SEÑOR, he hablado».

“As for you, son of man, take a ^asharp sword; take and ¹use it as a barber’s razor on your head and beard. Then take ^bscales for weighing and divide ²the hair. 2 A third you shall burn in the fire at the center of the city, when the ^adays of the siege are completed. Then you shall take a third and strike it with the sword all around ¹the city, and a third you shall scatter to the wind; for I will ^bunsheathe a sword behind them. 3 Take also a few hairs in number from ¹them and bind them in the hems of your robes. 4 Take again some of them and throw them into the fire and burn them in the fire; from it a fire will ¹spread to all the house of Israel.

5 “This is what the Lord ¹GOD says: ‘This is ^aJerusalem; I have placed her at the ^bcenter of the nations, with lands around her. 6 But she has rebelled against My ordinances more wickedly than the nations, and against My statutes ^amore than the lands which surround her; for they have ^brejected My ordinances and have not walked ¹in My statutes.’ 7 Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have ^amore turmoil than the nations that surround you and have not walked in My statutes, nor executed My ordinances, nor acted in accordance with the ordinances of the nations around you,’ 8 therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I, even I, am ^aagainst you, and I will ^bexecute judgments among you in the sight of the nations. 9 And because of all your abominations I will do among you what I have ^anot done, and the like of which I will never do again. 10 Therefore, ^afathers will eat their sons among you, and sons will eat their fathers; for I will execute judgments on you and ^bscatter all your remnant to every wind. 11 Therefore as I live,’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘Because you have ^adefiled My sanctuary with all your ^bdetestable idols and with all your abominations, I definitely will also withdraw and My eye will have no pity, and I also will not spare. 12 A third of you will die by ^aplague or perish by famine among you, a third will fall by the sword around you, and a third I will ^bscatter to every wind, and I will ^cunsheathe a sword behind them.

13 ‘Then My anger will be spent and I will satisfy My wrath on them, and I will be ^aappeased; then they will know that I, the LORD, have ^bspoken in My zeal, when I have spent My wrath upon them. 14 Moreover, I will make you a site of ruins and a ^adisgrace among the nations that surround you, in the sight of everyone who passes by. 15 So ¹it will be a disgrace, an object of abuse, a ^awarning, and an object of horror to the nations that surround you when I ^bexecute judgments against you in anger, wrath, and raging reprimands. I, the LORD, have spoken. 16 When I send against them the ¹deadly arrows of famine which ²were for the destruction of those whom I will send to destroy you, then I will also intensify the famine upon you and break off your ³provision of bread. 17 ^aI will send on you famine and vicious animals, and they will bereave you of children; ^bplague and bloodshed also will pass through you, and I will bring the sword on you. I, the LORD, have spoken.’”

“And you Ezekiel, son of man, take a ^asharp sword and use it as a barber’s razor and shave your head and your beard. Then take ^bscales for weighing and divide the hair into three parts. 2 You shall burn one third with fire in the center of the city, when the ^adays of the siege are completed. Then you shall take one third and strike it with the sword all around the city, and one third you shall scatter to the wind; and I will ^bunsheathe a sword behind them. 3 Also take some of them and bind them in the edges of your robes. 4 Again take some hair and throw them into the fire and burn them in the fire; from it a fire will spread to all the house of Israel.

5 “Thus says the Lord GOD, ‘This is ^aJerusalem; I have set her in the ^bcenter of the nations, and countries are around her. 6 And she has rebelled against My ordinances more wickedly than the pagan nations and against My statutes ^amore than the countries that are around her; for Israel ^bhas rejected My ordinances and has not walked in My statutes.’ Rom 2:14, 15 7 Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, ‘Because you have ^amore turmoil than the nations which surround you and have not walked in My statutes, nor kept My ordinances, nor observed the ordinances of the nations which surround you,’ Deut 7:2-6; Josh 23:7; Judg 2:2 8 therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, ‘Behold, I, I Myself, am ^aagainst you, and I will ^bexecute judgments among you in the sight of the nations. 9 And because of all your abominations, I will do among you that which I have ^anot done, and the like of which I will not do again. Lam 4:6; Dan 9:12; Amos 3:2 10 Therefore, ^afathers will eat their sons among you, and sons will eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments on you and I will ^bscatter to all the winds the remnant of you. Lev 26:33; Deut 28:64; Ezek 12:14; Zech 2:6 11 So, as I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘surely, because you have ^adefiled My sanctuary with all your ^bdetestable idols and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you and withdraw, and My eye will have no pity and I will not spare you. 12 One third of you will die of ^avirulent disease or be consumed by famine among you; one third will fall by the sword around you; and one third I will ^bscatter to all the winds, and I will ^cunsheathe a sword behind them.

13 ‘Thus My anger will come to an end and I will satisfy My wrath on them, and I will be ^aappeased; then they will know without any doubt that I the LORD have ^bspoken in My zeal when I have spent My wrath on them. Ezek 36:6; 38:19 14 Moreover, I will make you a desolation and a ^adisgrace among the nations which surround you and in the sight of all who pass by. Lev 26:31, 32; Neh 2:17 15 So it will be a disgrace, a taunt, a ^awarning and an object of horror to the pagan nations who surround you when I ^bexecute judgments against you in anger and in wrath and in raging reprimands—I, the LORD, have spoken. Deut 28:37; Ps 79:4; Jer 24:9 16 When I send against them the deadly arrows of hunger which were for the destruction of those whom I will send to destroy you, then I will increase the famine upon you and break your staff of bread. 17 Further, ^aI will send against you hunger and wild beasts, and they will bereave you of children; ^bvirulent disease and bloodshed also will pass through you, and I will bring the sword on you. I, the LORD, have spoken.’”
