Y él me dijo: Hijo de hombre, come lo que tienes delante¹; come este rollo^a, y ve, habla a la casa de Israel. 2 Abrí, pues, mi boca^a, y me dio a comer el¹ rollo. 3 Entonces me dijo: Hijo de hombre, alimenta tu estómago y llena tu cuerpo^1a de este rollo que te doy. Y lo comí^b, y fue en mi boca dulce como la miel^c.

4 Me dijo además: Hijo de hombre, ve¹ a la casa de Israel y háblales con mis palabras. 5 Porque no eres enviado a un pueblo^a de habla incomprensible y lengua difícil^1b, sino a la casa de Israel; 6 tampoco a pueblos numerosos de habla incomprensible y lengua difícil¹ cuyas palabras no puedes entender. Sino que te he enviado a ellos; ellos te escucharán². 7 Pero la casa de Israel no te querrá escuchar, ya que no quieren escucharme a mí^a. Ciertamente toda la casa de Israel es terca¹ y de duro corazón. 8 He aquí, he hecho tu rostro tan duro como sus rostros, y tu frente tan dura como sus frentes. 9 Como esmeril¹, más duro que el pedernal, he hecho tu frente. No les temas ni te atemorices ante ellos, porque son casa rebelde. 10 Además me dijo: Hijo de hombre, recibe en tu corazón todas mis palabras que yo te hablo^a, y escúchalas atentamente¹. 11 Y ve¹ a los desterrados, a los hijos de tu pueblo; háblales y diles, escuchen o dejen de escuchar: «Así dice el Señor DIOS²».

12 Entonces el Espíritu me levantó^a, y oí detrás de mí un gran ruido atronador^b: Bendita sea la gloria del SEÑOR desde su lugar. 13 Oí el ruido de las alas de los seres vivientes que se tocaban una a la otra, y el ruido de las ruedas junto a ellos^a, un gran ruido atronador. 14 Y el Espíritu me levantó y me tomó; yo iba con amargura en la indignación de mi espíritu, y la mano del SEÑOR era fuerte sobre mí^a. 15 Entonces vine a los desterrados de Tel-abib que habitaban junto al río Quebar, y allí donde ellos vivían, estuve sentado siete días^a, atónito, en medio de ellos.

16 ^aY sucedió que al cabo de los siete días vino a mí la palabra del SEÑOR^b, diciendo: 17 Hijo de hombre, te he puesto por centinela^a de la casa de Israel; cuando oigas la palabra de mi boca, adviérteles de mi parte^b. 18 Cuando yo diga al impío: «Ciertamente morirás», si no le adviertes, si no hablas para advertir al impío de su mal camino a fin de que viva, ese impío morirá por su iniquidad, pero yo demandaré su sangre de tu mano^a. 19 Pero si tú has advertido al impío, yeste no se aparta de su impiedad ni de su camino impío, morirá él por su iniquidad, pero tú habrás librado tu vida^a. 20 Y cuando un justo se desvíe de su justicia y cometa iniquidad, yo pondré un obstáculo delante de él, y morirá; porque tú no le advertiste, él morirá por su pecado, y las obras de justicia que había hecho no serán recordadas^a, pero yo demandaré su sangre de tu mano^b. 21 Sin embargo, si tú has advertido al justo para que el justo no peque, y él no peca, ciertamente vivirá porque aceptó la advertencia^a, y tú habrás librado tu vida.

22 Allí vino sobre mí la mano del SEÑOR, y Él me dijo: Levántate y ve a la llanura, y allí te hablaré^a. 23 Entonces me levanté y salí a la llanura; y he aquí, la gloria del SEÑOR estaba parada allí, como la gloria que vi^a junto al río Quebar^b, y caí rostro en tierra. 24 Y el Espíritu entró en mí, me hizo ponerme en pie y habló conmigo^a, y me dijo: Ve, enciérrate en tu casa. 25 Y tú, hijo de hombre, mira, te echarán¹ cuerdas y con ellas te atarán^a, para que no salgas en medio de ellos. 26 Y haré que tu lengua se te pegue al paladar y enmudecerás^a, y no serás para ellos el hombre que reprenda, porque son una casa rebelde. 27 Pero cuando yo te hable, te abriré la boca^a, y les dirás: «Así dice el Señor DIOS¹». El que oye, que oiga; el que rehúse oír, que rehúse; porque son una casa rebelde^b.

Then He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; ^aeat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” 2 So I ^aopened my mouth, and He fed me this scroll. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your stomach and ^afill your ¹body with this scroll which I am giving you.” Then I ^bate it, and it was as sweet as ^choney in my mouth.

4 Then He said to me, “Son of man, ¹go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them. 5 For ^ayou are not being sent to a people of ^1bunintelligible speech or difficult language, but to the house of Israel, 6 nor to many peoples of ¹unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. ²But I have sent you to ³the people who understand you; 7 yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, since they are ^anot willing to listen to Me. The entire house of Israel certainly is ¹stubborn and obstinate. 8 Behold, I have made your face just as hard as their faces, and your forehead just as hard as their foreheads. 9 Like emery harder than flint I have made your forehead. Do not be afraid of them or be dismayed before them, since they are a rebellious house.” 10 Moreover, He said to me, “Son of man, take into your heart all My ^awords which I will speak to you and listen ¹closely. 11 ¹Go to the exiles, to the sons of your people, and speak to them and tell them, whether they listen or ²not, ‘This is what the Lord ³GOD says.’”

12 Then the ^aSpirit lifted me up, and I heard a great ^brumbling sound behind me: “Blessed be the glory of the LORD from His place!” 13 And I heard the sound of the wings of the living beings touching one another and the sound of the ^awheels beside them, even a great rumbling sound. 14 So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away; and I went embittered in the rage of my spirit, and ^athe hand of the LORD was strong on me. 15 Then I came to the exiles who lived beside the river Chebar at Tel-abib, and I sat there for ^aseven days where they were living, causing consternation among them.

16 Now ^aat the end of seven days the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have appointed you as a ^awatchman for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, ^bwarn them from Me. 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You will certainly die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way so that he may live, that wicked person shall die for wrongdoing, but his ^ablood I will require from your hand. 19 However if you have ^awarned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die for wrongdoing, but you have ^bsaved yourself. 20 Again, ^awhen a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits sin, and I place an ^bobstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require from your hand. 21 However, if you have ^awarned ¹the righteous person that the righteous is not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall certainly live because he took warning; and you have saved yourself.”

22 Now the hand of the LORD was on me there, and He said to me, “Get up, go out to the plain, and there I will ^aspeak to you.” 23 So I got up and went out to the plain; and behold, the ^aglory of the LORD was standing there, like the glory that ^bI saw by the river Chebar, and I fell on my face. 24 But the ^aSpirit entered me and set me up on my feet; and He spoke with me and said to me, “Go, shut yourself inside your house. 25 And as for you, son of man, they will ^aput ropes ¹around you and bind you with them so that you do not go out among them. 26 Moreover, ^aI will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be unable to speak and will not be a man who reprimands them, since they are a rebellious house. 27 But ^awhen I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you will say to them, ‘This is what the Lord ¹GOD says:’ The one who hears, let him hear; and the one who refuses, let him refuse; ^bfor they are a rebellious house.

He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find in this book; ^aeat this scroll, then go, speak to the house of Israel.” 2 So I ^aopened my mouth, and He fed me the scroll. 3 He said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll that I am giving you and ^afill your stomach with it.” So I ^bate it, and it was as sweet as ^choney in my mouth.

4 Then He said to me, “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak My words to them. 5 For ^ayou are not being sent to a people of ^bunintelligible speech or difficult language, but to the house of Israel, 6 not to many peoples of unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. But I have sent you to them who should listen to you and pay attention to My message; 7 yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you and obey you, since they are ^anot willing to listen to Me and obey Me, for the entire house of Israel is stubborn and obstinate. 8 Behold, I have made your face as hard as their faces and your forehead as hard as their foreheads. 9 I have made your forehead like emery (diamond) , harder than flint. Do not be afraid of them or be dismayed before them, though they are a rebellious house.” Is 50:7; Jer 1:18; 15:20; Mic 3:8 10 Moreover, He said to me, “Son of man, receive into your heart all My ^awords which I will speak to you and hear with your ears (listen closely) . 11 Go to the Jewish exiles in Babylon, to the children of your people, and speak to them, whether they listen or not, and tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’”

12 Then the ^aSpirit lifted me up, and I heard a great ^brushing sound behind me, “Blessed be the glory of the LORD in His place above the expanse.” 13 And then I heard the sound of the wings of the living beings as they touched one another and I heard the sound of the ^awheels beside them, a great rushing sound. 14 So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went embittered by the sins of Israel in the rage of my spirit; and ^athe hand of the LORD was strong on me. 15 Then I came to the exiles who lived beside the River Chebar at Tel Abib. I sat there for ^aseven days in the place where they were living, overwhelmed with astonishment by my vision and the work before me.

16 At ^athe end of seven days the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have appointed you as a ^awatchman to the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, ^bwarn them from Me. Is 52:8; 56:10; 62:6; Jer 6:17 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You will certainly die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to tell him to turn from his wicked way to save his life, that same evil man will die in his sin, but you will be responsible for his ^ablood. 19 However, if you have ^awarned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he will die in his sin; but you have ^1bfreed yourself from responsibility. 20 Again, ^awhen a righteous man turns from his righteousness (right standing with God) and sins, and I place an ^bobstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he will die in his sin, and the righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but you will be responsible for his blood. 21 However, if you have ^awarned the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning; also you have ¹freed yourself from responsibility.”

22 The hand of the LORD was on me there, and He said to me, “Arise, go out to the plain, and I will ^aspeak to you.” 23 So I got up and went out to the plain; and behold, the ^aglory and brilliance of the LORD was standing there, like the glory ^bI had seen by the River Chebar, and I fell face downward. 24 Then the ^aSpirit entered me and made me stand on my feet; He spoke and said to me, “Go, shut yourself up in your house. 25 As for you, son of man, they will ^aput ropes on you and bind you with them so that you cannot go out among them. 26 And ^aI will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you cannot talk and you cannot be a man who rebukes the people, for they are a rebellious house. 27 But ^awhen I speak with you, I will open your mouth and you will say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses to hear, let him refuse; ^bfor they are a rebellious house.
